The War On.. Three Year AnniversariesBy ThatDamnDoubleC · · 6 Comments
In the last episode, there was a poll. However, for keen listeners of the show, they would’ve realized that the poll in question, lead to absolutely nothing. Now, there’s a perfectly good reason for that. For you see, I am no longer a wrestling fan, and before you go on about how this is a wrestling website and only wrestling-related material can be on this website, nobody can remember my columns, or pieces of writing with as many random video links as possible, as they are more known for. I don’t care for the business anymore, nor have I for a long time now, which is why no-one has heard from me in written form anywhere.. until this special occasion.
For you see, when this website was created back in June of 2008, a group of teenagers with attitude, were recruited from the wise-sage Zordon, with help from his robotic assistant, Alpha, to defend Earth from such evil forces as Rita Repulsa and Lord Zedd. History might have it, that this group of teenagers with attitude, were known as the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. However, none of them were in fact teenagers, and rather than defend Earth, they created this website, after sitting around talking to themselves every Thursday night. Then, on the 25th day of the third month of the year 2009 A.D., they found assistance from a wise, young Australian, with the ability to post random video links into various columns and reviews. This is where the Wednesday column started.
For the next 14 months, Wednesdays were taken over by random video links, and rants about everything from wrestling, to Brett Fav-re, to just about anything you can think of, and surprisingly, this piece is no different. For example..
Did anyone tell the Vancouver Canucks that they were playing Game Three of the Stanley Cup finals against the Boston Bruins? The Bruins ran through them like they were standing still.. besides Aaron Rome, who decided to get himself suspended for the remainder of the series, due to taking out Nathan Horton behind the puck. For those who missed Game Three.. Boston won 8-1, there was 115 minutes of penalties, and the only way I can describe it, is that if the Bruins play that physical for the rest of the series, Lord Stanley will be paraded in Boston after Game Six.
I hate the Miami Heat. I’m not a fan of LeBron James, not a fan of Dwayne Wade, not a fan of Chris Bosh.. and I feel bad for Mike Miller, whom I do like, because he’s in that team. I hope that the Mavericks can win the Title. Not only to see Mark Cuban go nuts, but so that Darko Milicic will continue to have more Championship rings, than LeBron.
Nintendo announced their new console, the WiiU. Is it just me..or does WiiU sound like some kind of alarm going off? WiiU WiiU WiiU WiiU. Anything even associated with the Wii will always be a gimmick in my eyes. This product is meant to compete against the Sony PS3 and the Xbox 360.. and yet, it’s just another attempt at innovation by Nintendo. Why couldn’t there be a sequel to the GameCube? Why does Sony’s new handheld console, ‘the Vita’ sound like it’s a brand of orange juice, as opposed to a gaming device? Why can’t SEGA bring out another console, and bring me another Alex Kidd game so that I can be truly happy? I miss games like Alex Kidd in Miracle World and Alex Kidd in Shinobi World.. I really do.
Well, that is about it, for this piece. I thank Joe, JT and Drow, for allowing me to not only enter their conversations on Thursday nights, but allowing me to rant about whatever the hell I feel like. To everyone else who has ever contributed to BWF, sorry, but I’ve forgotten everyone who has, but thank you anyway. To all the twitter followers of the place, I don’t have a Twitter, nor do I want to have one. I do however, have a butterfly.
But everyone should follow this place, so that when you next check it, you will realize, that for one day only.. you will wonder what the hell happened to that wrestling site you once know and loved, and who put this idiot here with all this non-wrestling coco jamboo instead. Also, my regards to Ben Stein, Sara Rue and Brody Stevens, we might fit them in another column somewhere. Maybe? Probably not.
And on that bombshell, it’s time to end with this.. powerslide.
