  1. RYTMAN’S RAW (REPLAY) REAL TIME RECAP

    Leave a Comment

    Hokay.  This is WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY late.  What I’m going to do here is recap a replay of last night’s RAW.  This is for two reasons, I need more practice in real-time recapping, and I owe BWF my RAW recap.

    So here we go!

    We open with a recap of Elimination Chamber from Sunday.  Alberto Del Rio beat the Big Show, Jack Swagger won the Chamber, and C.M. Punk lost.  We get a reminder that Cena’s road to Wrestlemania starts tonight.

    Live in the Cajun Dome!  Cena’s out to address the WWE universe, and we’re reminded that it’s Cena vs. Rock for the WWE title.  John reminds everyone that it’ll be John Cena vs. The Rock, and that’s when Punk comes out.

    Punk accuses Cena of taking the easy way out.  Punk says Rock beat him fair and square on Sunday, if you disregard the fact that Rock hit an official, and Punk had him pinned for “an 18 count.” Cena tells him to “sit this one out,” and “for once, it’s not about C.M. Punk.” Punk disagrees, reminding Cena how he brought prestige to the WWE title, and how Cena can’t beat the Rock, and how he’s never beat Punk.  Punk tells him to walk away.  Cena makes it clear he will not.  Cena concedes that he hasn’t beat the Rock, and if he can’t beat Punk, then he doesn’t deserve the title shot.  Cena agrees to give Punk the shot at Wrestlemania if Punk can beat him in a match, right here, right now.  Punk decides to do this on his terms, and since he shouldn’t even be in this position, he decides to do this next week.  Cena makes it official.  Punk vs. Cena, Wrestlemania headline title shot on the line, next Monday.

    We get an announcement that tonight will be the Rock’s championship celebration, and The World’s Strongest Man, Mark Henry, is up next.0

    We’re back.  We get a picture of Thomas Jefferson and one of his quotes as part of a “president’s day” tribute.

    “ONE MAN WITH COURAGE IS A MAJORITY.” – Thomas Jefferson

    Backstage with Sheamus and Matt Striker.  Sheamus doesn’t know what went wrong last night, they were supposed to get revenge on the Shield, but didn’t.  Ryback walks into frame and Sheamus call him a neanderthall.  Ryback and Sheamus get up into each others’ face, when Chris Jericho steps in.  He gets them to stop fighting and offers them a chance to team up with him in a six-man against the Shield.  Sheamus and Ryback agree.

    “FEED ME SHIELD” – Ryback

    SIN CARA VS MARK HENRY

    This was an out-and-out squash.  Sin Cara got in one kick to the head, but it ends with a powerslam and a “world’s strongest slam.”

    WINNER: MARK HENRY

    Henry bullies the ref out of the ring and turns his attention to the fallen Sin Cara.  Great Khali strides out (slowly) and after a stare-down, teasing a fight, Henry bails.

    “IF I WANNA DANCE, I GIVE EM’ THAT.  YOU DANCE, THAT’S ALL YOU GOOD FOR ANYWAY.” – Mark Henry

    We go to a recap of the U.S. title match at Elimination Chamber, between the Miz and Champion Antonio Cesaro.  We see Miz drop knee first into Cesaro’s groin, and get dq’d.

    Vicki Guerro announces the six-man main event for tonight – Jericho, Sheamus, and Ryback vs The Shield via Twitter.

    When we come back, Miz vs. Cesaro, NO DQ!

    We’re back with a promo for FANDANGO, comming soon.

    Miz is in the ring w’a taped-up shoulder and arm.  We get a recap of last Monday’s RAW when Cesaro swung him into the guardrail.

    NO DQ MATCH-U.S. CHAMPION ANTONIO CESARO VS THE MIZ

    Miz starts strong, but the match goes out to the floor and Cesaro sends the bad arm into the post.  Cesaro throws Miz back in the ring with some chairs and a kendo stick.  Cesaro wedges a chair between two turnbuckles in the corner, and tries to drive the Miz shoulder-first into it.  Miz counters a few times and Cesaro has more luck with the Kendo stick.  Cesar pins the bad shoulder of Miz between his knee and a chair, and works the arm.  Cesaro sets Miz up in the corner for a charge, but Miz gets a shot to the face.  Cesaro charges knee first and Miz ducks.  Cesaro hits the chair in the corner.  Miz drop-toe-holds him chest first into the other chair, and ends this with a figure four for the submission.

    WINNER: THE MIZ

    Later tonight, Jack Swagger and Zeb Coulter will make a “State of the Union” address to the WWE universe.  Right now, we’re getting a look at an Internet video made by Zeb and Swagger. (youtube.com/wethepeoplezeb) It looks like a public access channel video with a “Don’t Tread On Me” flag tacked up in the back.  Zeb delivers a rant against immigrants with Swagger looming menacingly in the background.

    We’re reminded that Cena vs. Punk is next week and the Rock’s championship celebration is tonight.

    We come back to a pic and a quote of Abraham Lincoln.

    “YOU CAN FOOL SOME OF THE PEOPLE ALL OF THE TIME, YOU CAN FOOL ALL OF THE PEOPLE SOME OF THE TIME, YOU CAN’T FOOL ALL OF THE PEOPLE ALL OF THE TIME.” – Abraham Lincoln.

    Backstage, WWE  tag team champions Daniel Bryan and Kane are arguing over what happened between them in the Elimination chamber last Sunday.  Brian has requested a singles match and doesn’t want Kane coming out with him.  Kane decides he’ll request a singles match and doesn’t want Bryan coming out with him.  Kane warns Bryan that he’d better be a man of his word, because he doesn’t like snakes.  Randy Orton overhears this, and takes exception to it.  Kane explains that if a snake gets too close to him, he squashes it with his boot.  Orton compares Kane to Barney the Dinosaur and Bryan laughs.  Orton disappears, and Kane sulks off.

    We go to Vicki’s office where Paul Heyman has been summoned.  Vicki rags on Heyman about how useless his special stipulations were in the WWE title match.  Later on, she will make a big announcement concerning his career, in the ring.

    Team Ziggler (Dolp, Big E. and AJ) makes their way out as we go to break.

    WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION ALBERTO DEL RIO VS DOLPH ZIGGLER

    Ziggler’s in the ring as we recap Del Rio’s win over the Big Show at EC.  Ricardo Rodriguez comes out to introduce Del Rio.  The crowd is not into it.  Ziggler goes right after Del Rio.  Del Rio fights back.  Ziggler goes up and over the ropes, lands on the apron.  Del Rio hits the enziguri as we go to break…

    Ziggler in control as we come back, choking Del Rio against the ropes.  Ziggler with a dropkick.  Choking again, and Big E. sneaks in a cheap shot at ringside.  Ziggler gets a two-count with a fame-asser and goes up top.  ADR cuts him off and hits a REVERSE FACE-LOCK SUPERPLEX.  Ziggler up first. They trade punches, ADR hits two clothes-line, a tilt-a-whirl back-breaker, and a thrust kick for two.  ADR gets a “Si” chant going but Ziggler hits the neck-breaker for two.  Ziggler whips ADR into the corner, ADR gets the boots up, ties up Ziggler, and hits several forearms to the back and a back-stabber for two.  Big E up on the apron.  Del Rio knocks him off.  Ziggler goes for the flying DDT, but Del Rio hits the arm-breaker for the submission.

    WINNER: ALBERTO DEL RIO

    After the match, Big E. blindsides ADR and beas him down.  Ziggler realizes this is the best time to cash in the MiTB briefcase, but Ricardo swipes it and runs off with Big E. after him.  AJ recovers the case, but Ziggler eats a huge kick from ADR.

    Later tonight, the Rock’s celebration, and Kane vs.Randy Orton

    And we got to break…

    We are back with Intercontinental champion Wade Barrett in the ring, telling all of us about his big break in a major motion picture.  We then get shown the trailer for “Dead Man Down,” in theaters on March 8th.  We come back to Wade but Sheamus interrupts from the Titan-Tron to point out that Wade isn’t the star, Colin Farrell is.  He invites Barrett to respond, but is told we’re out of time.

    SIX PERSON TAG TEAM MATCH – TENSAI/BRODUS CLAY/AND NAOMI VS PRIMO/EPICO/AND ROSA

    The Funkadayctals make their entrance w/Brodus and Tensai.  Rosa and team MO-CO cut the music short with their entrance.  Naomi starts off with Rosa, taking charge with high-flying moves.  Rosa tags in Primo who goes after Naomi but Tensai makes the save and send Primo out.  Naomi hits a sliding dropkick between Tensai’s legs on Epico and Rosa.  Tensai and Brodus ends this with double headbuts and a double splash.

    WINNERS: BRODUS CLAY AND TENSAI

    We get a dance party in the ring before going to a WWE.com press conference in the Super-dome, where we get an announcement about Wrestlemania 30 being there next year, April 2014.

    Up next is the “State Of The Union” address from Jack Swagger and Zeb Coulter.

    We come back with a quote from Harry S. Truman

    “THE BUCK STOPS HERE.” – Harry S. Truman

    Jack Swagger and Zeb Coulter are in the ring with a podium and a “don’t tread on me” flag set up.  Swagger claims that he took the weight of the nation on his shoulders when he won the EC match and became #1 contender to the WHC.  He turns the mike over to Zeb, who claims the state of our union is “pathetic.” In summation, he basically accuses foreigners of coming here to take our health care, jobs, and resources, and how when Jack Swagger beats ADR, he will restore our nation to greatness.

    Daniel Bryan makes his entrance as we go to break.

    JACK SWAGGER VS. DANIEL BRYAN

    Match is basically Bryan slipping out of Swagger’s grasp with his speed/agility until Swagger gets a chance to pound on the bad ribs of Bryan.  Bryan fights back with quick strikes and high-risk high-flying.  Bryan misses a charging drop-kick and Swagger works his leg.  Swagger ends this with the “Patriot Act,” submission.

    WINNER: JACK SWAGGER

    Later tonight, Jericho, Sheamus, and Ryback vs. The Shield, and Vicki’s big announcement about Heyman.

    We come back to a Wrestlemania promo and Vicki in the ring demanding our attention, preparing to make an announcement that could change Heyman’s career/life.  She announces Brad Maddox as “assistant to the managing supevisor.” Brad says this was his reward for blowing the whistle on Heyman.

    “IS THIS MY CUE TO VOMIT?” – Paul Heyman

    Heyman says goodnight and gets ready to leave, when Vince makes his appearance on the Tron, stopping him.  He reminds Heyman of last week when Heyman requested the DQ/count-out stip for the WWE title match at EC, and how Heyman said he do “anything” for it.  Basically Vince challenges Heyman to a fight in two weeks when he makes his return.

    And Break…

    CHRIS JERICHO, SHEAMUS & RYBACK VS. THE SHIELD

    Jericho, Sheamus, & Ryback each make a separate entrance, the Shield come down all at once through the crowd.  The faces start off strong, with each man getting a shot at a Shield member.  The faces dominate as we go to break…

    We come back to the Shield beating down Sheamus.  Sheamus fights his way free and brings in Ryback.  Ryback hits hard and fast, tossing around the Shield, but he takes a spear when the ref isn’t looking.  The Shield pile on Ryback with double teaming until one of them misses a charge.  Ryback brings in Jericho, who takes over on the Shield.  Jericho locks in the “Walls Of Jericho” while Sheamus takes a Shield member to the outside, brawling.  Ryback is down, and the Shield leader takes out Jericho with a flying knee behind the ref’s back.  Jericho gets pinned for three.

    WINNERS: THE SHIELD

    And break…

    We come back with a quote from JFK.

    “ASK NOT WHAT YOUR COUNTRY CAN DO FOR YOU, ASK WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR YOUR COUNTRY.” – John F. Kennedy

    DAMIEN SANDOW VS KOFI KINGSTON

    Sandow comes out, berating the audience and claims his great-grandfather came up with the new deal.  He attacks Kofi before the bell rings and brutalizes him, until R-Truth makes his comeback and the save.  Sandow is left lying.

    NO CONTEST

    We go to Josh Mathews at ringside w/two of his co-stars from “G.I. JOE: RETALIATION,” and a clip from the movie.

    The Rock’s celebration, up next…

    We’re back with another promo for Fandango, and Randy Orton making his entrance.

    RANDY ORTON VS KANE

    We get a plug for the EXTREME RULES PPV as Kane makes his way to the ring.  Match is back and forth until Daniel Bryan comes out to distract Kane.  Kane loses focus and walks into an RKO for the three-count.

    WINNER: RANDY ORTON

    And break…

    We come back to a local marching band making their way down to the ring.  After they finish playing, the Rock makes his big entrance.  First, he runs down Punk, pointing out how he beat Punk in two straight PPV’s so he could be here tonight as WWE champion.  Rock says in 48 days he’s going to Wrestlemania, but not with the “spinny” belt.

    “THE WWE TITLE SHOULD NEVER LOOK LIKE A TOY, AND IT SHOULD NEVER, EVER, SPIN” – The Rock

    The Rock retires the WWE “spinner” belt, and talks about how the belt should “inspire” the people watching and respect the legacy of champions past.  He then unveils the “New” WWE championship.  It looks like a big ring, with the WWE logo taking up most of the face-plate over the word “champion,” and the Rock’s Brahma-Bull logo on each side.  Rock asks the question “Who will the Rock face at Wrestlemania? John Cena, or C.M. Punk?” Rock is about to name his preference, when Cena’s music hits and he comes out.  He’s facing down the Rock when Punk nails him from behind with the spinny belt.  He tosses it aside, and says “I want that one,” while pointing at Rock.  The show ends with Punk staring down the Rock and walking out, while the Rock paces around the ring in confuion and Cena tries to pull himself up.

    1 Comment

    Yes folks, the Power Poll has returned to BoredWrestlingFan.com for the sheer fact that I actually bother checking my BWF e-mail accounts on a regular basis.  Who took the top spot?  Who’s off the list?  I DON’T KNOW!  Let’s find out together, shall we?

  3. Smackdown 12/23/11

    2 Comments

    Tonight is the go-home show before the holiday weekend, and probably will be left in a holding pattern. Much to my chagrin, I work late on Friday, so I was not able to catch the ROH PPV tonight. Hopefully after the craziness of the holidays dies down next week, I’ll find a way to watch it. Until then, it’s time for Smackdown. Let’s hop to it, shall we?

  4. “Smackdown,” 5/13/11

    1 Comment

    On behalf of His Mighty Mighty Flynn-ness, your friendly neighborhood Drowgoddess presents this “Friday the 13th” review of “Smackdown!” In the role of King Philip of France, we have Randy Orton. Representing the Knights Templar, we have (no pun intended) Christian. What will the conspiracy theorists have to say by the end of this? Let’s investigate! (more…)

  6. WWE Tribute To The Troops 2009 Results

    Leave a Comment

    Here’s something interesting I just noticed – in the opening bumper, it no longer has “Hulkamania is runnin’ wild” as one of the featured audio clips – instead, it’s “Everybody’s got a price!”

    Let’s roll!  Tonight we’ve got John Cena “defending his title” against Chris Jericho, but first…

    BOOYAKAH, BOOYAKAH!  Whatever that means.

    Rey Mysterio makes his way out to the ring as that terrible announcer who got canned from ECW, Lauren Mayhew, does the ring introductions.  Mysterio is in tag team action, and his partner tonight is The World’s Strongest Man, Mark Henry.  They’re opponents tonight are Carlito and CM Punk.

    Rey Mysterio & Mark Henry def. Carlito & CM Punk

    I love the matches on these Tribute to the Troops shows.  It’s really awesome what the WWE does for the troops, and the guys on the card always give their best.  Mysterio nails a double 619 on Carlito and Punk, followed by a West Coast Pop on Punk and a World’s Strongest Slam on Carlito, as the faces pick up the win in the opening contest.

    Photo Slideshow: Images from the WWE’s latest trip to Iraq set to a Bob Dylan song.

    <COMMERCIAL BREAK>

    Eve introduces Santa Claus.  Santa is played this year by R-Truth, who doesn’t even bother to change the lyrics to “What’s Up” to anything Christmas or Troops related.  He complains that he’s gaining weight because everybody leaves him goodies when he comes to deliver the presents.  He’s got a sweet tooth, and he’s going to bring out honey right now – in the form of his helpers, the WWE Divas.  The Divas come down to the ring and pass out swag from WWEShop.com.

    Video Message: President Obama wishes the troops well.

    <COMMERCIAL BREAK>

    Still to come, John Cena defends a belt that isn’t even his anymore against Chris Jericho

    Video Package: The interaction between the Superstars and Troops.  In a touching moment, Rey Mysterio gives one of the troops the mask he wore the first time he came over to Iraq with Eddie Guerrero as his partner.

    <COMMERCIAL BREAK>

    Video: The Commander of the US Central Command thanks the WWE for supporting the troops.

    The WWE United States Champion, The Miz, makes his way to the ring.  We’ve got a rematch from Bragging Rights, as his opponent is the (former) Intercontinental Champion, John Morrison, who even gets a slow-mo entrance in Iraq.

    The Miz def. John Morrison

    Michael Cole takes a moment that despite John Morrison having the championship at the time of this match, he’d lost it this past Sunday to Drew McIntyre.  The Miz picks up the victory with his feet up on the ropes.

    Video Package: John Cena’s Tribute To The Troops history.

    Up next, Cena defends the WWE Championship against Chris Jericho!

    <COMMERCIAL BREAK>

    Chris Jericho is out first for his match.  At least they’re going the traditional route and letting the Champion come out last for the Troops show.  His opponent was the WWE Champion at the time of the taping, and say what you will about John Cena, you have to respect him for his dedication to performing for the Troops.

    John Cena def. Chris Jericho

    In another great match, Cena picks up the victory with the Attitude Adjustment.

    Video Package: The Superstars in Iraq

    My Thoughts: This is the best WWE show of the year.  It’s bigger than WrestleMania, and the WWE considers these trips to be more important than WrestleMania.  Another great show, but I know I’m not the only one who feels like an hour isn’t long enough.  I’d gladly give up RAW or SmackDown for a week to see a two hour Tribute to the Troops broadcast.  Thank you, WWE, for what you do for the Troops, and thanks to the Troops for what they do for us.

    I’ll be back tomorrow with the Final Resolution Roundtable.  JT should be here tomorrow with a new Random Randomness, and making his BWF debut, chjpacheco will be covering tomorrow night’s Final Resolution PPV!

  7. RAW results, 9/28/09

    Leave a Comment

    RAW is in the capital city of mine and JT’s home state, Albany, NY.

    We’re kicking things off with the VIP Lounge with your host MVP, and his tag team partner, The World’s Strongest Man, Mark Henry. That means, big things poppin’, little things stoppin’. Whatever that means. MVP gets ready to introduce tonight’s guest host…

    WELLL… BREAK THE WALLS DOWN!

    The World Tag Team Champions are here, and the VIP Lounge security doesn’t stop them. Jericho says shame on MVP for giving an introduction like that to a man like Reverent Al Sharpton. He shouldn’t call him a guest host. He should call him the greatest civil rights leader of all time. MVP and Jericho go back and forth over Sharpton’s accolades. MVP goes for the introduction again, but Jericho steals his thunder.

    Reverend Al Sharpton comes to the VIP Lounge to “Living In America.” He says it’s the most elaborate introduction he’s ever gotten in his life – and the fans boo. He says it’s a tough crowd, and that tomorrow in Philadelphia, he’ll be embarking on a tour to promote education reform. MVP says we need reform on RAW in the form of the Unified Tag Team Champions. He suggests that Mark Henry and himself should face Beauty And The Beast, JeriShow, here tonight. Sharpton asks Jericho what he thinks. Jericho says he’s surrounded by hypocrites and parasites, liars and people with no morals. Jericho says they can’t have another match tonight because they’re already competing against John Cena in a gauntlet match, and they’ve already beaten MVP and Mark Henry. Jericho says the people don’t deserve to be educated, because they’re too far gone already. They shouldn’t have the right to vote and their opinions do not matter. Sharpton says everybody deserves and opportunity. He asks the fans if they want to see a championship match tonight. The fans cheer, and Sharpton says that we’re going to have a championship match, next! Jericho says it’s discrimination.

    <COMMERCIAL BREAK>

    Chris Jericho & The Big Show def. MVP & Mark Henry

    This must be some new record for RAW – we’ve got a match just 13 minutes into the show!  I can’t honestly remember when the last time that happened was, though I’m sure there was probably one recently that I’m forgetting.  In the end, despite the momentum built up by MVP, Jericho managed to hit the CodeBreaker for the victory!

    <COMMERCIAL BREAK>

    Primo says that Reverend Sharpton is an inspiration to all minorities.  Hornswoggle runs in, being chased by Chavo, who calms things down and introduces himself and his partner, Chris Masters.  Santino comes in and calls Chavo and Masters the Geico Cavemen.  He then confuses Sharpton with Don King and Issac Hayes.  Sharpton tells Primo he’s not sure what he’s gotten himself into.  Primo says it gets a little loco around here, and welcomes him to Monday Night RAW.

    Josh Matthews is standing by with Randy Orton.  Orton says that Cena doesn’t stand a chance to survive tonight, let alone compete.  Then he goes on the usual spiel about having been in a Hell In A Cell match before and he says he’ll win the WWE Championship.

    Alicia Fox and Rosa Mendez are walking backstage.  I was hoping they were walking towards the exit, but The King says we’ve got Diva action, NEXT!

    <COMMERCIAL BREAK>

    Ugh.  I don’t even feel like covering the entrances for this match, let alone the match.  Let’s just get this over with.

    Mickie James def. Rosa Mendez

    The Carolina Panthers scored a touchdown and are up 7-0 over the Cowboys during this match.  Mickie won.  That’s all I know.

    <COMMERCIAL BREAK>

    We get a glimpse of a Hell In A Cell hanging above the ring for no apparent reason.  Hey look, Legacy are here!

    DiBiase says that they get it.  Nobody expects them to win on Sunday.  Nobody expects them to beat DX in the Cell.  But you should, because of what they’ve done to them over the past few weeks.  For those with short attention spans, Legacy have put together a video for you.  I got a phone call and missed a bunch of what Legacy said, but HBK said they were boring.  DX is up in the stands and making fun of them.  Legacy get mad and DX make fun of them some more.  Cody interrupts, and HBK interrupts Cody to tell him that Triple H wasn’t finished.  Essentially it comes down to, “why wait ’til Sunday?”  DX head down the stairs and to the ring.  Legacy bail, and Triple H says there’s no hiding on Sunday and that for Legacy, it’s going to be pure Hell.

    <COMMERCIAL BREAK>

    The All American American Jack Swagger has a flag on his belt.  That’s because it’s the United States Championship he stole from The Miz, who stole it from Kofi Kingston last week.  The three of them will be in a triple threat match at Hell In A Cell for the title.  Swagger’s jobber to the stars opponent tonight is Evan Bourne.

    Jack Swagger vs. Evan Bourne

    Bourne looks like a dwarf next to Swagger.  Swagger picks up the win in a short match.

    After the match, Swagger says he’s going to be the next US Champion.  The Miz thinks otherwise.  He says he’s been the most impressive draft pick for RAW this year, and that he’ll be the next US Champion.  Swagger and The Miz start brawling, and Kofi Kingston shows up and steals his belt back.

    <COMMERCIAL BREAK>

    Santino Marella and Hornswoggle make their way out to the ring, followed by Chavo Guerrero and Chris Masters, and we’re underway.

    Santino & Hornswoggle def. Chavo Guerrero & Chris Masters

    Masters gets the blind tag and locks Santino in the Master Lock, passing out and losing for his team without Hornswoggle ever even getting in the ring.

    After the match, Masters grabs Hornswoggle, and hooks him in the Master Lock, much to the surprise of Chavo, who decks Masters and takes off.  Masters gives Chavo a “WTF” look as he leaves.

    Lynyrd Skynyrd’s new album comes out tomorrow

    Big Show, Chris Jericho, and Randy Orton are discussing strategy in the back.

    <COMMERCIAL BREAK>

    Ben Roethlisberger is the guest host of RAW next Monday, and is bringing the entire Steelers offensive line with him, apparently.  The King and Cole run down the card.

    On that note, I’m going to turn things over to this week’s guest hostess for BWF’s RAW review, the Empress of iMPACT, Drowgoddess!

    Alicia Fox and Rosa Mendez are walking backstage.  I was hoping they were walking towards the exit, but The King says we’ve got Diva action, NEXT!

    Hey, all!

    Reverend Al Sharpton is backstage. He still receives tremendous boos. He thanks everyone for the fun time that he has had. Jillian comes running up and interrupts him. She, fortunately, is not allowed to hang around and sing for extended lengths of time. Reverend Al dances with the Bella twins instead. We see John Cena backstage before we go to a commercial break.

    When we return, John Cena enters first for the three-on-one gauntlet match. Whether Cena wins or loses, he must fight all three opponents, one at a time. Chris Jericho is up first.

    John Cena vs. Chris Jericho: Cena tries to pin Jericho quickly, but Jericho squirms out repeatedly. Massive “Cena!” chants. Jericho lays into Cena with kicks to the midsection. Jericho attempts to wear down Cena with holds. Cena goes for the Attitude Adjustment, but Jericho rolls through and counters, continuing to punch Cena. In the face. Jericho is in control. Cena flattens Jericho with a shoulder tackle off the ropes. Cena takes Jericho down, and we can’t see him! Cena hits the Five Knuckle Shuffle, but Jericho fights out of the Attitude Adjustment. Walls of Jericho on Cena! Cena makes it to the bottom rope. Jericho refuses to release the hold. The referee counts to five. Jericho refuses to release the hold. Jericho is disqualified for refusing to break the hold, and Cena gets the win. Jericho only releases the hold when the Big Show reaches ringside.

    Winner by DQ: John Cena

    John Cena vs. the Big Show: Jericho remains at ringside to comment and encourage Show. Show pounds on Cena as we go to commercial break. When we return, Show drives Cena into the corner, and targets Cena’s lower back. Jericho shouts at Show and bangs his hand on the mat. Show catches Cena in a bear hug. Show drops Cena with a kick to the gut. Show goes for a chokeslam, but Cena counters with a DDT (By DDT, I mean a gently rolling summersault). Cena picks up Show for an Attitude Adjustment, but Jericho rushes the ring and knocks Cena down. Jericho and Show beat Cena down. Show is disqualified due to Jericho’s interference, and Cena gets a second victory.

    Winner by DQ: John Cena

    John Cena vs. Randy Orton: Orton enters slowly, staring unblinkingly at Cena. Cena gestures, “come get some.” No, King, Delirious doesn’t work for WWE. Cena is not Delirious. Sorry, I had to go there. 🙂 Orton slowly circles Cena, every inch the predator. They stand almost nose-to-nose. Cena raises one finger, and the Hell in a Cell cage lowers over them. Orton tries to escape, but Cena grabs him around the waist, and drags him back in as the cage lowers. Randy Orton has been outsmarted! The massive “Cena!” chants continue. Cena looks at the opened cage door. He looks at Orton. Orton must get past Cena to get out the door. They fight outside the cage door. Cena gets Orton up for an Attitude Adjustment, but Orton leaps up on the cage wall and climbs like Spiderman to the top. Cena follows. Cena and Orton square off on top of the Hell in a Cell cage. Which has lighting equipment sitting on it. For some reason. Cena hits Orton with an Attitude Adjustment on the roof of the cage. Cena stands tall over Orton, then drops down and talks trash. Cena appears to have won this match, though precisely how, is unclear.

    Winner: John Cena

    That’s it for RAW, everybody! Join us here at BWF for a staff round table for the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view, along with all the usual wrestling goodness!

    Peace out,

    Drowgoddess (for ThinkSoJoE)

    Break out the Harry Slash and the Slashtones, because this ECW on SciFi review…  is…  EXTREME!

    Ok, maybe not, but it is in real-time, so don’t forget to refresh the page every so often if you’re visiting between 10PM and 11PM Eastern on June 23, 2009!

    ECW theme plays: Look, new ECW.  I just brought up the original ECW, how can I not question your heart?

    Five nights away from The Bash, where Mark Henry, Jack Swagger, Christian, Finlay, and ECW Champion Tommy Dreamer will attempt to walk out as champion in a Scramble match!

    But tonight, Evan Bourne is here with taped up ribs due to injuries suffered at the hands of The World’s Strongest Man, Mark Henry.  Bourne’s opponent is The Hart Dynasty’s Tyson Kidd.

    Evan Bourne def. Tyson Kidd

    Matt Striker assumes that if he presses Triangle and L1, Kidd or Bourne will do something exciting, since they’re almost like video game characters with their high flying offense.  David Hart Smith and Natalya hopped up on the apron at the same time, earning themselves an ejection from the referee.  Bourne knocks Kidd out of the ring and hits a high-flying maneuver to the outside, earning himself a classic “ECW” chant!  Back in the ring, however, Kidd goes after the injured ribs of Bourne.  Kidd stretches Bourne as only a Hart Dungeon graduate can do, but Bourne reverses a back suplex attempt into a pin attempt for one.  Kidd doesn’t let this minor setback impede his progress, he goes right back after Bourne’s ribs, driving his knee into them and then draping Bourne across the top rope.  Bourne starts to battle back amid “Let’s Go Evan” chants.  Bourne uses a unique rollup to score a two count and starts to build momentum.  Bourne hits a hurricanrana and a Tito Santana-esque flying forearm before taking Kidd down with a high knee.  He climbs the ropes and launches a picture perfect Shooting Star Press for the victory!  Excellent match to kick off ECW!

    A lot of people are saying Finlay took cheap shots on Tommy Dreamer and Christian last week – but they don’t mention the shot on Jack Swagger.  The show a video of the cheap shots in question – including the cheap shot on Swagger that I mentioned.

    Speaking of Finlay, he’s on his way to the ring.

    <COMMERCIAL BREAK>

    For some ungodly reason, Finlay still has Hornswoggle’s music.  I know this because he’s on his way to the ring as I type this.  And apparently, he’s got something to say.  People want to know what his problem is and why he did what he did to Christian and Dreamer.  He tried to break up a fight between the two of them a few weeks back, and nobody called him to apologize – they texted him.  What he did last week wasn’t a cheap shot, it was an eye for an eye, and this Sunday at The Bash…

    Oh radio, tell me everything you know…

    Zack Ryder tells Finlay to listen up, because Finlay’s overlooking the fact that he’s got a match with the man of ECW, Zack Ryder.  Woo Woo Woo, you know it.  Whatever that means.

    <COMMERCIAL BREAK>

    Finlay def. Zack Ryder

    The match is underway when we come back, and Finlay is in control.  As Matt Striker says, Finlay is looking to make Ryder’s Woo Woo Woo turn backwards into Ow Ow Ow.  Finlay attempts to wear down Ryder with submission holds and fierce strikes.  Ryder starts to battle back after he and Finlay inadvertantly cracked heads, which seemed to hurt Finlay’s injured eye.  Ryder starts to work over the Irishman with submission holds of his own.  Mr. Woo Woo Woo goes after the injured eye, wearing Finlay down.  Finlay starts to fight back with a barrage of strikes.  He hits the Finlay Roll but only gets a two count.  Ryder goes after the eye again, and exposes the steel turnbuckle as the referee checks on Finlay, but Finlay manages to catch Ryder with a surprise roll up for the victory!

    <COMMERCIAL BREAK>

    RAW REBOUND: Randy Orton and Triple H both failed to answer the referee’s ten count, thus allowing Randy Orton to retain the WWE Championship.  Donald Trump sold RAW back to Mr. McMahon for twice what he paid for it.  Mr. McMahon then told Randy Orton he’s going to wrestle in Three Stages of Hell at The Bash, defending his title once again against Triple H, who assaulted him in the parking lot after the show.

    Josh Matthews and Matt Striker run down the card for The Bash.

    Striker gets in the ring and has a blackboard illustrating the ECW Championship Scramble match with him.  Your teacher teaches us the rules of the match.  He then welcomes Gregory Helms, who is standing by backstage with Mark Henry.  Henry starts to talk about tonight’s main event, when a large box falls on a production assistant.  When Henry turns back around, Helms is gone, and The Hurricane is saving the production assistant!  When Henry turns back around again, Helms is there and asks him again how he feels about his match tonight.

    <COMMERCIAL BREAK>

    Jack Swagger is the first man out for tonight’s main event, followed by his tag team partner for the evening, Mark Henry.  The ECW Champion Tommy Dreamer makes his way out first for his team.  Christian makes his way out and we’re set for our main event of the evening.

    Tommy Dreamer & Christian vs. Mark Henry & Jack Swagger

    Christian and Swagger start off with Christian taking early control.  He tags in Dreamer who doesn’t fare as well, until Swagger tags in Mark Henry.  Dreamer knocks Henry out of the ring and dumps an incoming Swagger out as well.  Dreamer hits the rolling senton from the apron on Henry and Christian hits a cross body from the top onto Swagger, and the “ECW” chants start up again as we head to a…

    <COMMERCIAL BREAK>

    Swagger is pounding away on Christian as we come back, but Christian starts to battle back.  Dreamer gets the tag in, and starts dominating.  Christian inadvertently causes distracts the referee, however, allowing Mark Henry to sneak in and attack Dreamer from behind, which gives Swagger the opportunity to take over and tag in the World’s Strongest Man.  Swagger and Henry make the ghost of Gorilla Monsoon proud by cutting the ring in half and using frequent tags to keep a fresh man in the ring, but Swagger finds himself caught with a Dreamer spinebuster.  Swagger gets to Henry first, but Dreamer gets to Christian soon after.  Captain Charisma takes Henry down with a missile dropkick from the top rope and gets a two count.  Christian goes for a sunset flip on Henry, but Swagger tags himself in.  Henry goes to sit on Christian, who moves, but Swagger, the legal man, goes for a Gutwrench Powerbomb, which Christian escapes before hitting the Killswitch.  Swagger was close enough to the ropes for Tony Atlas to pull his foot under the rope.  Henry squashes Christian on the outside, allowing Swagger to hit the Gutwrench on a second attempt to pick up the win.

    After the match, Henry drops Dreamer with a World’s Strongest Slam, and then gives one to Jack Swagger for good measure.

    My Thoughts: THE HURRICANE IS BACK!  This show is usually awesome enough, but to actually see The Hurricane on my television made it that much better for me.

    ECW is consistently one of the best shows every week.  There’s a reason for that – the talent.  Twice tonight, ECW chants broke out in the crowd.  It may not be the original, as I alluded to earlier in this post, but it’s still an extremely (no pun intended) enjoyable professional wrestling program.
