1. Well, once again, no money for me this week.  At least this week’s batch of winners sounded excited to be winning money.  Especially the suckup who told Vince that he was the most handsome man she’d ever seen.  This week though, Million-Dollar Mania actually took a back seat to the usual WWE blend of storylines and wrestling matches – and of course, 30 minute Triple H promos.

I’m not really here to write about Mr. McMahon’s millions, or Triple H promos.  I’m not going to devote this space to John Cena, Jeff Hardy, or Shawn Michaels.  No, this week, the RAW rant is about…  Lance Cade.  I can’t stand Lance Cade.  I couldn’t stand him when he was Garrison Cade and teaming with Mark Jindrak.  I couldn’t stand him when he was part of the Redneck Wrecking Crew with Trevor Murdoch.  Now, I have an even stronger dislike for him, because he single-handedly ruined Chris Jericho’s heel turn.  Over the course of the last week, Chris Jericho took out Shawn Michaels, was confronted by Ric Flair, and was told by Triple H, “ever since you’ve been back, I’ve been looking for a reason to make you my business.”  Jericho has played a great heel many times before, and I, along with many other people I’ve talked to, have been waiting for him to turn heel and do it again.  Y2J doesn’t need some second-rate midcarder to help him fight his battles.  So why did Lance Cade attack Triple H during his match with Jericho last night?  Lance Cade, in my opinion, doesn’t have the “it factor” to be a main event star, and his push is going to bomb, mark my words.

  2. Hey guys, I just wanted to give you guys a quick heads up that the posts won’t be up right away after the shows this week – Wednesday’s Podcast will be unaffected.  I usually post my reviews at work after the shows are over, but we’re apparently going to be without power there for another week or so.  Therefore the reviews will be posted after 7AM Eastern Time the next morning.  Sorry for the inconvenience.

  3. I’ll be honest.  I haven’t watched SmackDown in a little while, and as of right this second, I haven’t watched tonight’s episode either.  I’ve got it on my DVR, and am watching the show, so I’m going to do this a little differently than I’ve done with RAW, ECW, and iMPACT.  I’m going to sit here with the show on and pick make observations as we go along, starting with this one:  Why the hell is Vicki Guerrero still in a wheelchair?  Also, I can’t really tell if Vicki has huge heel heat, or if she’s got – with no offense to Shawn Waltman – “X-Pac heat.”  The fans absolutely hate her to the point where she hasn’t gotten through a segment in front of a live crowd in a long time without having to tell them to be quiet.  In any event, she added an amendment to Batista’s World Championship shot contract that says if he loses against The Great Khali tonight, not only will he not get a title shot at Night of Champions, but he’ll go the Undertaker route and be banished from WWE.  I wouldn’t be surprised if he wins tonight and that stipulation carries over to the title match.  Edge “retired” The Undertaker earlier in the month, and it would be huge for him to “retire” Batista later on this month.

I’ll talk about the rest of the show, after the jump!

  4. I love it when we get decent world title matches on free TV (though, technically, since I’m paying $105 a month for cable, is it really free?).  To be honest, Kaz vs. Samoa Joe was a pretty solid match.  Unfortunately for them, they took a back seat to the continuing saga of Kurt and Karen Angle.  It used to be funny when I’d type “Hey look, it’s Kurt Angle” on the message boards at World Wrestling Insanity every time he’d be on screen.  Hell, at least he was champion back then.  Now that Samoa Joe is champion, after beating Kurt Angle for the title, mind you, Joe should be the centerpiece of the program, not curtain jerking while defending his TNA World Title.  Hell, the TNA title match took a backseat to LAX vs. James Storm and Robert Roode for the TNA Tag Titles last night.  It’s a sad state of affairs to think that the lasting impression from last night’s program isn’t going to be Joe holding up his championship after a hard fought title defense, but instead, the image of Karen Angle, lying in pain on the mat after an attack by Awesome Kong.

Ranting and raving about the rest of the show, after the jump.

  5. Well, I actually wanted to start Podcasting here on BoredWrestlingFan this week, but something came up and I wasn’t able to.  Starting next Wednesday, I’ll be doing weekly Podcasts, so be sure to check those out.

Right now, though, I want to give you guys an idea of what we’re going to do here on the site, since I haven’t really established that yet.  Every weekday that there’s a wrestling show on, there will be a post-show blog posted.  Every Wednesday, I’ll be posting a Podcast, in which I’ll discuss news, rumors, and of course, all the TV shows over the past 7 days.  As far as PPVs go, I haven’t quite figured out what I’m doing with those, as I don’t always order them.  As it stands right now, unless there’s a Saturday Night’s Main Event, there will not be any new content added here on Saturdays.

As always, feedback is welcomed in either the comments or the forums!

  6. Call me crazy (or, if you prefer, “Jamaican Me Crazy”), but I actually enjoy ECW on Sci-Fi, even in this post-Joey Styles era.  As long as Kelly Kelly and Layla aren’t having some stupid dance-off.  I’m watching an hour long wrestling program, not Fox’s “So You Think You Can Dance?”  Anyhow, tonight’s edition was pretty good.  One thing that absolutely bugs me though, and TNA did this with Angelina Love and Velvet Sky when they debuted, is when a wrestler debuts on a program then shows up next week with a different name.  Goodbye, Matt Sydal, hello Evan Bourne.  My theory is that the WWE wanted to avoid what they got with CM Punk – a well known indy star with a built-in fan base.  That might sound crazy, but WWE creative want their big stars to be homegrown.  Somebody like CM Punk wasn’t supposed to climb the ladder of success so fast.  When he was brought to the company they had a plan for him, and because of his indy success, they had to throw it out the window and push him whether they wanted to or not.  To this day, you can still see by his recent win-loss record that creative is trying to sabotage him.  Matt Sydal is a name familiar to internet wrestling fans who keep up with the major independent promotions through the country, and as such, they’ve changed his name so that the name recognition disappears and they can build his character the way they want to.  It’s also a good excuse for Mike Adamle to make references to the Bourne movie series.  He did just that on tonight’s edition of ECW.

Other thoughts on tonight’s show, after the jump! (more…)

  7. I guess the odds aren’t all that great.  After all, millions upon millions of fans signed up for Mr. McMahon’s Million-Dollar Mania, right?  Realistically, Mr. McMahon doesn’t have to pay me to watch his television programming – I’ve been doing that on my own for over twenty years, sometimes paying him for the priviledge.  But god damn (and yes, grammar nazis, I know it’s not grammatically correct to start a sentence with the word “but.”), how nice would it be to get a phone call during an episode of RAW from the chairman of the board himself, Vincent Kennedy McMahon, telling you that you have a chance to win some of his mun-ayyyyyyy?  Needless to say that since I’m here at my regular job and blogging about Monday Night RAW, I wasn’t one of the lucky folks who won some of Mr. McMahon’s Millions this week.  That doesn’t mean I didn’t watch RAW this week though, and for the most part, I enjoyed it.

The highlights of the show lamented on, after the jump.
