One night removed from co-starring in one of the best opening promos in recent RAW memory, John Cena has apparently been injured during a cage match against former Nexus leader Wade Barrett at a house show in Wilkes-Barre, PA.  We don’t have all the details at this time, but hopefully Cena won’t have to miss an extended amount of time away from the ring.

  1. A cage match at a house show? As much as I've complained that house show audiences aren't treated as though they matter, and that nothing happening at a WWE house show is taken seriously when compared to tv, having a cage match at a house show seems a bit much.

As you say, hopefully it isn't severe.

  2. Odd. A guy who should've been off TV in a firing angle gone a fowl, is now possibly injured off camera. And after a new amazing program with Punk was established. No jokes, no sarcasm. Does this force Orton into the top face spot?

    • It's plausible. Orton is supposedly working hurt as well, but who knows. The one silver lining for WWE out of all this is that they can pass off Cena's injury as being a result of the beatdown from Nexus this past Monday on RAW, which will give some much needed credibility back to the group and some bigger heat for a guy who is already one of the best (in my opinion) heels in the business today, CM Punk. Whatever the extent of Cena's injury, here's hoping for a quick recovery!
