Wow, a busy day here at BWF today, isn’t it? We’ve got part four in my series on WWE Pay Per View, Drowgoddess’ look at the TNA roster, and now this! I haven’t quite made it through SmackDown yet. I got up to the main event, so I’m going to give my thoughts on the show up to that point, watch the fatal four way on my DVR, talk about that, then give my No Way Out predictions.

TNA’s decision not to renew the contracts of Petey Williams, Jimmy Rave, and Lance Hoyt is just the beginning. More talent cuts are said to be forthcoming, and the supposed logic behind TNA’s non-renewals really brings to mind the saying, “There are none so blind as those who cannot see.” It isn’t releasing talent, we’re told, it’s just not renewing their contracts when they expire. This is semantics. Isn’t the end result the same? TNA wants to pump some new life into the undercard of their roster, and bring in new people. With a finite number of spaces and limited resources, someone has to go in order for this to be possible. Okay.

We open with highlights from Sunday’s “Against All Odds” pay-per-view. As Mike Tenay and Don West run down the evening’s card, they inform us that the first match of the night will be – pretty much the main event from the previous Sunday’s pay-per-view? Now that everyone who paid money to see “Against All Odds” feels like a complete idiot, and may well have just decided never to spend another cent on a TNA ppv, the announcers tout the wisdom of booking this match in light of the “controversy.” What controversy? Sting won the match and kept the title, clean as a whistle. Angle was mad afterwards. There was no controversy of any kind. Even so, on we go to:

Having already stated my case against No Way Out and Backlash, two events that I feel strongly about because of their placement on the calendar in relation to WrestleMania, it may be difficult to write about Judgement Day. Started as an In Your House event in October of 1998, the annual May Pay Per View event almost seems pointless to me.

I overslept last night, and decided “ah, screw it, I’ll just fake my way through an ECW on SciFi review this week.” I really wish I hadn’t, because I just can’t do it justice, given that this happened:
That’s right, kiddies, the Instant Classic, Captain Charisma, Christian has returned to the WWE! While I’m disappointed that he’s a face on ECW rather than a heel on SmackDown, it’s still exciting to watch!
I also missed The Miz defeating Tommy Dreamer, Tyson Kidd, who trained in the Hart family Dungeon, debuted with Natalya by his side and defeated local boy Bao Nguyen, and Christian defeating Jack Swagger with help from Finlay and Hornswoggle.
From now on, I run all my errands on Wednesdays so I can get to sleep earlier and wake up in time for ECW!
Tonight on RAW, Ric Flair confronts Chris Jericho, and we’ve got six man tag team action with John Cena, Rey Mysterio, and Kofi Kingston taking on Kane, Mike Knox, and Jericho.

Last week, I introduced this series of articles with a brief history of WWE Pay Per View, and discussed my reasons against Feburary’s No Way Out event (which, coincidentally, is one week from today).
