The Adamle era kicked off last night, and boy what a show it was.  I told you guys that I think Adamle is going to be great in his role as GM, and if last night was any indication, I’m right.  So without further adieu, you can get your RAW results and analysis after the jump!

  3. Speeding up the corporate ladder – RAW 7/28/08

Holy hell – I never expected the new RAW GM to be him!  I’m not going to post it up here though, if you don’t know who it is already.  I didn’t find out who the new RAW GM was until 7:30 this morning, and I’m going to make you wait just the same.  Meanwhile, RAW was pretty… interesting last night.  Michael Cole was in a match, was beaten up, replaced with Mike Adamle, and then later, JR joined Adamle and the King on commentary.  Kane and JBL got into it a few times, Cena and Batista almost went at it, and CM Punk took on William Regal, among other things.

The results, and my analysis after the jump!

  4. We’ll get it right eventually – RAW 7/21/08

Well, the end of the World Heavyweight Championship match at the Great American Bash left things a bit undecided between the World Champion CM Punk and his challenger, Batista.  So they had a rematch last night on RAW, with Punk saying “we’re going to keep doing it until we get it right,” or something along those lines.  Well, they still didn’t get it right, but I suppose I shouldn’t give away what happened just quite yet – after all, there was a whole show before that happened that I need to tell you about!

  5. WWE Great American Bash Results – 7/20/08

Well, the legend of NostraJOEmas went the way of the dinosaur last night.  I was only right on 50% of my predictions (including one that didn’t come up here, I picked Matt Hardy over Shelton Benjamin).  Some of the ones I got wrong didn’t really surprise me, but others did.  I wasn’t too thrilled with the PPV as a whole, though there were some bright spots, including the Shawn Michaels/Chris Jericho match.  To be fair though, I think I went into the show with high expectations after last month’s Night of Champions, and the month of great RAWs and SmackDowns afterwards.

My thoughts, and the show results, after the jump!

  6. Anarchy ensues – RAW, 7/14/08

RAW has been unpredictable as of late, which has been a very good thing.  However, I think it all stops next week.  The reason?  Shane and Stephanie announced on RAW tonight that if the superstars and crew can’t band together to make the show run smoothly, actions will be taken – and William Regal’s suspension via the wellness policy ends later this week.  I don’t expect them to make an announcement on WWE.com or at the bash, but I do expect an announcement at the start of RAW, much like the ones we’ve been getting over the last few weeks, re-instating William Regal as the RAW General Manager.  That said, tonight’s RAW was the craziest one in quite a while.  Despite the pleas from Shane and Stephanie McMahon, there was no order whatsoever in this show – and to quote DDP, that’s not a bad thing, it’s a good thing.  Where to begin?  Well, the beginning I suppose.

  7. Why John Cena appeals to kids – RAW, 7/7/08

I gotta say, I loved the atmosphere on RAW last night. It hearkened back to the 90’s, where anything could, and usually would happen on the Monday night wrestling programs.  Some of it may have been intentional, but the reactions of people involved at least made it seem like they weren’t.  I’ll talk about that more in depth later on in the article.  I’ve also figured out why the younger set love John Cena – his humor is on the same level as theirs, which is another thing I’ll discuss more in-depth as the review goes on.

That said, let’s jump right in – after the jump!

I feel a lot better this week, and as such, this Podcast is probably going to sound a little better than last week.  I actually recorded it at 1:30 this morning to make sure that I would have it up on time this week.  I discuss the past week in professional wrestling, including WWE Night of Champions, and CM Punk winning the World Heavyweight Championship the next night on RAW.

Supplemental material to this week’s Podcast, after the jump.

  9. PUNK WINS! Monday Night RAW 6/30/08

It was bound to happen eventually, but I don’t think anybody expected it to happen last night.  As I’m typing this, I’m looking over my shoulder because my girlfriend is standing directly behind me, hasn’t seen RAW yet, and doesn’t know what happened, so I don’t want to spoil it for her.   She was with me at WrestleMania 24, she saw CM Punk win Money in the Bank live and in person, and we’ve watched him carry that briefcase around on television for the last three months, wondering when he’d cash it in.  Well, Edge found out the hard way last night, as he showed up on RAW and walked out minus one World Championship.  Even by the halfway point of the show, the WWE writers kept us guessing as to whether or not Punk would even leave with his newly won title in hand, but alas, he did.  When my girlfriend does see it, I might ruin it ever so slightly for her though.  See, she’s a Jeff Hardy fan – and if Jeff hadn’t violated the wellness policy and missed WrestleMania, he would be World Heavyweight Champion right now.  Think about that for a second.  Jeff Hardy could be World Champion.  Lesson for you kids:  Don’t do drugs!

  10. CM Punk – WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION!

This is not the official Monday Night RAW posting – that will come in the morning.  I just wanted to throw up a quick post here in celebration of CM Punk cashing in Money In The Bank to bring the World Heavyweight Championship to RAW!  Punk, taking advantage of a fallen Edge who was beaten down by Batista, cashed in his Money in the Bank title shot, hitting Edge with the Go To Sleep to take the World Heavyweight Championship!

    Congrats, Punk!
