Ahhhhhhh Wrestlemania. The very name conjures up countless images which have both thrilled and entertained millions upon millions of people, never failing to lose its appeal in almost 30 years. It’s actually scary for yours truly to think that the very fist ‘Mania I can recall was way, way back in 1990 – when the “Immortal” Hulk Hogan was set to square off with the lunacy that was The Ultimate Warrior. Title for title, muscle-bound behemoth versus muscle-bound behemoth. It’s surely an iconic moment in the history of World Wrestling Entertainment and serves as a welcome reminder of just how much excitement Wrestlemania can cause.
This Sunday, the focus of the entire wrestling world will be Phoenix, AZ as the city hosts WWE WrestleMania XXVI. While I will unfortunately not be in attendance this year, I have three WrestleManias under my belt – and with them, a place as part of the attendance records at three different venues. With the biggest show of the year looming on the horizon, I’ve decided to relive the experiences I had in Toronto, Seattle, and Orlando as I attended WrestleMania’s X-8, XIX, and XXIV. Join me, if you will, as I break out my DVDs review all three of those events, beginning right now with WrestleMania X-8.

It’s also a number associated with “Weird Al” Yankovic for some reason. It’s also the number of championships the man we’re here to talk about today has won during his WWE career as of press time. He’s the only person to have held all six major championships across RAW and SmackDown. He’s also the only person that Hulk Hogan has ever held a tag team championship with. I’m referring, of course, to SmackDown’s current World Heavyweight Champion, Edge.

Last week, I introduced this series of articles with a brief history of WWE Pay Per View, and discussed my reasons against Feburary’s No Way Out event (which, coincidentally, is one week from today). This week, we’ll take a look at the Backlash event, which will have it’s 10th annual event on April 26th.
I present my arguments against WWE Backlash, after the jump! (more…)
