Another week. But this is the first week of the New Year, and let’s see how things round out to kick off 2011. Hopefully, we’ll be able to compare this next year to the rankings to start off 2012… but until then:

  2. Power Poll 11/17/10

The Power Poll has been taken over by Don Owens of Future-Endeavors.com, and we here at BoredWrestlingFan would like to welcome him here in his first week…

    1. Wade Barrett  (last week:  1)

The leader of the Nexus proved he can win matches on his own with a victory over R-Truth, and proved he’s in control of The Nexus by forcing John Cena to don the black and yellow t-shirt this past Monday on RAW.  (My vote: 1)

    2. Randy Orton (3)

The WWE Champion RKO’d anything that moved on Monday Night, but failed to take out John Cena, perhaps his biggest threat this Sunday at Survivor Series.  (My vote: 2)

    3. Edge (2)

The Rated R Superstar failed to exile David Otunga from The Nexus thanks to interference from Kane.  However, Edge had the last laugh when he kidnapped Paul Bearer and caused enough of a distraction for The Big Show to pick up a victory over the World Heavyweight Champion.  (My vote: 3)

    4. John Cena  (6)

After easily defeating Alex Riley in a match, Cena not only avoided being punted in the head by Randy Orton, he managed to hit him with an Attitude Adjustment – followed by one for Wade Barrett.  (My vote: N/A)

    5. Kane  (5)

A loss for the World Heavyweight Champion, even if it was because of a distraction from Edge, leaves him at number 5.  (My vote: 4)

    6. Daniel Bryan  (9)

The American Dragon impressed voters this week by holding off SmackDown’s All American American, Jack Swagger on RAW.  (My vote:  9)

    7. Alberto Del Rio  (7)

His name is Alberto Del Rio, but of course, you already knew that.  A victory over Sergeant Slaughter on RAW capped off a good week for Alberto, who defeated Kofi Kingston on SmackDown, was announced by Tito Santana, and was driven into the arena by Chavo Classic.  (My vote:  7)

    8. Dolph Ziggler (NR)

Apparently, appearing on both shows and winning helps big time in the Power Poll, because Dolph Ziggler retained his Intercontinental Championship against MVP on Friday and put Sexual Chocolate Mark Henry to sleep on Monday.  (My vote: N/A)

    9. Jeff Hardy (8)

TNA’s World Champion is the only thing that keeps them on this poll sometimes.  And here, Jeff Hardy is hanging out near the bottom with his ugly new Immortal Championship.  (My vote: 5)

    10. Santino  (10)

Two weeks running for Santino?   Holy crap!  Hanging out with The Iron Sheik and defeating the Usos through use of The Cobra(!!!!) will definitely get you votes here on the Power Poll! (My vote:  6)

    Dropped Out: The Miz

I also voted for: Ezekiel Jackson (8) and Jim Ross (10)

    Power Poll No. 23 11/10/10

    1. Wade Barrett (5)

Barrett’s assertive leadership over The Nexus has gained him more power amongst the Power Poll voters.  (My vote: 2)

    2. Edge (2)

On the face side of the proverbial fence again, Edge has once again started to run roughshod over the Blue Brand.  Pinning David Otunga to give Team SmackDown the victory over The Nexus helps The Rated R Superstar maintain his position at number two.  (My vote:  6)

    3. Randy Orton (3)

The voices in his head may not be enough come Survivor Series with the odds stacked firmly against him.  Despite finding himself on the losing end of a Wade Barrett pinfall victory for Nexus, The Viper stands strong at number 3.  (My vote: 5)

    4. The Miz (7)

How do you bounce back up the ranks of the Power Poll?  Dropping the WWE Champion skull first into the canvas when you’re supposed to be his partner certainly helps.  (My vote:  4)

    5. Kane (1)

The World Heavyweight Champion drops way down this week, finding himself on the winning end of a tag team match that was dominated by another member of his team, who happens to be his Survivor Series opponent. (My vote: 9)

    6. John Cena (6)

Hilarious promos and wins over future endeavor fodder are fun sometimes, but not when you’re John Cena, apparently, as Mr. Invisible once again charts at number 6.  (My vote: 3)

    7. Alberto Del Rio (10)

Del Rio continues to impress the Power Poll voters every week, and has found his way back up to number 7.  (My vote:  N/A)

    8. Jeff Hardy (9)

Despite having to face Matt Morgan instead of his scheduled opponent Mr. Anderson, Jeff Hardy shined in the main event at Turning Point, retaining his gold in the process. (My vote: 7)

    9. Daniel Bryan (4)

With yet another strong showing in a big match setting, Daniel Bryan continues to show the world that he is the absolute best at what he does.  (My vote: N/A)

    10. Santino Marella (NR)

Living proof that non-wrestling segments can be just as – if not more – entertaining as the matches on a wrestling show, Santino’s tea party with “Shay-moose” was hilarious enough to boost the Milan Miracle – for the first time, I’m willing to bet – onto the Power Poll (My vote: 1)

    Dropped out: Matt Morgan

I also voted for: Rob Van Dam (8) and Vladimir Kozlov (10)

  4. Power Poll 11/3/10

    Power Poll No. 22 11/3/10

    1. Kane (1)

I was looking at an issue of WWE Magazine from a couple months back and saw an ad for Night of Champions with Kane holding the World Heavyweight Championship, and I’ve realized how far Kane has come in the last few months since he started this storyline with The Undertaker.  He’s consistently cutting some of the best promos on WWE television, and his eulogy for his brother was strong enough to keep him at the top of the Power Poll.  (My vote: 2)

    2. Edge (6)

The Rated R Superstar still manages to thrive in a PG setting, defeating Alberto Del Rio and Rey Mysterio in a triple threat match this past Friday on SmackDown to become the number one contender to the aforementioned Kane’s World Heavyweight Championship.  (My vote: 1)

    3. Randy Orton (4)

The Viper may well be screwed this Sunday at Survivor Series, but didn’t seem that way when he led himself and R-Truth to victory over Wade Barrett and David Otunga this past Monday with special guest referee John Cena.  (My vote: 3)

    4. Daniel Bryan (3)

Kill the wabbit, kill the wabbit, kill the waaaaabit!  Dolph Ziggler on Friday, Ted DiBiase on Monday, who’s next to tap out to the WWE United States Champion? (My vote: 7)

    5. Wade Barrett (2)

With John Cena stuck between the proverbial rock and hard place, things are looking good for Barrett as Survivor Series draws nearer, despite a loss this past Monday in tag team action. (My vote:  6)

    6. John Cena (5)

Despite being Wade Barrett’s errand boy, John Cena continues to impress the Power Poll voters with great promos and body language.  (My vote:  N/A)

    7. The Miz (7)

Despite not making any effort to cash it in as of late, The Miz is not letting anybody forget that he’s still got that Money In The Bank briefcase.  Isn’t that right, Big Show?  (My vote: N/A)

    8. Matt Morgan (NR)

Matt Morgan standing up for an injured Mr. Anderson has endeared him to the fans, Christopher Nowinski, and Power Poll voters alike.  (My vote: 5)

    9. Jeff Hardy (8)

The self proclaimed new AntiChrist of professional wrestling, Jeff Hardy, may not have seen much in ring action on last week’s iMPACT, but the video packages kept him, and what he did at Bound For Glory, fresh in our minds.  (My vote: 4)

    10. Alberto Del Rio (NR)

Interrupting Kane?  Now that takes some juevos.  Alberto Del Rio steps back up and jumps back in to the top 10 this week.  (My vote: N/A)

Dropped out: Dolph Ziggler, Big Show

Also voted on by me: Sheamus (8), Santino (9), and Big Show (10)

  5. Power Poll 10/27/10

Oops!  I forgot about the poll this week – so here’s the poll complete with commentary from Jason Mann of Wrestlespective!

    Power Poll No. 21 10/27/10

    1.  Kane (Last week: 6)

The champion of the world rises again to the top of the Power Poll after burying his brother alive. (See what I did there?)

    2. Wade Barrett (1)

It may have been a technicality, but he beat the WWE champion in a pay-per-view main event. That’s something.

    3. Daniel Bryan (10)

Give him 15 minutes with someone competent and you’ll probably get the match of the night.

    4. Randy Orton (3)

The WWE champion is losing some steam after a string of so-so matches. But he’s still the champ.

    5. John Cena (7)

He was half of the WWE tag champions for a day, but that’s probably not something that’s going to help your ranking in 2010.

    6. Edge (4)

Pretty much the star of the Bragging Rights match, winning several falls including the deciding one.

    7. The Miz (5)

Bounced back from his Bragging Rights disappointment with a Raw win over R-Truth.

    8. Jeff Hardy (8)

His brother has been making more news than he has, but the TNA champion’s stock is still pretty high.

    9. Dolph Ziggler (NR)

    Someone competent.

    10. Big Show (2)

Led his Bragging Rights team to victory, even if he wasn’t there to enjoy the spoils the end.

    Dropped out: Undertaker

  6. Power Poll 10/20/10

I haven’t been voting the last couple of weeks, for whatever reason, and I apologize for not getting the poll up here on BWF last week, but here we go with this week’s!

    1. Wade Barrett (Last week: 1)

Abusing his power over John Cena and The Nexus and utterly destroying the WWE Champion leaves Wade Barrett number one on the Power Poll for the second straight week.

    2. Big Show (NR)

The Big Show led the entire SmackDown roster into RAW and led them to victory (along with Edge) over the RAW roster in a battle royal.  Huge momentum for the World’s Largest Athlete heading into Bragging Rights on Sunday.

    3. Randy Orton (3)

The Viper teamed with John Cena to defeat Husky Harris and Michael McGuillicutty, but his failure to fight off The Nexus after the match leaves Randy Orton at number 3.

    4. Edge (9)

So much for Smurfette – Edge saved The Big Show from certain elimination and helped win the battle royal for Team SmackDown Monday night.

    5. The Miz (2)

Having the testicular fortitude to face The Big Show in a one on one matchup and then lasting as long as he did in the battle royal probably didn’t do as much for The Miz’s standing on the Poll as his Smurfy promo against Team SmackDown.

    6. Kane (4)

The Big Red Monster was nowhere to be found Monday Night when SmackDown invaded RAW, but neither was his brother The Undertaker, so I suppose that’s not that surprising.  As long as he is the World Champion, it seems Kane has a spot in the top 10.  Will that continue after the buried alive match?

    7. John Cena (6)

Cena’s subservience to Wade Barrett continues to push him further down the Power Poll.  What I don’t get is why Cena looked upset Monday Night while the rest of Nexus destroyed his long time rival Randy Orton.  Oh well.

    8. Jeff Hardy (5)

It goes to show that as long as you’re a World Champion, you’re likely to be on the Power Poll.  Of course, Hardy, despite slipping this week, is still riding that wave of momentum that winning a title will get you in this voting process.  We’ll see what he does on iMPACT this week and see where he winds up on next week’s poll.

    9. Undertaker (NR)

All the Undertaker has to do is make an appearance, and it seems that he’ll make the Power Poll.  That’s the power of the Phenom.

    10. Daniel Bryan (NR)

The WWE United States Champion made the WWE Intercontinental Champion tap out Monday on RAW, and then busted a move with the smart, sexy, and powerful WWE Divas.  Bragging rights are on the line this Sunday!

Dropped out: C.M. Punk, Sheamus, Rey Mysterio

  7. Power Poll 10/7/10

    1. Randy Orton (Last week: 1)

The Viper continues to dominate the Power Poll with a victory over Sheamus in a grueling Hell In A Cell match to retain the WWE Championship  (My vote:  1)

    2. Kane (2)

The Devil’s Favorite Demon is also the Father of Destruction’s favorite son, as proven by Paul Bearer’s assistance in Kane’s victory over his half brother The Undertaker at Hell In A Cell.  (My vote:  5)

    3. Wade Barrett (8)

The leader of Nexus finds himself up five spots this week following a victory over John Cena that forced Cena to be a part of the Nexus.  Using his new authority over Cena’s career to help himself win the battle royal and become number one contender for Randy Orton’s WWE Championship didn’t hurt, either.  (My vote: 2)

    4. John Cena (4)

Even I ranked John Cena high on my ballot this week, despite his loss to Wade Barrett at Hell In A Cell.  Cena played his role as the conflicted hero forced to join the enemy better than anybody thought he could.  Legendary is available on DVD and BluRay at Walmart, I saw it, I enjoyed it, so I’ll plug it here!  (My vote: 3)

    5. Daniel Bryan (5)

The WWE United States Champion successfully defended his title in a triple threat, submissions count anywhere match at Hell In A Cell against John Morrison and The Miz, in what I consider a Match of the Year candidate.  One would have to think that if he hadn’t been beaten so handily by Sheamus this past Monday night on RAW, Bryan’s rank would have gone up.  (My vote:  8)

    6. Edge (10)

Edge’s war on stupidity ran over three of the nights that this week’s poll covers.  On SmackDown he ruined Jack Swagger’s celebration, spearing his eagle mascot.  At Hell In A Cell, he interrupted Alberto Del Rio and then defeated Swagger in an impromptu match.  His momentum came crashing to a halt on RAW, after being traded to SmackDown and then receiving a beatdown from The Miz and Alex Riley.  (My vote:  4)

    7. The Miz (6)

Mr. Money in the Bank tapped out at Hell In A Cell, but redeemed himself with the destruction of Edge, while saving Michael Cole, on RAW.  (My vote:  9)

    8. Sheamus (7)

Sheamus may have lost at Hell in a Cell, but his impressive showing in his match with Randy Orton and his subsequent decimation of Daniel Bryan the following night on RAW allow the Celtic Warrior to stay in the top 10.  (My vote:  7)

    9. Undertaker (3)

With Paul Bearer by his side last week, The Undertaker rose from the depths of wherever anybody that doesn’t make the Power Poll goes to hit number three, but drops to number nine as Paul Bearer has now aligned himself with Kane and cost The Undertaker the World Heavyweight Championship.  (My vote:  10)

    10. Alberto Del Rio (NR)

His name is Alberto Del Rio!  But you, you already knew that.  After mocking Rey Mysterio with an actual chihuahua on SmackDown, Del Rio attacked The Rated R Superstar from behind at Hell In A Cell, putting Edge at a distinct disadvantage in his match with Jack Swagger.  (My vote:  N/A)

    Dropped out: C.M. Punk

Also voted on by me: John Morrison (6)

  8. Power Poll 9/29/10: Well, he urn-ed it!

Thank you, thank you, thank you to Jason Mann of Wrestlespective for using one of my favorite old Bobby Heenan jokes for the title of this week’s Power Poll.  Ready?  Here we go!

Power Poll 9/29/10: Well, he urn-ed it!

    1. Randy Orton (Last week: 1)

The Viper has set a record for most weeks at number one on the Power Poll – which, given the short time frame that the poll has been around, isn’t nearly as impressive as it sounds.  Still, the WWE Champion manages to hang on to the top spot this week with his dismantling of Chris Jericho on RAW.  (My vote: 2)

    2. Kane (3)

The World Heavyweight Champion moves up a spot this week to number two after destroying Chris Masters and calling out his brother The Undertaker on SmackDown.  (My vote: 7)

    3. Undertaker (NR)

Speaking of The Undertaker, the power of the urn returns to him in the form of Paul Bearer at his side.  Finally shifting the balance of power to his half of the dark side, the Phenom jumps from obscurity to the number 3 spot on the Power Poll (My vote:  4)

    4. John Cena (5)

Let the instant replay in professional wrestling debate begin!  The anonymous General Manager of RAW restarted Cena’s match with Edge after the Rated R Superstar pinned Cena with his foot under the bottom rope, leading to an STF victory for Cena.  The GM, on the other hand, wasn’t so lucky… (My vote: NR)

    5. Daniel Bryan (2)

The United States Champion may have bit off more than he can chew when he inadvertently hit tag team partner John Morrison following their loss on Monday.  He now finds himself in a triple threat match with former WWE Tag Team Champions at Hell In A Cell.  (My vote:  NR)

    6. The Miz (4)

He’s The Miz, and he pinned Bryan Daniel clean this past Monday on RAW.  The second part of the US Championship triple threat at Hell in a Cell, Mr. Money In The Bank drops two spots this week.  (My vote:  9)

    7. Sheamus (10)

The former WWE Champion must’ve done something to redeem himself this week, since he’s moved back up three slots to number seven.  Destroying The Great Khali, even if it was with chairs, will do that, fella!  (My vote: 5)

    8. Wade Barrett (8)

The leader of the Nexus coached the team of Heath Slater and Justin Gabriel to victory over Evan Bourne and Mark Henry, then joined in on the post match beatdown of Bourne.  He faces John Cena at Hell In A Cell – can he win and prevent Nexus from disbanding?  (My vote:  NR)

    9. CM Punk (NR)

With an out of nowhere victory over former Straight Edge Society running buddy Luke Gallows, CM Punk returns to the Power Poll.  (My vote:  3)

    10. Edge (NR)

After having a pinfall victory overturned by the anonymous General Manager, the Rated R Superstar finally had enough and destroyed the GM’s computer.  Maybe now we’ll finally find out who the GM is.  (My vote: 1)

    Dropped out:
Alberto Del Rio, Dolph Ziggler, John Morrison

  9. Power Poll 9/22/10: American Made

    Power Poll 9/22/10

    1. Randy Orton (Last week: 1)

As if there were any question.  The Viper has been topping the Power Poll regularly without the WWE Championship, and now that he’s got the title he’s got to be unstoppable on this thing.  His show opening promo with Sheamus was one of very few highlights on this past Monday’s RAW.  (My vote: 1)

    2. Daniel Bryan (9)

Once again proving that a championship victory means a lot to the members of the Power Poll voting committee, Daniel Bryan jets up the ranks by taking the United States Championship from his former NXT pro The Miz.  (My vote: 4)

    3. Kane (2)

It’s a rare occasion for any superstar to have The Undertaker’s number, and it finally seems as if Kane may have joined that elite group as he retains the World Heavyweight Championship at Night of Champions.  (My vote: 9)

    4. The Miz (10)

Even in defeat, The Miz catapults up the Power Poll this week.  Mr. Money In The Bank looked strong in his loss at Night of Champions, and his beatdown of Daniel Bryan on RAW certainly helped him regain any lost respect.  (My vote: 3)

    5. John Cena (3)

I could’ve sworn I voted for Cena this week in the poll, but apparently not.  It doesn’t help him as he drops two spots, despite defeating a majority of The Nexus members on RAW.  (My vote:  NR)

    6. Alberto Del Rio (5)

Not much from Alberto Del Rio this week, but he’s doing his job well enough that we haven’t forgotten him.  (My vote: 8)

    7. Dolph Ziggler (NR)

Retaining his Intercontinental Championship against all odds at Night of Champions, Dolph Ziggler earns enough votes to get himself onto the Power Poll.  (My vote:  NR)

    8. Wade Barrett (NR)

A strong showing at Night of Champions and the prospect of forcing John Cena to join The Nexus helps Wade Barrett return to the Power Poll.  Again.  (My vote:  NR)

    9. John Morrison (NR)

How this guy didn’t get on the Power Poll last week is beyond me.  Utilizing his Parkour Training in his matches is starting to get the Shaman of Sexy noticed on Monday nights.  (My vote:  6)

    10. Sheamus (8)

The Fellabration is just about over for Sheamus as he’s dangerously close to dropping off of the list.  He’ll get his chance to redeem himself in two weeks as he challenges Randy Orton in a Hell In A Cell.

Dropped out: The Undertaker, Roderick Strong, Chris Jericho
