  2. WrestleMania V: The Mega Powers Explode

This is it!  BoredWrestlingFan’s WrestleMania week is in full swing, which kicked off with the WrestleMania 29 prediction podcast.  My contribution to WrestleMania week this year will be reviews of the first six WrestleMania events, which started Monday with 1985′s WrestleMania, and will finish up Saturday with a review of WrestleMania VI.  And don’t forget to tune in to BoredWrestlingFan Radio this Sunday at 2PM Eastern as I will be reporting LIVE from Met Life Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ, the site of WrestleMania XXIX!

WrestleMania V, the Mega Powers Explode!  I’d just started to really get in to pro wrestling around this time.  In fact, the Saturday Night’s Main Event where Hogan and Savage split up over the tag team match they had against the Twin Towers may be one of the first wrestling shows I really remember watching.  We didn’t order this one on PPV, but I rented it on VHS as soon as it came out.  I distinctly remember a lot of this show, which is surprising, since I can barely remember any of last year’s WrestleMania.  Oh well, let’s roll!

The BWF Radio crew is back to discuss another week in professional wrestling.  We talk RAW, IMPACT, SmackDown, No Surrender, ROH iPPV, and Night of Champions.  We take time to wish Jerry “The King” Lawler well as we discuss his heart attack from this past Monday’s RAW.  We talk about Sunny being arrested three times in three days, and WWE’s decision to sponsor her rehab – again.  We discuss our love of Team Friendship, our hatred of earlier WWE video games’ “Create A Belt” feature, and we issue a warning to not accept a facebook friend request from somebody who looks like Maria Kanellis because it may wind up getting you killed.  All this and much, much more here on Bored Wrestling Fan Radio, Episode 40!

  4. Jerry “The King” Lawler suffers heart attack

Earlier tonight, Jerry “The King” Lawler collapsed at the commentary booth during a match on WWE Monday Night RAW.   Medical personal were able to get to him immediately, and throughout the night we were updated on The King’s condition.  The last on-air report from Michael Cole was that Jerry Lawler was breathing on his own, and that his heart was beating on it’s own, and that Jerry was being prepped for a CAT scan.

The latest word we’ve had from our sources indicate that the collapse was the result of a heart attack.  On behalf of the entire BoredWrestlingFan staff, I’d like to wish Jerry Lawler a speedy recovery.  Get well soon, Jerry.  Our thoughts are with you.

Bored Wrestling Fan is proud to present an interview with Kyle Davis of Metroplex Wrestling, and Pro Championship Wrestling. He took some time out of his day while watching a Texas Rangers game (our audio producer had Ghostbusters 2 on his television). Davis recounts his experience starting out volunteering during his high school days into his current role as a creative mind in the modern era of territory/independent wrestling.

He goes on to tackle a number of controversial topics related to him, as well as the state of wrestling in 2012. From baseball, to Jerry “The King” Lawler… From multiple ring personas, to why the story line aspect of wrestling being essential to garnering attention… From the Walking Dead, to his thoughts on heat he’s generated recently due to his comments, Davis holds nothing back in a candid interview conducted by Bored Wrestling Fan’s own Justin Ruff. This interview is a must-listen! We teased in on Sunday’s BWF Radio #18, and now it’s time to get to the real deal. It’s time to bring legitimacy back the professional wrestling.

  9. Power Poll for the Week Ending: 2/2/11

In the week following the Royal Rumble, all eyes in wrestling certainly would be on the winner of that said event. While amongst the dirt sheets, there is much argument about the value of a Rumble win in lieu of the Elimination Chamber PPV hurting it’s credibility. But that, is an argument for another day. There was also a RAW rumble match of significance this week, with the winner going on to face the Miz for the title. These two events will have significantly influenced this weeks poll.
