  1. WWE Bragging Rights results

This is going to be a quick post, since I haven’t actually seen most of the PPV.  We’re looking for somebody to cover the WWE Pay-Per-View events starting with Survivor Series next month, so if you’re interested, let us know on Twitter or Facebook or Myspace or wherever.

    Anyways…

    The Miz def. John Morrison

    RAW leads 1-0

Michelle McCool, Beth Phoenix, and Natalya def. Melina, Gail Kim, and Kelly Kelly

    We’re now tied at 1

The Undertaker def. Batista, Rey Mysterio, & CM Punk to retain the World Heavyweight Championship

After the match, Batista destroyed Rey Mysterio

    Team SmackDown def. Team RAW

The Big Show turned on RAW, chokeslamming Kofi Kingston and allowing Jericho to pick up the win.

John Cena def. Randy Orton 6 – 5

This match was far better than I’d expected – at least, what I saw of it.  Orton tried everything to keep Cena down, including trying to blow him up in the pyro, but Cena wouldn’t stay down.  At one point, the doctors superglued a cut on Cena’s forehead to close up the wound.  Somewhere, Sabu is laughing his ass off.  In any event, with the score tied at 5, Cena locked in the STF and got the tapout with just five seconds remaining.  From what I understand, the clock kept running despite the fact that there should have been a 30 second rest period as there was through the duration of the rest of the match.  Ah well.  Guess I’ll be seeing Cena in Buffalo tomorrow night after all.

That’s it for tonight, folks.  Join us tomorrow as our Empress of Impact, Drowgoddess, becomes our Reina of RAW!  I’ll have photos and thoughts from the HSBC Arena sometime after the event, so stay tuned for that as well.

  2. Why I hate: WWE Armageddon

This article is the 10th and final part of a series on WWE Pay Per View events.  See also:  Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, Part 6, Part 7, Part 8, and Part 9.

Wow.  This is it, the end of this long series on WWE Pay Per View.  How fitting is it that it ends with Armageddon.  The last WWE Pay Per View of the year and the only one between Survivor Series and Royal Rumble.

  3. Why I hate: WWE Cyber Sunday

This article is part 9 of a series on WWE Pay Per View events.  See also:  Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, Part 6, Part 7, and Part 8.

WWE Fans tend to think that they’re just as much a part of the show as the performers in the ring.  To an extent, they are.  A hot crowd can make a mediocre match feel like a five star classic.  Fans reactions to performers can even influence how the Superstars’ careers turn out.  Steve Austin is a prime example of a guy who promoters didn’t know what to do with until the crowd got behind him and made him, arguably, one of the biggest names in the history of the industry.  Make no mistake about it, if the fans didn’t get behind him, he wouldn’t be going into the Hall of Fame in a couple of weeks.  So since the fans are an important part of the show anyway, why not give them the book, right?

  4. Why I hate: WWE No Mercy

This article is part 8 of a series on WWE Pay Per View events.  See also:  Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, Part 6, and Part 7.

We’re almost done with our series on WWE Pay Per View events.  We’ve already discussed seven out of the 10 events outside of “The Big Four,” and after this week’s article on No Mercy, we’ll have just two events left to talk about.

  5. Why I hate: WWE Unforgiven

This article is part 7 of a series on WWE Pay Per View events.  See also:  Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, and Part 6.

For a secondary Pay Per View, Unforgiven has seen it’s share of big matches. It even got a cool new match associated with it last year, the Championship Scramble.  Still, it’s not making the cut of my reimagined WWE Pay Per View Calendar.

  6. Why I Hate: WWE Great American Bash

This article is part 6 of a series on WWE Pay Per View events.  See also:  Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, and Part 5.

The Great American Bash has a history all it’s own, and most of it has nothing to do with World Wrestling Entertainment.  For WWE to try to capitalize on the legacy associated with this event is completely understandable. It still needs to hit the chopping block.

  7. Why I DON’T hate: WWE Night of Champions

This article is part 5 of a series on WWE Pay Per View events.  See also:  Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, and Part 4.

While the rest of this series has been (and will be for the remaining articles) titled “Why I hate,” I can’t justify that title for this particular article.  If this event was still called Vengeance, and was just another interchangable WWE PPV, it would probably fall into the hate category, but I actually like this event.

  8. Why I hate: WWE Judgment Day

This is part three of what should be a ten part series on WWE Pay Per View events.  If this is your first time reading this series, please check out part one – “Why I  hate:  No Way Out” and part two – “Why I hate:  WWE Backlash

Having already stated my case against No Way Out and Backlash, two events that I feel strongly about because of their placement on the calendar in relation to WrestleMania, it may be difficult to write about Judgement Day.  Started as an In Your House event in October of 1998, the annual May Pay Per View event almost seems pointless to me.

  9. Why I hate: Backlash

This is the second part in a series on WWE Pay Per View events.  If you haven’t read it already, check out the first part,  “Why I hate:  No Way Out”.

Last week, I introduced this series of articles with a brief history of WWE Pay Per View, and discussed my reasons against Feburary’s No Way Out event (which, coincidentally, is one week from today).  This week, we’ll take a look at the Backlash event, which will have it’s 10th annual event on April 26th.
