On June 22, 1996, Pitbull #2 was upended in a match for the ECW World Television Championship. It was his opponent’s first championship in North America, and announcer Joey Styles noted that fact, stating that while it may have been his first title in the United States, it sure wouldn’t be his last. Little did he know how right he’d be.

Welcome, lads and lasses. it’s Wednesday once again, which means another column from yours truly. Before I get into it, I have to mention something my eleven year old brother told me, after watching the WWE draft. He says that every draft pick made was ‘shocking’. But it’s his descriptions of two trades in particular that got my attention. He describes RAW’s draft pick of Triple H as a ‘rockbreaker’, and SmackDown’s draft pick of Chris Jericho as a ‘Poosmasher’. Now, I dont know what in the hell that means, but that has to be the weirdest description of the draft I have ever heard. Until now.
For those playing at home, the WWE Draft was this past Monday night for all you American viewers, and for those expecting Mel Kiper Jr., i’m sorry to say, you were sadly disappointed. With everyone trying to work out which superstar will end up where, I went to the King of Drafts, Mel Kiper Jr. for his thoughts. Mel Kiper’s Draft picks.
The WWE Supplemental Draft airs today at 12PM, and rather than post the results here (I have connections), Joe will bring you the results LIVE, exclusive to BoredWrestlingFan! (then they will appear on every other wrestling website you can find). Although, I will give you one hint. ECW will draft more people than they did in the LIVE draft Monday night.
What else has happened in the wrestling world. TNA have a PPV coming up.
I wish they would air ROH’s weekly show in Australia. I have been wanting to see some real wrestling for a long, long time, and now they tease me with showing ROH in the US. The hell with watching it online. I want to watch it on my TV screen. Make this right.
Got a girlfriend’s birthday coming up? Maybe an anniversary? You just cant find the perfect gift? Listen to my friends the Lonely Island, and with help from the famous JT, they show you the perfect birthday present.
I still have no entries for the competition I started in last week’s column. I don’t want a hundred entries, I’d be happy with one, so I can declare a winner and move on with life, but you people just want this to hang over my head for a few weeks. I’ll let it slide this time, but next time. Well, I may not be as friendly.
Finally, for this Wednesday, I’m going to talk about the UEFA Champions League. Football you ask? Soccer you ask more? Why are you ending your column about that? Simple. My favourite club side. FC Bayern Munchen of Germany played in the Second Leg of the Quarter Finals against FC Barcelona of Spain. Now, Barcelona had a 4-0 lead from the First Leg in Spain, and with the return leg in Germany, Baywern couldnt get the job done, only being able to provide a 1-1 draw. Meanwhile, in the other game, two English clubs, Chelsea and Liverpool squared off at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea’s home ground. In the first leg, Chelsea managed to beat Liverpool, at Liverpool’s home ground by a score of 3-1. I could tell you what happened in the second leg between these two sides, but instead, the match was so good, I have decided to show you all the highlights. Enjoy.
That’s it for another week. Keep your browser at BoredWrestlingFan.com for the latest and greatest in all things of the world.
Welcome lads, lasses and haemaphs. It’s me once again, on yet another Wednesday, fresh off Real-Time for WrestleMania XXV. For those who didnt catch it, then read the thread, situated just a couple of posts down. For those that did, then let’s continue.
If you remember, my head and my heart gave their predictions for WMXXV. Well the results are in! My head picked a grand total of … 2! Undertaker, and the 25th Diva, Santina Marella. My heart on the other hand, didnt get all 9, but still beat my head. My heart picked 4. Triple H, Chris Jericho, Santina Marella and Matt Hardy. These results leave one question. Is it better to pick with your head, or your heart? When it came to WMXXV? Your heart was the one you should’ve went for.
Onto non-Wrestlemania news. Batista is back.
Onto news that people will care about, Tank Johnson has signed a 1-year deal with the Bengals. The same Tank Johnson who, well I’ll let his Wikipedia page tell you. The link is the following: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tank_Johnson.
With Lockdown less than two weeks away, the only match I care about, is of course the Tag Title match between Team 3D and the one and only, Beer Money Inc. The rest of the card can go to hell. Anything that involves Kurt Angle, I’m trying to ignore him, in an attempt he goes away. It hasnt worked so far, but these things don’t happen overnight.
Finally, in conjuction with vincerussowatcheshisbeardgrow.com, I am starting a competition. It’s based on this commercial for Roses chocolates Commercial. In it, it says that by thanking someone, you give them a box of Roses chocolates. For example, Thank you very much for watering my garden, and you give them chocolates. What this competititon is, well, it’s simple. What’s the most inapproapriate thing you can think of, yet be thanked with Roses chocolates?
Thank you very much for … then you add the rest.
For those who dont understand, I’ll give you a few examples. Thank you very much for … killing my family. Thank you very much for … making me sit through a Kurt Angle match. Now, those examples cant be used, but surely you can come up with better ones than that. The competiton ends soon, so get a-creating.
Thats all for this Wednesday, I have been the one they call ‘Legend Killer’, asking you, Would you like some knives?
We’re on the final stretch of the Road to WrestleMania. There’s just a little bit more scenery to take in before we hit the exit ramp and head to Reliant Stadium for the biggest show of them all. Speaking of The Big Show, he’s taking on John Cena tonight! What else is happening? I guess you’ll find out when I will!
Welcome to WrestleMania week here on BoredWrestlingFan.com! We’re working overtime this week to bring you WrestleMania related articles throughout the week, and this one is just the first. I want to take the opportunity to talk about the way that I would have booked WrestleMania, starting from the Royal Rumble. Some things would have still played out the way that they have, but other things would have been much different.
WWE Fans tend to think that they’re just as much a part of the show as the performers in the ring. To an extent, they are. A hot crowd can make a mediocre match feel like a five star classic. Fans reactions to performers can even influence how the Superstars’ careers turn out. Steve Austin is a prime example of a guy who promoters didn’t know what to do with until the crowd got behind him and made him, arguably, one of the biggest names in the history of the industry. Make no mistake about it, if the fans didn’t get behind him, he wouldn’t be going into the Hall of Fame in a couple of weeks. So since the fans are an important part of the show anyway, why not give them the book, right?
I present my arguments against WWE Cyber Sunday, after the jump! (more…)
Tonight on Raw from the AT&T center In San Antonio Texas, it’s tag team action as Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker will take on Vladimir Kozlov and JBL. Also tonight, another must see as Chris Jericho challenges WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair to come out of retirement and face him in a match, as Raw continues on the road to The WrestleMania 25!
HBK takes on Vladimir Kozlov and… well… um… that’s all we know! WWE’s been putting on some decent shows lately, let’s hope this one doesn’t disappoint.
I lazily review the show – after the jump! (more…)
