In this episode I disclose a frankly preposterous idea I have for the divas this year at Wrestlemania that would make the match better. It’s pretty bad that the Diva’s title isn’t on the line at the biggest show of them all. I have a solution.
This week on BWF Radio, the “Cock Talk” starts early, as Jorge and guest Alice Radley of the RWR podcast are at it before the theme music even hits. JT returns from vacation (as do JT Hogan and Triple JT, and they brought Vince McJT back with them), while Mark misses this week due to being on holiday. We discuss all the wrestling television, including Total Divas. We discuss the varying levels of disappointment in TNA bringing in Tito Ortiz. In the news, Kurt Angle heads to rehab while BJ Whitmer heads to the hospital. Randy Orton is punched in the nuts by a South African fan who just plain doesn’t like him. We hear a possible reason why Paige hasn’t been called up to the WWE main roster. Why was The Great Muta pictured with Jeff Jarrett earlier this week? And we all get our wallets out at the prospect of “The Phenom Edition” of WWE 2K14. All this and much, much more on BoredWrestlingFan Radio. Tune in!
Hopefully we can finally get RAW to keep the momentum going. Last week’s show was called by some people I know the best one of the year. I don’t know necessarily that I agree with that, but the crowd was hot and it definitely helped ease the anger of a lackluster Pay Per View the night before. Let’s roll!
I watch 30 minutes of RAW, leave for work, and then watch the rest while writing RAW in whatever style I feel like. Because this is the “A” show. SmackDown can have their little make believe stuff, they need it since they’re the “B” show. It’s all half assed matches and RAW recaps over there anyway. Screw you, SmackDown review!
The BWF Crew are once again joined by Alice Radley from Rational Wrestling Review, and promptly screw up the name of her site. We talk RAW, SmackDown, Impact, Main Event, Saturday Morning Slam, ECW on TNN, Wrestling Society X, and Shotgun Saturday Night. Give or take a few. Then we talk about all the great wrestling news. We wish Superstar Billy Graham the best as he deals with health issues. We question when Bully Ray obtained “muscular, tan arms,” find out what magazines Alice compares the Divas and Knockouts to, and much, much more. Also, how would Jorge comfort an emotional JT? Tune in and find out!
Hi I’m Matt B. Wrestle and with us today is Bobby L. (Last name withheld to protect identity from Vince’s lawyers). Bobby has a special gift for psychic predictions and has been featured on that show A&E Psychic Kids. Why is he here? Well we want to use him to predict the Rock vs Cena match and its implications at Wrestlemania 28. So lets ask the first Question.
Matt: After seeing the return of the Doctor of Thuganomics last week what do we have in store for Wrestlemania?
Bobby: I see a rough edge Cena who will be taking no garbage from anyone after Wrestlemania. I predict his feud with Kane has set Cena on his path.
Matt: So basically a return to the gray characters of the heralded Attitude Era?
Bobby: Yes and No. No because that era is dead and entertaining family oriented programs are still the driving ambition.
Matt:?.. We just saw Cena curse last week and references to pie and Cena’s lady parts.
Bobby: All just little touches that add to the overall feud that will dissipate once the feud concludes. A little tease to buy the PPV
Matt: So you predict that he will return harder edge but still family friendly even after the cursing and threatening to put his nuts in Rock’s face.
Bobbi: Yes.
I pause complexed by this theory. Or should I say prediction, he is psychic after all. I go through my notes searching for more clues to a harder edged program featuring more cursing and meta wrestling. I think I found it.
Matt: Eve Torres making out with Cena who is publicly acknowledged as married. Shouldn’t this be an issue?
Bobby: No I believe all will be forgotten by April 2nd. Dwayne will go back to acting full time and everything will return to normal. Or as normal as one goes with the creative team.
Matt: More fart divas and Bella Twin pushes?
Bobby: I don’t have to be a psychic to tell you the Divas suck. edit* No offense to the divas*
Matt: But with the emergence of the male roster like Ziggler, R-truth and even Santino Marella wouldn’t this clue in to a return to anything can happen television branching out from the Cena turn to Thuganomics at Wrestlemania?
Bobby: Are you okay?
Calming myself. I believe in the knowledge that this could be the final year of our existence. 2012. The Mayan calendar. Why wouldn’t the E just go balls to the wall and give us the gray character development that we came to love during the 90’s. I finally decide to take a breath and ask about the possibilty that this is in fact a reverse Hogan.
Bobby: A reverse Hogan?
Matt: Yeah Rock took on Hogan at Wrestlemania in the SkyDome, when Hulk was still NWO and after beating him turned him face. So is it possible that the plan could include a Cena heel turn after a win over the Rock?
Bobby pauses for a minute. Deep in thought. I was so expecting him to put his hand on his temples, Charles Xavier style but he just thinks on it. He appears to convulse suddenly and for a minute there I think I broke him with the impossible question. When hs eyes roll into the back of his head I’m almost ready to call the paramedics. But suddenly his hands go up to stop me.
Bobby: What you hope for seems to be certain. Only if WWe creative doesn’t hear about this interview first.
The dread takes over as I envision my own psychic revelation as Vince having one of his underlings coming across my article and deciding to change everything at the last minute. Invalidating this prediction and thus dooming us to another stale profitable Wrestlemania.
Matt: So we can’t tell anyone?
Bobby: Not it you want this to work out.
So I would have to release this article after Wrestlemania to preserve all hope that it comes true. I knew I was facing a dilemma. My reputation would be tarnished with fans. I couldn’t allow that but at the same time if the E changed it at the last minute I would still be suspect of fraud.
Matt: So I just can’t publish this article.
Bobby: Good move. Sometimes the best solution is to do nothing. Oh and that Randy Orton piece about his feud with Kane?
Matt: Yeah
Bobby: I wouldn’t even waste my time. That is just filler to give Orton something to do.
Matt: Are you sure?
Bobby: Dude. Who is the one with the A&E Show?
Matt: So I have no article to print on either front then.
I have to do something to publish a piece or I have nothing for Wrestlemania. I could d0 the Undertaker vs HHH. NO. Everyone and their mother has covered that Rocky sequel. Punk and Jericho. Hell no it would just be Cena vs Rock redux. Wait what about Sheamus vs Daniel Bryan. No. Wait if I scratch out HHH favorite Sheamus and do a piece on Daniel Bryan and his descent into main event villiany that would cover something new.
It wasn’t that long ago. Just a few weeks, actually. I jumped right on this very website right after WWE RAW SuperShow to rant about how they ruined a perfectly entertaining show with the introduction of John Laurinaitis as the interim RAW General Manager. Now, I’m right back here after what many are saying was a terrible episode of RAW, and finding myself in a less than familiar situation – one where I’m not a cynical asshole.
Personally, I went on Twitter immediately after I watched last night’s show and mentioned that I felt like last night’s show was solid from top to bottom, and after re-watching it today with my wife I’m standing by that tweet. The fact is, the internet wrestling community (IWC) doesn’t know what they want. The same people who tune in to TNA and time the matches so they can jump on the internet and point out that there was only 10 minutes of wrestling in a two hour program are the same ones that I see right now saying that this episode of RAW, where the talking was kept to a minimum, was terrible.
Every performer on last night’s show put on a solid performance. The IWC doesn’t seem to think so, and I’d like to think that it’s because they’re so jaded about everything that the WWE does nowadays. John Cena has proven time and time again – despite the fact that I boo the hell out of his character – that he’s a solid performer and can have a good match with most of the guys on the roster, yet no matter how good of a match he has, you’ll still hear about the “five moves of doom.” The Divas have all been working very hard on their in-ring work, but as soon as they’re on television, the IWC collectively says “piss break!”
The biggest criticism I’ve seen of last night’s show was the ending. Oh no, “Super Cena” just beat Awesome Truth all by himself, why does he even need to bother with The Rock at Survivor Series? What show are you watching? Cena beat The Miz, then while Miz was incapacitated, R-Truth tried to attack him, but got caught and ate an AA for his trouble. That’s not Cena beating up two guys at once, that’s Cena beating two guys back to back. If it were Awesome Truth against Cena by himself, Cena gets beat down. See last week’s RAW for proof.
What bugs me is that if ROH did the exact same finish – let’s say with Davey Richards in the John Cena role, and members of The House of Truth in Awesome Truth’s place – these same people who are criticizing Cena would be praising Richards for outsmarting the opposition. You know I’m right.
This is what I want. I want all of my fellow members of the IWC to get off of their little cloud, and watch RAW back as a FAN and not as a cynical asshole desensitized to the business by the internet, and tell me what the hell was so wrong with last night’s show.
Greetings, fellow Bored Wrestling Fans, it is I, ThinkSoJoE here with another edition of the rarely seen “ThinkSoJoE’s Thoughts.” The WWE is in my hometown this weekend for it’s annual Night of Champions Pay Per View, and yours truly will be there.
It is because the WWE Superstars and Divas are in Buffalo as I type this, just a few short miles from my home, that I sent out the very first fax on BoredWrestlingFan.com company letterhead. Hell, before today there was no such thing as BWF company letterhead. The fax was to WWE Media Credentials, a request to interview WWE Superstars and Divas for the site. As it’s Friday and the show is Sunday, I highly doubt I’m going to get a positive response to this particular request, but I’m hopeful that we’ll be able to get our staff in good at future events.
There is another event that I have my eye on covering coming up next month. I will report back as soon as I have any confirmation or denial with more details of what that particular event is. Stay tuned.
If you’re not already, please follow us on Twitter, @BrdWrstlngFn, where this Sunday I will be tweeting as I attend Night of Champions live in Buffalo, NY!
Well first off, before we get down to the wrestling… unless you’ve missed it… there are five wrestlers who you will not see on Smackdown tonight (or any other WWE broadcasting) as they’ve been future endeavored. These would be Melina Perez, Gail Kim, Vladimir Kozlov, Chris Masters, and Harry “DH” Smith. Of the lot, I wouldn’t be shocked to see at least on of these people show up in TNA at some point.
Let’s get onto Smackdown then, shall we? Looks like we’ve got seven matches on the slate, which is fine by me.
Well with then end of the world not happening or now not happening until October, I guess we are here for a few more months I guess. Well that’s not really a bad thing since we are still up and running to give you the best at what we do, what ever that may be. So now without further ado, here’s what I do: (more…)
