Hello, folks!  I’m not planning on reviewing the PPV in real-time tonight (WorldWrestlingInsanity‘s Aaron Wood will have you covered in that regard),  though I will be trying to watch it.  Since I got all but one match right at Night of Champions a few months back, I thought I’d try my hand at tonight’s Unforgiven PPV.

My picks, after the jump!

Cryme Tyme vs. Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase:  World Tag Team Championship

Given that Randy Orton lit a fire under the reigning World Tag Team Champions this past Monday on RAW, I don’t think that Rhodes and DiBiase are quite ready to lose those titles yet.  By hook or by crook, Rhodes and DiBiase will be leaving as tag champs tonight.

Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho in an unsanctioned match.

HBK supposedly has an injured eye, a hurt knee, and now, he’s got a legit Triceps tear.  How weak will Jericho look if Michaels wins this match?  Normally I’d say that HBK shouldn’t go out on a loss, but it’s of no use to anybody except HBK for him to pick up a win tonight.  Don’t fool yourselves, kids, HBK will not be in his last match tonight.  If the Showstopper is going out, he’ll be going out at WrestleMania.  That said, I’m going against my gut and saying that Jericho is going to somehow eke out a victory tonight.

Michelle McCool vs. Maryse:  WWE Diva’s Championship match

I could give you reasons why Maryse won’t win the title, but if you’ve seen her wrestle, especially in comparison to her opponent tonight, Michelle McCool, you’ll understand.  I don’t think Maryse is ready for a title yet.  Michelle wins it.

ECW Championship Scramble

Tonight is the night, kids!  Tonight is the night that Matt Hardy wins the big one!  That is, if you consider the ECW Championship “the big one.”  CM Punk springboarded from the ECW Championship to the World Heavyweight Championship, and the man that he won the ECW Championship from, John Morrison, is one of the most popular guys on the WWE roster; though that’s more because of his tag team with The Miz.  Matt Hardy will be leaving Unforgiven as ECW Champion tonight, mark my words.

World Heavyweight Championsip Scramble

I thought this might have been where Punk wound up losing the title.  Then Randy Orton showed up, and a feud started between him and the Champion.  Despite the talent in this match, Punk is the one who is leaving with his World Heavyweight Championship.

WWE Championship Scramble

Up until Friday, I thought for sure it was going to be Triple H, though now it wouldn’t surprise me if Jeff Hardy finally wins the big one.  With Matt likely winning the ECW Scramble match earlier in the night, Jeff winning the WWE Championship and celebrating with his brother as the top champions on their respective brand would be a feel good moment.  That said, I think it’s more likely to happen at a major PPV if and when Jeff does win the title.  Then again, I said the same thing backat One Night Stand about Undertaker losing a retirement match.  I’m going to go against the grain, I’m going to go out on a limb; I’m going to predict that it’s going to be Jeff Hardy walking away WWE Champion tonight.
