I missed the deadline to submit this week, but I’ll still give my insight into the rankings, since they don’t vary too drastically from what I submitted.
The No. 1 contender for the WWE Championship has ridden a wave of recent success to become No. 1 in the Power Poll as well.
1. Randy Orton (2)
Orton’s first face turn didn’t go over too well, but this time around the fans love him, and so do the voters in the Power Poll, as the number one contender to the WWE Championship at Summerslam overtakes the number one spot this week.
2. Kane (4)
The World Heavyweight Champion follows Orton in climbing up the charts via a cool promo to kick off SmackDown, and a chokeslam into the Gulf of Mexico on Rey Mysterio to end the show.
3. Sheamus (3)
The WWE Champion stays put on our charts after defeating an old nemesis in Goldust this week on RAW.
4. John Cena (7)
The leader of Team WWE at SummerSlam can’t manage to hold his team together, but he’s managed to climb up the charts with a victory over now former teammate Chris Jericho on RAW.
5. The Miz (1)
With a loss to Randy Orton and no attempt to cash in his Money In The Bank briefcase this week, The Miz drops four spots to number five.
6. Chris Jericho (8)
Despite a bizarre loss to John Cena on RAW, tapping out before Cena could even get his STF locked in, Chris Jericho manages to climb the rankings of the Power Poll.
7. Rey Mysterio (5)
Kane must have gotten lonely being the only non-RAW wrestler so far on the chart, but that changes with the addition of Rey Mysterio at number 7. Tossing Jack Swagger into the Gulf of Mexico helps Rey stay afloat in the top 10.
8. Rob Van Dam (6)
The TNA World Champion saved Eric Bischoff’s hide from Abyss’s girl Janice, and that saves him from disappearing from the Power Poll.
9. Wade Barrett (10)
Barrett held his own in a match with Edge, even avoiding a Spear attempt before trying to sick the Nexus on his opponent to no avail.
10. C.M. Punk (NR)
The Straight Edge Savior reveals that his arm is just fine before attempting to destroy the right hand of The Big Show on SmackDown, and that catapults him into the Power Poll.

Drowgoddess couldn’t be here today, but we at BWF will be stoked to hear her comments when possible. I just finished watching the Canadian broadcast of NXT when I noticed JoE threw the “G” symbol in the sky. So here is another installment of G’s retarded suffrage that is iMPACT…. you’ve been warned… or as one of my favorite all time wrasslin’ bloggers Zah would say Booyah!!! (more…)
Calling all Bored Wrestling Fans! (more…)
You know, I don’t think I caught an entire wrestling show at all in the past week, not counting last Monday’s RAW. I had to work Tuesday so I left way before the end of NXT. My band got our new t-shirts in on Thursday, so I missed a chunk of TNA. I was dead tired on Friday, so I slept through most of SmackDown. As for the PPV last night? Same thing.
I probably wouldn’t have ordered Fatal Four Way even if I was awake, but I’ve read the results over a few times and I do know one thing – unless Sheamus makes a huge impact on RAW tonight, neither he or Rey Mysterio will be getting much higher than 9th or 10th when I submit my rankings for this week’s Power Poll. I realize the storylines going on in the main event picture on both shows, but how can you have two World Title matches end in a title change via outside interference in one night? That’s my opinion, anyway, and we’ll find out if other wrestling writers (including our own G) agree with me on that one or not.
CZW wrestler Michael “Trent Acid” Verdi was found dead in his Philadelphia home a few days ago. It’s a very rare occasion that we talk about CZW here, and there’s probably a very good reason for that, but now is not the time for CZW bashing. I’d seen Trent Acid perform several years ago as part of the Backseat Boys tag team along with Johnny Kashmere, and the kid was very talented. It’s always sad to lose a member of our wrestling family, and this is no exception.
Reports are that Batista is set to debut for Strikeforce in the near future. At age 41, we’ll have to wait and see how well his body can withstand the abuse of being an MMA fighter.
Lastly, I want to take the time to thank the hard working staff here at BoredWrestlingFan once again for the time and effort they put in to keeping this place running. From our long running staff members Drowgoddess, JT, Legend Killer, and tharvey1, to our newest members AlyKat and G, we have the best writing team on all of the internet, and I truly believe that. I’ll see you guys in a day or two with this weeks Power Poll rankings, but for now, stay tuned for AlyKat’s RAW review!
Your friendly neighborhood Drowgoddess attended a TNA house show on Saturday night, and the following are thoughts and impressions thereof: (more…)
Welcome all and how is everyone? Things are all well here in JTland , but enough about me, I have a whole week of wrestling to to talk about. So without further ado, lets get this show on the road:
1. More releases this week. Last week I forgot to mention the release of WWE referee Scott Armstrong. For those who don’t know, Armstrong was the referee who made The Undertaker “tap out” to CM Punk at Breaking Point. This is a shock because you don’t hear about referee’s being released that often. Also released this week was Charlie Haas which is really no surprise because we barely saw him on TV in the last year, so it was coming.
2.RIP Angelo Poffo, father of The Genius and Randy “Macho Man” Savage.
3. TNA released Awesome Kong, Traci Broooks, and Roxxi. I guess they won’t be focusing hat much on the Knockouts anymore.
4. Sean Morley (aka Val Venis) has left TNA to work in Mexico saying TNA had nothing solid yet. Damn, I figured that TNA would have him under some kind of contract seeming that he just went over TNA founder Jeff Jarrett this past week on iMPACT!
5. So, tomorrow is the “big night” where iMPACT! goes head to head with RAW. While I wish them all the best, unless they air the replays on Thursday, I won’t be tuning in.
6. Rob Van Dam is scheduled to appear on tomorrow night’s iMPACT!
7. What was with the squash match Money In The Bank qualifying matches on RAW this week? Ok, I understand Jack Swagger killing Santino Marella, because Marella is a jobber, but MVP squashing Zack Ryder shouldn’t have happened especially after pushing him to the moon on ECW.
8. Maurice “Mad Dog” Vachon in the inductee into the class of 2010 WWE Hall Of Fame.
9. I’m still not really into the NXT program. I just don’t get what everybody likes about it.
10. If you haven’t seen it yet, watch the Goldust/Chris Jericho match from this weeks Superstars. Hell the whole show was goos, but the Jericho/Goldust matchup was awesome. Lets hope WWE does something with Goldust now that he’s on Smackdown.
11. Ok, so WWE now stops matches when someone gets a cut (Chavo was cut during his match with Kofi Kingston). Come on, this is stupid. Even the live fans didn’t like it. It’s one thing to do it during a live show, but to do during a taped show is just stupid.
12. John Morrison and R-Truth are facing Show-Miz for the WWE Unified Tag Team Titles. I think someone said that a couple weeks ago in his Random article. I wonder who that could be?
13. We have a Slam Master J and Jimmy Wang Yang sightings, yet they weren’t jobbing together. In fact Slam Master J didn’t even wrestle.
14. I don’t know why people give Matt Hardy crap for being fat, he really isn’t. He’s in better shape than most of us are.
15. Apparently now you can get your losses removed from you record no in the WWE, even when you lose clean, twice. Who knew.
16. On a final note, for all of those interested, I will be hosting the Wrestlemania 26 Roundtable and I would like to make this a big one, so all are welcome, but please get me your picks by no later than Friday March 26, 8pm eastern so I can have it up Sat morning.
Ok that all for another week, thanks again for reading and see you all next week.
Surprising releases, surprisingly still employed people, and surprising ch-ch-ch-changes, this week on ThinkSoJoE’s Thoughts!
Greetings from ThinkSoJoE-ville! Yeah, yeah, I know. I stole JT’s Random Randomness intro and just changed JT-Land to ThinkSoJoE-ville. Anyhow, I’ll be filling in for chjpacheco tonight, as his grandmother is in the hospital. We here at BWF wish her a speedy recovery. Tonight, the 8 Card Stud Tournament continues, and um… Uh… well, that’s all that’s been announced so far. Ready? Let’s cross the line, brother!
