    W for …

Welcome lads, lasses and haemaphs. It’s me once again, on yet another Wednesday, fresh off Real-Time for WrestleMania XXV. For those who didnt catch it, then read the thread, situated just a couple of posts down. For those that did, then let’s continue.

If you remember, my head and my heart gave their predictions for WMXXV. Well the results are in! My head picked a grand total of … 2! Undertaker, and the 25th Diva, Santina Marella. My heart on the other hand, didnt get all 9, but still beat my head. My heart picked 4. Triple H, Chris Jericho, Santina Marella and Matt Hardy. These results leave one question. Is it better to pick with your head, or your heart? When it came to WMXXV? Your heart was the one you should’ve went for.

Onto non-Wrestlemania news. Batista is back.

Onto news that people will care about, Tank Johnson has signed a 1-year deal with the Bengals. The same Tank Johnson who, well I’ll let his Wikipedia page tell you. The link is the following: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tank_Johnson.

With Lockdown less than two weeks away, the only match I care about, is of course the Tag Title match between Team 3D and the one and only, Beer Money Inc. The rest of the card can go to hell. Anything that involves Kurt Angle, I’m trying to ignore him, in an attempt he goes away. It hasnt worked so far, but these things don’t happen overnight.

Finally, in conjuction with vincerussowatcheshisbeardgrow.com, I am starting a competition. It’s based on this commercial for Roses chocolates Commercial. In it, it says that by thanking someone, you give them a box of Roses chocolates. For example, Thank you very much for watering my garden, and you give them chocolates. What this competititon is, well, it’s simple. What’s the most inapproapriate thing you can think of, yet be thanked with Roses chocolates?

Thank you very much for … then you add the rest.

For those who dont understand, I’ll give you a few examples. Thank you very much for … killing my family. Thank you very much for … making me sit through a Kurt Angle match. Now, those examples cant be used, but surely you can come up with better ones than that. The competiton ends soon, so get a-creating.

Thats all for this Wednesday, I have been the one they call ‘Legend Killer’, asking you,  Would you like some knives?

    or

    Maybe you’d like these knives?

  2. Your Wednesday Fix

    New name. Same old dribble.

It seems that the folks at BoredWrestlingFan.com, liked my first column, and have allowed me back for a second week, and with this being Wrestlemania 25 week, I’m here to talk about the WWE’s biggest PPV of the year! Or not.

For you see, in a little over two weeks from now, Total Nonstop Action have a PPV entitled ‘Lockdown’, in which every match takes place, inside of the ‘Six Sides of Steel’. The main event of this event pits the TNA World Champion ‘the Icon’ Sting, against the man of many personas, ‘the Hardcore Legend’ Mick Foley.  Two of the oldest, rundown names in TNA go one-on-one for the gold, in a company that is apparently pushing the ‘younger’ talent up the ranks.

Also announced for this PPV, is the New Japan Tag Team Champions, Team 3D, against the TNA Tag Team Champions, Beer Money Inc., in which both sets of titles will be on the line. The event is in Philadelphia, Team3D’s second home you could say, since ECW was based in Philly, so the likeliness of having new TNA Tag Champs, is very likely. However, like I said last week, if your pushing the young guys, have Beer Money win. Even in their little ‘Roughcuts’ interview segment with Brother Ray, he said that he’s there to help the young guys, and put them over. I’m the biggest Beer Money fan I know. I wear my James Storm ‘Sorry About Your Damn Luck’ T-Shirt with pride. If Team 3D win, then TNA inches another step closer to becoming WCW.

Then of course, there’s Lethal Lockdown, where teams of 4 or 5, depending on the year, battle each other to determine which is the better team. The team captains for the match, Kurt Angle and Samoa Joe, which were decided in a 20-man Gauntlet inside the steel, will pick their partners to face the other team. Now Kurt has already gone on record, in picking his team, fellow Main Event Mafia members Booker T, Scott Steiner and Kevin Nash. Samoa Jow on the other hand, doesnt want to be Captain. He just wants to match Jeff Hardy for ridiculous face paint, and carry a blade around with him, to make him look tough. Expect Jeff Jarrett, AJ Styles and Eric Young to be Joe’s partners.

Onto a topic, of a non-wrestling related manner, Jenson Button, driving for Brawn GP, led a 1-2 for his team in the first race of the Formula One season, after Sebastien Vettel, driving for RedBull Racing, and Robert Kubica, driving for BMW-Sauber, collided with each other with three laps to go, whilst sitting second and third respectively. After the 1-2 finish in Melbourne, Australia, Brawn GP decided to sack 270 of its workers. What a way to celebrate, you helped win us the race, now we dont need you. Also, the Brawn GP cars are sponsored by Richard Branson run, Virgin. Does that now mean, that because one of the cars sponsored by Virgin, won the race, will be false advertising for the rest of the year, because it won its first race? I thought you weren’t a Virgin after your first?

Awesome Kong is NOT a match with Al Bundy.

Did You Know? Phillip Seymour Hoffman, is Kurt Angle’s second cousin.

Enjoy the rest of Wrestlemania week! (This coming from the one person, who didnt talk about Wrestlemania in his column.)

  3. Wednesday Night Delight

The time for mysterious notes are over.

Have you ever wondered that your wrestling week, just doesnt seem complete? I mean, there’s RAW on Mondays, ECW Tuesdays, iMPACT Thursdays, Smackdown! Fridays, the new ROH show on Saturdays and a Pay-Per View on Sunday. Why is there nothing wrestling-related happening on Wednesdays? Well, here at BWF, things have changed. Your Wednesday night fix has arrived!

BWF’s newest columnist is here to save those from complete and utter boredom, and to give you about ten minutes of 100% dribble, as I, ramble on, about the comings and goings, the world, not just in the wrestling business, but outside it as well.

As you can tell, I’m not the best with intros, so let’s get right down to business.

    TNA Lockdown

This PPV will have Sting and Mick Foley main eventing, with the TNA Championship on the line. Now, didnt Jeff Jarrett, say several weeks ago, that he wanted to push young, up and coming talent, and create new stars for TNA? Then why are two guys, who made names for themselves somewhere else, wrestling for the world title, instead of these “up and coming” stars you say you have? It’s about time, that you stop relying on known stars that will get you your 1.1 rating, and start taking chances on guys that havent received their shot.

Danny Bonaduce vs Eric Young? Are you f*cking serious? Even though Eric Young sucks, he must’ve pissed Kurt Angle off real bad to get drawn this rubbish. I mean, come on, he’s wrestling a guy, who was a child star in the Partridge Family, and now, had a reality show about him, in which the only thing it was good for, was watching Joel McHale on E!’s ‘The Soup’, take the piss out of it each week. Bonaduce is washed up, why are TNA even bringing this guy in? Do they think that Danny Bonaduce = buyrates? I think not.

Team 3D vs Beer Money Inc. The PPV is in Philly. ECW originated in Philly. Team 3D, just happened to be a big part of ECW back in the day, which means, that chances are, Team 3D will walk away with all the tag gold, except the Tag belts around the waists of MMG. Now, if I was booking this match, I would have Beer Money win. Here’s why. You want to push talent up the ranks? Who better than the best Tag Team in wrestling right now? Robert Roode and James Storm are the only reason I watch TNA. What a better way to push these guys up, than to have them beat Team 3D, in Team 3D’s own backyard? It wont happen, but it should happen.

    WWE Wrestlemania XXV

Edge, Cena, Big Show. Apparently, all three of these guys, want a piece of the ugliest thing going around. Now I’ve dated some ugly broads in my time, but Vickie Guerrero, you are one ugly sumbitch. From how I see it, no matter which way you look at it, there isnt a winner in this match. Is the World Heavyweight Championship, really worth Vickie Guerrero in your bed?

Triple H vs Randy Orton. Is there anything Triple H cant do before he gets jail time? Is there anything else that can be done to build up this match? The answer to both questions is no, and that’s sad really, because there is still two weeks of build up left.

Undertaker and Shawn Michaels. The Streak vs Mr. Wrestlemania. Undertaker is 16-0 at Wrestlemania. Thats impressive to say the least. The New England Patriots were also 16-0. They won two more games before falling to the New York Giants. The Undertaker has beaten 17 different wrestlers going into Wrestlemania 25. Comparing the Patriots to the Undertaker, it seems that Undertaker will win at the Wrestlemania as well. But this time, the Undertaker doesnt have to face Nathan Jones and A-Train, or Giant Gonzalez, or Mark Henry. He faces Shawn Michaels. The same Shawn Michaels who lasted over an hour with Bret Hart at Wrestlemania XII, to win his first WWF Championship. The same Shawn Michaels who competed in the first ever Ladder match at Wrestlemania. The same Shawn Michaels, that no matter who his opponent is, always seems to have the best match, on a Wrestlemania card. Which leaves one question. Will Shawn Michaels be the New York Giants of the wrestling world? If the Undertaker cruicifies Marty Jannetty in the next two weeks, the answer is yes. Otherwise, I think Taker may stay undefeated.

    Legends of Wrestlemania

This game is the latest installment of wrestling games by THQ, to celebrate 25 years of Wrestlemania. Does it live up to the hype? Maybe. I was in a games shop today, browsing around because I have some money to burn, and was listening to the two guys in this games store talk about LoW. Neither of them have played the game, but one didnt like what he heard. He was complaining about the game being ‘too arcadey’ for his liking. I tend to agree in this aspect, otherwise, I see little complaint. Sure, I’d like to see more Legends represented in the game than 42, but the addition of being able to import the wrestlers from SmackDown! vs RAW 2009 onto the game, makes up for that. Sure, pinfalls are a pain to kick out of, but if you are good enough at the game, you shouldnt be getting yourself in that position. This game doesnt have it all, but it gives those who love nostalgia the chance to have a blast from the past, and pit their favourite wrestlers of yesteryear against each other, or have dream matchups against the current day superstars. This game gets a 4 out of 5. Like I said, it could be improved in some places, but it’s easy to pick up controls, and the variety of wrestlers on the game, means a must for all wrestling fans.

Albert Park roars in the twilight

The Formula One season starts its 2009 in Melbourne, Australia at the Albert park street circuit this weekend, and for the first time in its history, it will be a twilight race, to ensure that European viewers can watch the race live, at a more convienent time for them. With new rules and guidelines, new drivers and teams, plus a later starting time, could make this version of the race, the most exciting race. Australian hopes lie with Mark Webber, who drives for Red Bull Racing. However, during the Mark Webber Challenge, held each year in Tasmania, Webber was struck by a four-wheel drive whilst on a mountain bike, and broke his leg. It hasnt affected his testing for Red Bull racing this year, but Webber says that is comfortable behind the wheel of his race car, and that the most trouble he has at the moment, is walking. For those, who may watch this race, look out for Ferrari’s pair of  Kimi Raikkonen from Finland, and Felipe Massa from Brazil, Briton Lewis Hamilton, who drives a McLaren Mercedes and Renault driver, Fernando Alonso of Spain, to be the front runners.

Thats it for the first installment of Wednesday Night Delight.  Your weekly fix is now complete.

  4. TNA Bound For Glory predictions

Well, after successfully predicting No Mercy earlier this month, I thought I’d give TNA predictions a shot.  I don’t expect them to be super accurate, because you never can tell what these TNA bookers are going to do…

TNA Championship:  Samoa Joe (C) vs. Sting

Joe is gonna kill you…  With the “no rematch” stipulation added this past Thursday on iMPACT, I don’t really expect to see Sting winning this – Joe’s just not ready to be pushed out of the main event.

Kurt Angle vs. Jeff Jarrett (Special Enforcer Mick Foley)

I don’t think we’ll see Angle win unless Foley turns on Jarrett.  Since he’s new on the scene, I don’t know if I see that happening – but at the same time, I can’t see why Foley would be on the side of the young guys in this whole “respect” thing.  Unless something drastic happens though, I’m taking Jarrett in this one.

Monster’s Ball Match for the World Tag Team Titles:  Beer Money Inc. (C) vs. LAX vs. Team 3D vs. Matt Morgan & Abyss

Quite frankly, I can see any of the four winning.  I expect to see Beer Money get their asses handed to them, but somehow manage to retain their titles.

    The Steel Asylum Match

Not sure who’s going to be in this match, but if they found somebody to replace Kaz in the role, I wouldn’t be surprised if Suicide debuts tonight and wins the match.  If not, I’m not sure who would be in this match, let alone who might win.

TNA Knockouts Championship:  Taylor Wilde (C) vs. Roxxi vs. Awesome Kong

Given recent events, where Taylor Wilde’s been feuding with The Beautiful People, and Roxxi’s been getting over on Kong, I’m going to give the nod, and JohnnyCraze if you’re reading this, remember that this is only a prediction, to Roxxi.

Christian Cage vs. AJ Styles vs. Booker T

I have no idea where they’re headed with this one.  Let’s say Cage.

X-Division Championship:  Shiek Abdul Bashir vs. Consequences Creed

I can’t stand the Bashir character.  That said, he’ll probably retain.

I won’t be around for the PPV tonight, but if you’re watching it, enjoy!

  5. TNA iMPACT 9/25/08

Tonight in the iMPACT Zone, Beer Money Inc and Jaqueline team up against LAX and Hector Guerrero, the losing team loses their manager.  Also, TNA World Champion Samoa Joe takes on X-Division Champion Shiek Abdul Bashir, AJ Styles takes on Booker T, and Abyss & Matt Morgan team up to face The Rock N’ Rave Infection.  All this, and Awesome Kong in action!

  6. TNA No Surrender 2008 Results (9/14/08)

I didn’t quite make it online to make predictions last night, but here are your quick results for TNA No Surrender 2008.

Sting announces that he has renewed his contract, and that at Bound For Glory next month, he’ll be facing the winner of tonight’s Four Ways To Glory match for the TNA Championship.  He then talks about the talent in TNA and the lack of respect shown to the veterans.

Booker T could not make it to the show due to Hurricane Ike.  We here at BWF wish Booker and his family the best and hope they make it through the storm safely.

The Prince Justice Brotherhood defeated The Rock and Rave Infection.  Christy Hemme was hit with the Chummer by Shark Boy during the match, and was attended to by Curry Man afterward.

Awesome Kong def. ODB in a Falls Count Anywhere match

Abyss & Matt Morgan def. Team 3D.  After the match, Team 3D take out Morgan with a chair.  When he comes to, he thinks it was Abyss who hit him.  The two argue before an upset Morgan leaves the ring.

Sheik Abdul Bashir def. Consequences Creed & Petey Williams in a three way match to become the new TNA X Division Champion.

Taylor Wilde def. Angelina Love to retain the TNA Knockouts Championship.

Sonjay Dutt def. Jay Lethal in a “Ladder Of Love” match when So Cal Val turned on Lethal.

Beer Money, Inc. def. LAX to retain the TNA Tag Team Championship.

AJ Styles vs. Frank Trigg in a Mixed Martial Arts Match went to a no contest when Styles hit Trigg with a Kendo Stick.

Samoa Joe def. Kurt Angle & Christian Cage in a Four Three Ways to Glory match to retain the TNA World Heavyweight Championship
