Well, once again, no money for me this week.  At least this week’s batch of winners sounded excited to be winning money.  Especially the suckup who told Vince that he was the most handsome man she’d ever seen.  This week though, Million-Dollar Mania actually took a back seat to the usual WWE blend of storylines and wrestling matches – and of course, 30 minute Triple H promos.

I’m not really here to write about Mr. McMahon’s millions, or Triple H promos.  I’m not going to devote this space to John Cena, Jeff Hardy, or Shawn Michaels.  No, this week, the RAW rant is about…  Lance Cade.  I can’t stand Lance Cade.  I couldn’t stand him when he was Garrison Cade and teaming with Mark Jindrak.  I couldn’t stand him when he was part of the Redneck Wrecking Crew with Trevor Murdoch.  Now, I have an even stronger dislike for him, because he single-handedly ruined Chris Jericho’s heel turn.  Over the course of the last week, Chris Jericho took out Shawn Michaels, was confronted by Ric Flair, and was told by Triple H, “ever since you’ve been back, I’ve been looking for a reason to make you my business.”  Jericho has played a great heel many times before, and I, along with many other people I’ve talked to, have been waiting for him to turn heel and do it again.  Y2J doesn’t need some second-rate midcarder to help him fight his battles.  So why did Lance Cade attack Triple H during his match with Jericho last night?  Lance Cade, in my opinion, doesn’t have the “it factor” to be a main event star, and his push is going to bomb, mark my words.

More thoughts on RAW, after the jump.

So, what do we do with the guys who haven’t really been on RAW much who were regulars on Heat, now that Heat doesn’t exist anymore?  Stick them with Vince McMahon during Million-Dollar Mania segments, apparently.  Last week, Charlie Haas was involved in one, this week, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, himself and his 2×4 both clad in tuxedos, was standing with Vince during a call.  Haas, on the other hand, was hosting a Divas bikini contest, which was won by Maria.

Speaking of Divas, Katie Lea Burchill pinned Mickie James in a mixed tag match that also featured Paul Burchill and Mr. Kennedy…

KENNEDY!

What happened to the John Cena/Mickie James love interest storyline?  King mentioned it last week, it didn’t even get that much this week.

John Cena, while we’re on the subject, defeated Umaga in a street fight to kick off the wrestling part of the show.  It was preceeded by a Triple H/John Cena in ring promo, the jist of which was so generic that most of it doesn’t deserve mention here.  Except for Triple H saying that it doesn’t matter about Cena’s fans at Night of Champions, because it’s on past most of their bedtimes.

As mentioned earlier, Triple H took on Y2J Chris Jericho, which ended in… I guess a no contest when Lance Cade jumped H-cubed from behind.  Cena came to the champion’s rescue, only to get pedigreed for his efforts.  Cade and Jericho then worked over The Game, standing tall as the show ended.  That’s not the important part though, the important and interesting part is how we got there.

Chris Jericho came to the ring to explain why he did what he did, saying that he’s no longer here to “Save Us,” he’s here to save himself from all of us.  This leads to Ric Flair confronting Jericho, saying he can’t wrestle him because he’s retired, but he can fight him in the parking lot.  As Naitch heads to the parking lot, followed by Jericho, Triple H comes in from outside, right in Jericho’s face, and pretty much tells Jericho that he doesn’t like him, which led to the match.

Elsewhere on the show, Jeff Hardy defeated Carlito, and the World Tag Team Champions Cody Rh………… Huh, what?  Cody’s so boring I fell asleep typing his name.  Anyways, Rhodes and Holly beat Cryme Time in a match so short I actually forgot about it.

My opinion?  It was an ok RAW.  Nothing to write home about this week (though I managed to write a blog about it), and the Lance Cade thing just sucked the life out of Jericho’s heel turn for me.  We’ll see if he can prove me wrong, but I’ll restate my thought that Cade’s push is going to bomb.

  1. Thank you for visiting, Logan. If you’re saying Y2J is a dick, then that means he’s doing his job. Personally, I’ve been waiting for this heel turn since he came back, and think he did a pretty good job of turning. I’ve also heard that his video changed from saying “SAVE_US” to saying “SAVE_ME.”
