RAW results: 10/27/08

RAW Opener:
Jerry Lawler and Michael Cole announce that Batista teams with Shawn Michaels to take on JBL and Chris Jericho in the main event..

Chris Jericho makes his way to the ring as Lilian announces him as the former World Heavyweight Champion. On the mic, Jericho says that Austin changed the rules during the match and tried to bully him and didn’t make the count when he had the three and as a results Batista is the new World Champion.
Jericho then says if he was Batista he would be ashamed to be Batista and because Batista didn’t beat him. He then goes on to say that it took an Army to get a win over him and he is dying to get his hands on Batista and Shawn Michels.
Jericho then says he has a rematch clause and he will use it next week to beat Batista to be the World Champion once again.
Mike Adamle makes his way out to the ring. Adamle says that he has decided to make his match against Batista next week a steel cage match.
Orton makes his way to the ring. Orton says he wasnt confortible with being listed as a ref for Cyber Sunday and because of him he received a Stone Cold Stunner and he is going to make sure that Mike doesn’t get away with it.
Orton then says he needs Stephanie and Shane to both come to RAW next week and fire Mike Adamle and if they don’t he is going to walk. He says the WWE needs him a lot more then he needs the WWE and either he goes, or I go. Orton then gets in the face of Mike and tells him he is spineless and a failure. He failed as an announcer and he failed as a GM. He says he probably failed as a husband and a father as well.
Mike Adamle then slaps Orton across the face as the two stair eachother down. Orton then leaves the ring and walks towards the back while Mike stands in the ring.
Footage is then shown from Unforgiven last month when CM was jumped backstage by the second generation wrestlers and then kicked by Orton in the face.
CM Punk and Kofi is shown walking to the ring.
CM Punk and Kofi vs.Team Priceless
CM Punk makes his way to the ring first. Next comes his partner, Kofi was the pyro’s exploded on his way out. Team Priceless then make their way to the ring with their partner in crime, Manu.
Cody and Kofi start this match off. The two lock up in the opening moments into this match and Cody gets the upper hand. Kofi makes an early tag to CM Punk and goes for an early cove in this match. Cody makes the tag to Ted but CM Punk is still in control of this match.
Momentary team priceless was talking on the outside and CM Punk dives into them from over the top rope as we go to commercial.
Back from the commercial, Team Priceless seems to be in complete control in this match as Cody just goes for a pin attempt and only gets a two count. Cody is totally dominating until CM Punk counters for the go-asleep but doesn’t hi it. CM Punk goes for the tag to Kofi, Kofi in now. Kofi is all over the place taking out Team Priceless left and right until he misses a move. On the outside, Kofi is getting bullyed by Cody Rhodes. In the ring now, Cody goes for a count on Kofi but kicks out after a two count.
Team Priceless is giving the beat down on Kofi with Ted now choking Kofi in the ropes. Ted goes for the pin but still only gets a two count. Team Priceless are now double teaming on Kofi as the ground is trying to bring Kofi back in this. He manages to get a few right hands in but is reversed and dragged back into Team Priceless’s corner. Kofi still down, receives several stomps to the chest while laying on the ground.
Kofi finally counters Ted and gets the tag into CM Punk. CM Punk runs into the ring and takes out Team Priceless with several back hands and foots to the face. In the corner CM Punk manges to get a kick to the face of Ted. PM Punk is in control of this match, and hits the Go-To-Sleep for the 3 count.
Winners and New Tag Team Champions: Kofi Kingston and CM Punk
CM Punk and Kofi celebrate in the ring as we go to commercial.
– Back from commercial and Lilian Garcia introduces guest commentators for this match. Out comes Roddy Piper, Goldust and The Honky Tonk Man.
Santino Marella vs. Charlie Haas
Santino takes the mic before the match and has something to say. He brings up the Honk-A-Meter on the screen. Santino is dissing everyone and putting over Beth Phoenix as The Glamazon’s music comes out and it’s Charlie Haas dressed as Beth Phoenix.
Haas gets off the top rope after impersonating Beth and Santino decks him from behind. Santino throws Haas t the floor and ends up smacking The Honky Tonk Man. Roddy Piper and Goldust block Santino from leaving the ring. Santino turns around to a big guitar shot from Honky. Goldust, Honky and Piper take shots before leaving together as Beth checks on Santino.
– Back from commercial and Michael Cole introduces the new World Heavyweight Champion Batista. The Animal comes to the ring to a huge pop from the crowd. Batista says he is the Champion and the belt won’t be going anywhere for a long time. Batista says he isn’t worried about the Steel Cage match next week and says that’s his comfort zone. Batista says he will still be World Champion and that’s about it before his music hits again.
– Backstage we see the Divas making their way to the ring as we go to commercial.
Kelly Kelly, Candice Michelle and Mickie James vs. Jillian Hall, Katie Lea and Layla
Back from commercial and Kelly Kelly comes to the ring, followed by Candice and then Mickie. Out next are their opponents, Jillian Hall, Katie Lea and Layla.
Candice and Jillian start the match with an early 2 count from Candice. Candice with a series of moves and another 2 count on Jillian. Candice tags in Mickie and they double team Jillian for a 2 count. Mickie goes through Jillian’s legs and clotheslines her. Mickie knocks Katie and Layla off the apron. Mickie nails Jillian off the top and then with a dropkick for a 2 count.
Jillian throws Mickie by her hair and works her over. Layla comes in for a 2 count on Mickie. Mickie ends up kicking Layla in the face. Katie comes in and decks Candice on the apron. Kelly comes in to battle with Katie now. Head scissors takedown by Kelly and a dropkick into the corner. Katie drops Kelly on her back and gets a 2 count. The Divas start brawling at ringside as Kelly drops her K2 move on Katie in the ring for the pinfall and the win.
Winners: Kelly Kelly, Mickie James and Candice Michelle
– We go backstage with JBL. He says last night, Shawn Michaels cost him one of his biggest business deals. He said he had a deal where he would help Jericho out and then get a World Title shot. JBL said Michaels will learn that nobody crosses him.
Rey Mysterio vs. Evan Bourne
Back from commercial and we see highlights of Kane defeating Rey Mysterio last night. Out first for this match is Rey Mysterio followed by his opponent Evan Bourne.
Bourne and Rey shake hands before the match and lock up. They break it up and go back at it. Side headlock by Rey. They go back and forth off the ropes and Evan takes Rey down to the mat after an exchange. Rey looks impressed. Rey goes around Bourne’s back and takes him down with a head scissors move.
Bourne hits an arm drag off the ropes and it sends Rey to the floor. Another exchange between the two leads to nothing. Very odd start to this match. They meet face to face in the ring as we go back to commercial.
Back from commercial and during commercial Bourne threw Rey to the floor and hit an Asahi moonsault. Back in the ring now, Rey dumps Bourne on the floor now. Rey runs the apron and leaps onto Bourne on the floor. Back in the ring and Rey gets a 2 count.Bourne with a tilt-a-whirl knee to the back and a 2 count of his own.
Bourne has Rey on the mat now with a knee in his back as the crowd chants 619. Bourne goes for a cross body and Rey dropkicks him out of midair. Rey kicks Bourne in his back. Rey goes to catapult off the ropes and it looks like he hurt his knee again. Bourne with a 2 count. Rey hits a few moves, dropkicks Bourne in the face and gets another 2 count. Rey goes to the top and nails a springboard plancha on Bourne. Rey runs the ropes but Bourne drops him with a running enziguri kick. Bourne covers for a 2 count.
Bourne sweeps Rey and hits a standing moonsault for a 2 count. Bourne climbs the top but Rey stalls him. Bourne knocks back Rey and comes off the top but ends up getting thrown in the ropes. Rey hits the 619 but Bourne ducks the springboard, rolls Rey up but gets his rollup reversed by Mysterio for the 1-2-3.
Winner: Rey Mysterio
After the match, Kane’s music hits and out he comes. Rey attacks him but Kane drops him with a clothesline. Kane starts taking Rey’s mask off until Evan Bourne makes the save. Bourne and Rey double team Kane now until Mark Henry comes out. Henry rams Bourne into the ringpost. In the ring, Kane chokeslams Rey and Henry lays Bourne out with the World’s Strongest Slam. Kane and Henry stand tall as Bourne and Rey are down. Back to commercial.
– We get another one of these Cena videos. They’re really trying to sell his return.
– Lilian Garcia introduces The Miz and John Morrison, who come out with mics to the entrance way. They talk about dissing DX last week. Are you 50? The Miz tells the fans they’re intimidated by them. Morrison says they are going to prove they have evolved on next week’s RAW when they take on and defeat DX. The Miz tells them to join us tomorrow on ECW for a very special edition of The Dirt Sheet where they will examine the rise and soon to be fall of DX.
– Backstage we see Batista getting ready as we go back to commercial.
Chris Jericho and JBL vs. Batista and Shawn Michaels
The former World Champion Chris Jericho makes his way to the ring first for tonight’s main event. We cut backstage where JBL is beating down Shawn Michaels in the hallway. JBL throws HBK into the walls and locks him in a room. Back in the arena, Jericho has a smile on his face. JBL’s music hits and JBL struts to the ring as Jericho claps.
The World Heavyweight Champion Batista comes out next. Lawler announces that Michaels will not be able to compete in the match tonight. Batista says let’s do it anyway and the bell rings. Jericho and Batista start the match. Batista shoves Y2J back and he tags JBL right in. They lock up and go to the corner. Right hand by JBL but Batista lands a big clothesline. Batista with a suplex. 2 count by Batista.
Back from commercial and Batista runs into Jericho’s boot in the corner but hits a big clothesline. Batista hits JBL but turns around to a dropkick from Jericho. 2 count by Jericho. Jericho chokes Batista with the ropes as the ref counts. Jericho tags in JBL who throws Batista in the turnbuckle. Jericho comes back in and dropkicks Batista in the mouth while he’s in the corner. Batista ends up on the outside while Jericho hits a baseball slide kick, knocking Batista back into the fan barrier.
Back in the ring and Batista hits a huge clothesline on Jericho and both men are down. Jericho makes the tag to JBL. Batista and JBL trade rights in the ring. JBL locks on a sleeper hold but Batista back drops him. JBL tags in Jericho but he gets dropped with a cothesline and another. Batista scoops Jericho but he slides out of it. Sideslam by Batista. Batista sends JBL to the floor from the apron. Batista goes for the Batista Bomb but Jericho slides out and nails the Codebreaker. 2 count by Jericho.
JBL in the ring now with Batista as Shawn Michaels comes to ringside. Batista tags in HBK and he comes in to clean house. The ref stops HBK and says he didn’t see the tag. Jericho tries to deck Batista with the belt but he ducks. Batista decks Jericho and hits the Batista Bomb on JBL for the pinfall and the win. Jericho is already at the entrance way when the match ends.
Winners: Batista and Shawn Michaels
HBK tends to Batista in the ring as Jericho looks on from the entrance way and RAW goes off the air.
