  1. WWE Superstars

Hey, my peeps!  It’s time for another random Superstars review.  I’ve been lazy lately and haven’t posted, so let’s get started.

Match 1:  Shad Gaspard vs Goldust

Unfamiliar, generic music (kinda sounds like a hip-hop gospel music beat) hits and Stevie Ray…I mean Shad Gaspard comes out sporting some new Harlem Heat looking short trunks.  Shad has the serious character going, but the look doesn’t quite fit.  Shad pretty much dominates this match throughout, which is a good sign for him considering all of the releases yesterday.  Another good sign for him and JTG is there strap match at Extreme Rules on Sunday.  Goldust got in minimal offense in a quick spurt, but Shad picked up the win with the STO.

Video package showing NXT and their version of Rock em Sock em Robots.  Skip Sheffield won this and his face was plastered all over WWE.com on Wednesday.

Match 2:  Yoshi Tatsu vs Zack Ryder

With Kung Funaki released, Yoshi is now the resident Japanese guy in WWE.  Ryder has dodged a bullet so far, but how long can he hang on to a job?  I like the guy, but WWE writers don’t have anything for him minus the occasional Superstars match.  I think a stable with him and the Dudebusters would be great.   Yoshi wins with a Spinning Heel Kick from the top rope.

Main Event:  Carlito w/Michael Tarver vs John Morrison

Carlito says despite being one of the few RAW superstars that actually made it to RAW this past week, he was disrespected and not put in a match.  Out comes the Shaman of Sexy, the Friday Night Delight, the White Shadow John Morrison.  Morrison is really getting a push on Smackdown…or so it seems.  He had an outstanding match with Jack Swagger recently on Smackdown.  Morrison gets the win with a Flying Chuck as Carlito was distracted by Michael Tarver.

    See ya next week!

We’re still rolling here on the Road to WrestleMania!  Will ShoMiz respond to getting rolled over by John Morrison and R-Truth on Monday?  Will Chris Jericho continue to be rolled over by Edge when the number one contender to Jericho’s title is the guest on the Highlight Reel?  Will I continue to try to work the word “roll” into every sentence?

Let it roll, let it roll, Friday Night SmackDown is unstoppable, and it’s starting now!

It’s the last stop before the Elimination Chamber – what’s to become of John Morrison’s spot if he’s unable to compete?  That’s all I got.  I’m still half asleep.  Anyways, it’s Friday (for another 10 minutes as of the time I’m typing this very sentence), and I’ve got SmackDown fired up and ready to go!

  4. WWE Superstars

Hey, everybody.  Sorry I’m late this week, but I’m here now and ready to kick off on Super Bowl weekend.

Match 1:  Kelly Kelly and Eve Torres vs Katie Lea Burchill and Alicia Fox

Diva wrestling…BOOOOOOO!!!!  Alicia Fox rolls through a Kelly Kelly lateral press for the win.  Anybody care about Diva matches???  I don’t and its my review, so no time for the Divas here.

Match 2:  Evan Bourne vs Carlito

I really like both of these guys.  I find them both extremely entertaining and full of ability.  I know, I know.  There are a lot of people that say Carlito is lazy and doesn’t work hard, but I don’t agree with that.  The guy just makes things look effortless.  He’s graceful in the ring.  As for Evan Bourne, I really wish they would push him in the US title race.  He is absolutely, 100% amazing.  RAW has so many talented guys that they refuse to give substantial pushes to.  These two are prime examples.  This was a fantastic match with a ton of false finishes!!!  Bourne wins with the Shooting Star Press after a Sunset Flip Powerbomb off the top rope.  This match gets two thumbs way way way up!

Main Event:  John Morrison, Matt Hardy and The Great Khali vs The Hart Dynasty and Drew McIntyre

Anytime you get John Morrison, Drew McIntyre, and The Hart Dynasty, you get a good match.  Fatt Lardy sucks now and Khali can’t move, but there is always something negative to every positive.  It’s just how the world works.  The Punjabi Playboy needs to hang it up and Hardy needs to be released…and soon.  How are those two supposed to be a credible tag team when they can’t do anything???  Matt Hardy hits the Twist of Fate and Khali hits the Punjabi Plunge on David Hart Smith for the win.  Matt Hardy does some type of dance to finish the show.  Very weird!

See ya next week, my peeps!

  5. “Smackdown” 1/22/10 (was tardy to class)

Tonight, Rey Mysterio calls out the Undertaker! Rey/Taker matches always seem to be tough ones for the audience because they are (regardless of alignment) the two most over guys on the show. Taker is simply not going to be booed. How will calling out the Dead Man end for the perpetual underdog? We go to the opening credits. (more…)
