  1. At least you died in Philly – ECW, 7/22/08

I tuned in to ECW last night, and died a little inside.  As a fan of the original ECW, to see a new belt – especially one so hideous – replace the original ECW Championship, it kills me.  You might as well fire Tazz, Tommy Dreamer, and Little Guido while you’re at it, because the ECW I knew is one step closer to being 100% dead.  The worst part about it was, last night’s show was in Philly.  I miss Paul Heyman and Joey Styles.  I miss the hardcore style, and I miss the old ECW Championship belt.  As soon as the words “WORLD WRESTLING ENTERTAINMENT” became adorned on the ECW title, that was the absolute end of the ECW I knew and loved.  Especially since the show I’ve been watching on Tuesday nights for the last four weeks has pretty much sucked.

Whatever, I’ve got a job to do – ECW results and my thoughts, after the jump.

  3. Edge’s week from hell: SmackDown 7/4/08

Not your typical Fourth of July WWE show.  Sure, they had red, white, and blue ropes.  Sure, there was a Fourth of July Fatal Four Way for the US title.  Sure they opened with a video package celebrating our nation’s independence.  It’s just that, there wasn’t a real party atmosphere last night on SmackDown, particularly for a certain World Championship-less Canadian.  Edge showed up late for work, and was in a really bad mood, which only grew worse by the end of the night.  The Rated R Superstar had the worst Monday of his life this past week, and felt like everybody was against him when he came to work on Friday.  Why is that?  I guess you’ll have to read my whole SmackDown review to find out!

The whole review, after the jump.

  4. WWE Night of Champions review – 6/29/08

Well, for a while, folks on the World Wrestling Insanity message boards were calling me NostraJOEmas (or, NoJOEdamus if you prefer), because after 7 matches, I’d correctly predicted all 7, including Kofi Kingston taking the Intercontinental Championship from Chris Jericho.  My fellow WWI posters were asking me for lottery numbers and the dates of their deaths.  Then John Cena lost to Triple H.  SmackDown left Night of Champions the same way it came in – the home of two World Champions.  RAW’s top champion, Kane, lost his title to ECW’s Mark Henry.  So, that begs the question, where does RAW go from here?

But, that’s a story for another article.  Get analysis of Night of Champions after the jump!
