  1. WrestleMania VI: The Ultimate Challenge

This is it!  BoredWrestlingFan’s WrestleMania week is in full swing, which kicked off with the WrestleMania 29 prediction podcast.  My contribution to WrestleMania week this year will be reviews of the first six WrestleMania events, which started Monday with 1985′s WrestleMania, and ends today with a review of WrestleMania VI.  And don’t forget to tune in to BoredWrestlingFan Radio this Sunday at 2PM Eastern as I will be reporting LIVE from Met Life Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ, the site of WrestleMania XXIX!

I don’t remember a damned thing about this show, other than the Hogan/Warrior main event.  Considering how much I remembered about WrestleMania V, and that I thought the show sucked when I reviewed it yesterday, my expectations are low going in.  Well, let’s roll.

  2. Wrestlemania 29 according to WWE’13

Well here’s my contribution to Wrestlemania week  and like last year is a look at what Wrestlemania through the eyes of WWE’13 well the Wii version anyway.  Hey it’s better than Smackdown vs. RAW 2010 which is what I used last year. Just to let everyone know that the Wii version of this game has no DLC so I’ll only be doing the matches I can with what I’ve got.  I will also be doing this on simulate mode so I will have no effect on the outcomes of the matches. So without further ado, lets go: (more…)

WrestleMania V, the Mega Powers Explode!  I’d just started to really get in to pro wrestling around this time.  In fact, the Saturday Night’s Main Event where Hogan and Savage split up over the tag team match they had against the Twin Towers may be one of the first wrestling shows I really remember watching.  We didn’t order this one on PPV, but I rented it on VHS as soon as it came out.  I distinctly remember a lot of this show, which is surprising, since I can barely remember any of last year’s WrestleMania.  Oh well, let’s roll!

Today, we’ll be taking a look at WrestleMania IV.  This one went nearly four hours and featured a tournament to determine the new WWF Champion after it was declared vacant by WWF President Jack Tunney.  Andre The Giant won the title in controversial fashion on an episode of The Main Event, and immediately sold it to “The Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase, who was immediately stripped of the title.  I don’t remember much at all about this particular show, other than it was so big they had to put it on two VHS tapes.  Now you can store the entire thing and watch it on devices smaller than VHS tapes.  Such as what I’m doing.  Tablet at one side, computer on the other.  Let’s roll!

Today’s event, WrestleMania III.  I was still a couple years away from being a full fledged member of what we now call the WWE Universe, but I knew wrestling was out there.  I didn’t see this when it aired, but I rented it from the video store a couple of years later.  I’m actually pumped to be reviewing this one, mostly because of the Savage/Steamboat classic.  Of course, there are other memorable moments – Hogan slamming the 6,000 lb dude brother dude Andre across the world, Adrian Adonis having his hair cut – but that’s the one that seems to be the most talked about.  Let’s roll!

  6. Review: WrestleMania 2

This is it!  BoredWrestlingFan’s WrestleMania week is in full swing, which kicked off with the WrestleMania 29 prediction podcast.  My contribution to WrestleMania week this year will be reviews of the first six WrestleMania events, starting yesterday with 1985′s WrestleMania, and finishing up Saturday with a review of WrestleMania VI.  And don’t forget to tune in to BoredWrestlingFan Radio this Sunday at 2PM Eastern as I will be reporting LIVE from Met Life Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ, the site of WrestleMania XXIX!

Wow.  WrestleMania 2.  I often say that the first thing I ever remember seeing in professional wrestling was a promo that Hulk Hogan cut prior to this show, talking about how he’s going to get that big dude (King Kong Bundy) in a cage at WrestleMania.  I don’t remember anything else between that time and WrestleMania V, but when I finally started following pro wrestling religiously, my uncle handed down some old WWF Magazines, one of which was a recap of this particular show.  I have seen the show before, but that was decades ago, and I was just a kid back then, so this will be another great experience for me on this year’s proverbial Road to WrestleMania.

Well, I have a better idea today than I did when I started yesterday about how I’m going to cover this show.  It’ll be mostly straightforward, unless I see a blatant opportunity for some wildly outlandish thing a la G’s SmackDown reviews.  Let’s go!

  7. The thrilling conclusion of BoredWrestlingFan Radio Ep. 68

A few days ago, the BoredWrestlingFan staff brought you their WrestleMania predictions podcast featuring Brian Muller of Lost Elysium and Gary Barnidge of the Cleveland Browns.  It was brought to my attention that the advertised time of the podcast did not match the length of the MP3 that accompanied it.  Upon further review, the ending was somehow cut off.  Rather than fix the MP3 that was already available, I have decided to add the complete discussion of the WWE Championship match between The Rock and John Cena, and the ending to the show, as a separate file.  Mostly so iTunes would pick it up.  So.  Enjoy.

  8. Review: WrestleMania I

This is it!  BoredWrestlingFan’s WrestleMania week is in full swing, kicking off with yesterday’s WrestleMania 29 prediction podcast.  My contribution to WrestleMania week this year will be reviews of the first six WrestleMania events, starting today with 1985’s WrestleMania, and finishing up Saturday with a review of WrestleMania VI.  And don’t forget to tune in to BoredWrestlingFan Radio this Sunday at 2PM Eastern as I will be reporting LIVE from Met Life Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ, the site of WrestleMania XXIX!

I would like to preface this review by stating that I have NEVER watched this first WrestleMania before.  I’ve seen every other WrestleMania, but this is the very first time I’m watching this one.  So, this should be an interesting experience, especially considering how much the business has changed over the last 28 years.  As G would say, it’s hopping time!

I will warn you – I haven’t decided whether or not to take this seriously, or if I would rather do the standard goofball stuff that you regularly see on G’s SmackDown reviews here on BWF.  We’ll figure it out as we go along.
