  1. ThinkSoJoE’s Thoughts: Rumble edition!

Yours truly with my live (on tape) Rumble Thoughts:

World Heavyweight Championship Match:  Edge vs. Dolph Ziggler

Tony Chimel has finally gotten through puberty – his voice didn’t crack when he announced Edge as “The Rated R Superstar”

I absolutely cannot buy Dolph Ziggler as a legit challenger for the World Heavyweight Championship when he still looks like a knockoff dyslexic Billy Gunn (Ziggler has a backwards D and a backwards Z on his tights).

A 16:9 aspect ratio on a computer monitor is wonderful for doing BWF stuff because I can watch the show on one side of the screen while typing on the other, and I’ve still got a pretty decent sized picture.

Can I get the “NICKY” Spirit Squad graphic that G used a couple weeks back for Ziggler?  I can?  Awesome!

Is that a “Let’s Go Ziggler” chant?  What are these people seeing that I’m not?

And Edge kicks out of the FameAsser, or whatever Ziggler calls it.

See Edge, if you would’ve hooked the tights, you would’ve won there.  It’s like Jesse Ventura always says, “Win if you can, lose if you must, but always cheat.”

Kelly Kelly??  Please don’t ruin Edge with a Kelly Kelly angle!

Has anybody EVER won a championship with a sleeper?  Can somebody look into that for me?

Hmm.  No Vicky.  No referee.  Hmm.  I wonder what could happen now?

Yep.  SPEAR!  Jesse Ventura would be proud.

Killswitch?!?!?!?  That reeks of awesomeness!  Edge Wins!

And Chimel’s voice cracks, making the first point I made in this match null and void.

WWE Championship:  The Miz vs. Randy Orton

Wait, what?  World Heavyweight Championship match first, WWE Championship match next – it’s gotta be the Royal Rumble!  And an Angry Miz Girl shot in the buildup video!

We get a Miz interview!  Awesome!  Ooh, and a shot at the Patriots!

Hey, they got it right this time – the challenger is coming to the ring first!

I like Miz’s trench coat better than mine.  I wonder if he’d trade me.

Michael Cole’s commentary on the Miz reminds me of Bobby Heenan’s commentary on Ric Flair back in the day.  Back when things weren’t often “Fair to Flair.”

I’d venture to say that A-Ry is going to be in the Rumble match, since he’s in his wrestling gear.

I wonder if the announcers realize that winning a title match at Royal Rumble doesn’t mean you’re going to WrestleMania – there’s still Elimination Chamber next month.

The voice of the WWE?  I miss JR.

Can we get one of those old Batman graphics?  Orton hitting his skull on the ringpost?  KAARRR-AAAACK!

Nexus?!?!?  Holy crap, Mason Ryan does look like Batista!

Nice dive out of the way by Chad Patton.

    And Punk with the assist!

King isn’t the only one who doesn’t understand this – I have no idea why Nexus helped Miz win.

Actually, here’s a thought – A-Ry was on NXT with Harris and McGuillicutty.  Perhaps he’s joined Nexus to help The Miz?

Cody Rhodes has dropped out of the Rumble because his face has been shattered by Rey Mysterio.

The fans in Boston think John Cena, Sheamus, Alberto Del Rio, Big Show, Wade Barrett, CM Punk, Rey Mysterio, Santino, Drew McIntyre, and Kofi Kingston are going to win the Royal Rumble.  Apparently.

WWE Divas Championship:  LayCool vs. Natalya

Ugh.  I just wanna get to the Rumble.  In the wo…

    Ha!  Cole got stuck!

And now we’ve got a Fatal Four Way:  Natalya vs. Layla vs. Michelle McCool vs… Eve?!?

    We couldn’t get Kong?!?

WWE Divas Championship:  Natalya vs. Layla vs. Michelle McCool vs. Eve

Why Eve?  Didn’t we start something with Gail Kim on RAW this week?  She couldn’t be in here?  Again, it’s the WWE using Gail Kim in a way that says, “she’s only on our roster so TNA can’t have her.”

Has the Double Sharpshooter ever been done before?  I think I saw Natalya use it before.

Cole and Lawler are acting like they don’t know about Taka Michinoku, when both of them were in WWE while he was.  Indeed!

Wait – so did Eve win?  I’m confused.  Where’s the GM?  Michelle had Natalya pinned at the same time!

Guess he doesn’t want LayCool on RAW either.

Oh look, there’s Gail Kim now!  She’s with Daniel Bryan who is talking about how cool it would be to win the Rumble.  The Bellas apologize to the two of them, then insult them.  Eve is the Divas Champion, and Gail Kim is fighting with the Bellas backstage.  Once again. Say it with me, kids:  “She’s only on our roster so TNA can’t have her.”

Is it time?!?  Huh???  Is it?!?  I don’t care about the Elimination Chamber PPV next month – I just want to see the Rumble match!  Kudos to Matt Striker for pointing out that “Paul Revere” is also the title of a Beastie Boys song.

Rumble by the numbers – that means it’s almost time!

“Ladies and Gentlemen, it is now time… for the BIGGEST ROYAL RUMBLE MATCH in history!”  Hooray!

CM Punk is number one?!?  New Nexus has their work cut out for them helping him win tonight.  Hopefully we’ll get Punk cutting promos between eliminations again this year, I loved that last year!

Wade Barrett?!?  Or is it Zeke?  Oh crap, The Corre just surrounded the ring!  Where’s Nexus?  There they are!  WTF is going on?

The GM says to stop.  The only superstar who has the right to be in the ring is CM Punk.  Everybody else needs to GTFO or they’re out of the Rumble.

And a CM Punk chant breaks out as Daniel Bryan makes his way out, a former member of Nexus himself.

How awesome is it that we get 90 seconds of Punk and Bryan?  The fans in Boston love it too!

Justin Gabriel officially in.  Uh oh….  450 on Punk?  Nope, he missed.  Bryan dumps him and we’re back to Punk/Bryan!

Oh, radio, tell me everything you know…  At least I got to hear a bit of Zack Ryder’s theme!  And two eliminations for Bryan – more Punk/Bryan!

William Regal!  More great technical expertise in the ring!  Punk/Regal/Bryan!

The ring’s filling up, who’s number 7?  JoMo!

Holy shit!  Morrison is FUCKING AWESOME!!!!!

And Regal got dumped by DiBiase in the meantime.

Yoshi Tatsu?  He still works here?

    Husky Harris here to help!

Oooh, Jobbo!  Bets on which one goes out first, Guerrero or Tatsu.  I got Guerrero.

Jobbo hits two suplexes on three straight guys, then the Three Amigos on Bryan.

Mizark Henry out next.  And he tosses Chavo.  I win!

And then Tatsu goes, also courtesy of Mark Henry.

JTG is bringin’ the hood to the Royal Rumble!

Lucky number 13 is Michael McGuillicutty, here to join his Nexus mates CM Punk and Husky Harris in battle, and he eliminates JTG.

Harris and McGuillicutty eliminate DiBiase as Chris Masters makes his entrance.

Why would Masters want to jump right into the middle of the New Nexus members that are in the ring?  Of course, he gets Punk in the Masterlock and almost eliminates him before McGuillicutty saves the day.

David Otunga joins Nexus in the Rumble, and immediately, Punk eliminates Bryan, and Masters, while Nexus quadruple team Morrison out.  It’s Nexus and Mark Henry in the ring, and they dump the World’s Strongest Man as well.

Tyler Reks runs into the ring where The New Nexus are waiting.  Thanks for coming, Tyler!

Next victim:  Vladimir Kozlov.  He gets a good shot on Punk, but The Nexus gang up on him and take him down.  Harris hits his finisher, and Punk tosses him.  Nexus still standing tall.

Next victim:  R-Truth.  He barely makes it into the ring before Nexus swarm on him.  Punk his the knee/bulldog combo in the corner, stopping to mock Truth in the meantime.  R-Truth, gone.  Nexus stand tall.

Next victim:  The Great Khali!  He’s back!  He takes his time to get to the ring, he manages to hold his own, even eliminating Husky Harris.  Khali taking care of Nexus as number 20 gets set to come out…

But it’s Mason Ryan!  Nexus is back at four men in the ring, but Khali gets the upperhand.  Momentarily.  Ryan eliminates Khali, and the Nexus stand tall again.

    CAN YOU DIG IT, SUCKA!!!

The six time World Champion, Booker T has arrived here in the Royal Rumble!  He manages to hold his own against the Nexus, even hitting the scissor kick on Otunga before McGuillicutty attacks – and gets dropped with a bookend…

    SPINAROONIE!!!!!

Mason Ryan saves CM Punk from elimination and dumps Booker T.  Nexus still strong.

BRRRRRRRRRRRAPPLEJUICE!  John Cena is here to take on The Nexus!  Cena eliminates Mason Ryan, he gets Otunga and McGillicutty, and it’s down to John Cena and CM Punk!

With Punk and Cena down, entry number 23 enters – it’s Hornswoggle!?!

Punk sees Hornswoggle, who tells Punk to bring it.  He catches a knee from Punk who goes back to work on Cena.  He tries to eliminate Cena, but Cena reverses it into an AA over the top rope!  Cena’s eliminated, single handedly, 4 of the 5 New Nexus members!  Cena and Hornswoggle stand tall!

Tyson Kidd has no chance here.  Hornswoggle and Cena double team Kidd, and Hornswoggle hits an Attitude Adjustment!  You can’t see Hornswoggle!  You can’t see Kidd either, since Cena tossed him out.

Heath Slater, no stranger to John Cena, is representing the Corre.  Hornswoggle hit Sweet Shin Music and a Stunner on Slater, and Swoggle and Cena hit a double 5 knuckle shuffle, and Horny nails the Tadpole Splash.  Thanks for coming, Heath Slater!  Cena and Swoggle are rolling here!

BOOM!  BOOM!  BOOM!  Friday Night SmackDown’s Intercontinental Champion is fired up and ready to go!  Cena and Kingston look at the WrestleMania sign, and it looks like we’re set for a friendly competition here.  Kingston’s offense stuns Cena.

Jack Swagger has drawn Number 27, the lucky number in the Royal Rumble match, at least in the past.  He hits Cena and Kingston with Vader Bombs, but lets himself get distracted by Swoggle.  Kingston hits a Boom Drop on Swagger off the back of Hornswoggle.

Sheamus joins the fray.  Hornswoggle tries to form an alliance with Sheamus, to no avail.  He tunes up the band, and hits Sweet Shin Music for the second time in this match.  Cena saves Swoggle, but gets socked by Swagger.  Swoggle gets Brogue Kicked by Sheamus out of this match.

Rey Mysterio jumps in, a former Rumble Winner himself, and he takes everybody out, but gets clotheslined by Sheamus before he could hit the 619 on Swagger.

Swagger gets 619ed out of the match by Mysterio.

Wade Barrett represents the Corre at number 30.

Dolph Ziggler is still beat up from his World Heavyweight Title match earlier as he enters at number 31 – the very first number 31 entrant in Royal Rumble history!

BIG DADDY COOL DIESEL!!!  Number 32 is freakin’ Diesel!!

Drew McIntyre joins the growing number of men in the ring.  A “Let’s Go Diesel” chant breaks out.

Diesel gets hit with a 619 by Rey Mysterio.  And in true Kevin Nash fashion, he no-sells it.

AWESOME!!!  But it’s not The Miz in the Royal Rumble, it’s Alex Riley!

Diesel gets eliminated by Wade Barrett.

The Big Show walks slowly toward the ring, stopping to eyeball Diesel as Matt Striker makes references to Boston Bruins defensemen Zdeno Chara being the tallest player in the NHL and shorter than The Big Show.

    Show sends Ziggler packing.

Barrett gets some assistance in the form of Ezekiel Jackson, as Drew McIntyre gets dumped by the Big Show.

Speaking of Big Show, that’s who Zeke eliminates.

IT’S-A HE!  SANTINO!  Beware the Cobra!  He catches a Brogue Kick from Sheamus and rolls under the bottom rope to the floor.

Alberto Del Rio enters the Rumble in a 2008 Bentley, and gets a ring announcement from Ricardo Rodriguez.

Matt Striker mentions that Alex Riley has been eliminated, but I’m not so sure about that.  Randy Orton’s music hits and he attacks Del Rio, who hadn’t made it to the ring yet.  He nails several RKOs before eliminating Kingston and Sheamus.

The two men standing at the moment:  John Cena, and Randy Orton.  They gaze at the WrestleMania sign, but before they can go at it, Kane, making his 13th straight Rumble appearance, enters at number 40!

    Hmm.  No Triple H?

    Ezekiel Jackson eliminated by Kane.

Kane by Mysterio, followed by Mysterio by Barrett.

Apparently Santino and Riley are gone, despite neither one of them, from my vantage point, being thrown over the top rope to the floor.  The final four – Barrett, Orton, Cena, and Del Rio.

Orton and Cena start going at it with Barrett and Del Rio down.  Cena goes for an AA, but Barrett stops him.

Cena hits the AA on Del Rio, but A-Ry distracts Cena, as Miz dumps Cena over the top rope!  Barrett, Del Rio, and Orton are left!

Orton eliminates Barrett – and Del Rio sneaks up behind and eliminates Orton!

The referee tells Del Rio that he hasn’t won.  Santino was never eliminated.  He nails the Cobra!  Throw him out, Santino!

Santino tries, but Del Rio turns the tide and tosses Santino.  Alberto Del Rio is going to WrestleMania!

  2. BWF Roundtable: TNA Final Resolution 2009

Hey folks, I’m ThinkSoJoE, and I’ll be your host for our TNA Final Resolution 2009 roundtable.  Ready?  Let’s go!

TNA World Heavyweight Championship match:  AJ Styles (C) vs. Daniels

Drowgoddess: AJ retains after the possible match of the night, and some skullduggery on the part of Daniels. AJ/Daniels can continue to build for a while, and Daniels shouldn’t get the win and title just yet. Additionally, AJ is the ideal face of the company, and during this time of major upheaval, taking the belt off of him would be an incredibly foolish move.

    chjpacheco: Daniels wins via DQ

    JT: AJ Styles over Daniels

ThinkSoJoE: We’re treading water until Hogan shows up, look for Styles and Daniels to steal the show but for Styles to retain.

Three Degrees of Pain: Kurt Angle vs. Desmond Wolfe

Drowgoddess: Desmond Wolfe wins in the third match after considerable treachery. The matches between these two have been fantastic, and the feud should not end yet. Angle pulled out a last-second win at the last ppv, and Wolfe needs one here to keep the momentum and the feud going. A loss here will not hurt Angle at all.

chjpacheco: Wolfe wins only reason i say that is because of Kurt’s neck

    JT: Wolfe over Angle

ThinkSoJoE: I think Wolfe will take this one.  I’d actually like to see more of Wolfe vs. Daniels, but I’ll take a continuation of Wolfe/Angle any day.

Last Man Standing Match:  Bobby Lashley vs. Scott Steiner

Drowgoddess: I really don’t care about this match at all. I’d like to see Steiner win because Lashley is a complete waste of space. However, until TNA decides what to do about Lashley’s MMA career, they’ll likely try to keep him as strong as possible. Steiner holds the only victory over Lashley in TNA right now, so Lashley will probably win here. Kristal will help.

chjpacheco: Steiner because if Bobby as his wife at ring side she will be a distraction

JT: Bobby Lashley over Scott Steiner

ThinkSoJoE: Lashley is likely going to pick up the win here.  I’d love to see Steiner win, but I just can’t see it happening for some reason.

TNA World Tag Team Championship:  The British Invasion (C) vs. Motor City Machine Guns

Drowgoddess: Oh. Sweet. Mother. Of. God. This match has gotten zero attention, zero hype, and precisely one promo pointing out the lack of attention given the match. The promo war between Alex Shelley and Brutus Magnus could have been GOLD! That’s as may be. Give the MCMG the tag team title run that they have so richly deserved for the past two and a half years, already!

chjpacheco: MCM i hate the british invasion they need NOT to have the belts

JT: Machineguns w win the titles

ThinkSoJoE: You guys are kidding yourselves.  The British Invasion are not losing those titles tonight, not in a completely underhyped match with zero real buildup against a team that, despite quite possibly being the best tag team in the world, hasn’t been pushed like one.

TNA Knockouts Championship:  ODB (C) vs. Tara

Drowgoddess: Tara wins. ODB’s heel turn and recent losses on “iMPACT” have weakened her enough that she would be better as the resentful ex-champ chasing her title.

chjpacheco: Tara its her time to shine

    JT: No title change here

ThinkSoJoE: I’ve got to go with Tara.  ODB is definitely in line for a heel turn, and the tactics she’s been using definitely lend themselves toward a title chase.  Tara will overcome ODB and walk out as Knockouts Champion.

Mick Foley & Abyss vs. Raven & Dr. Stevie

Drowgoddess: Raven and Dr. Stevie win. Foley will not be focused on this match, and won’t really care what happens. Abyss takes the fall here.

chjpacheco: Raven and Dr. Stevie i have a feeling that an old friend from ecw is going to show up

JT: Raven and Dr. Stevie win

ThinkSoJoE: Raven and Dr. Stevie are really the first victims of Hogan coming in, aren’t they?  They haven’t gotten a lot of TV time over the past couple of weeks because one of their opponents is too busy worrying about Hogan.  That’s also going to be Foley’s downfall, as he’ll be too concerned about Hogan to worry about actually winning this match.

Team 3D, Rhino, and Jesse Neal vs. D’Angelo Dinero, Matt Morgan, Suicide, and Hernandez

Drowgoddess: Hernandez lasts the first five minutes against the entire heel team, but will be eliminated after his team enters. The babyface team will get down to either Matt Morgan or “The Pope.” The heel team will outnumber the last babyface. Either Morgan or “The Pope” gets the win for his team.

chjpacheco: Team 3D, Rhino, Jesse Neal..just cuz they’re better

    JT: Morgan and Suicide surivive!

ThinkSoJoE: There’s something strange going on, and I can’t quite figure out what it is.  It’s got to do with Suicide.  I’m picking Team 3D, Rhino, and Jesse Neal, simply because I have a feeling in my gut that something will happen with Suicide.

Feast Or Fired:  Samoa Joe, Beer Money Inc., Kevin Nash, Eric Young, and Sheik Abdul Bashir vs. Kiyoshi, Homicide, Jay Lethal, Consequences Creed, and Cody Deaner

Drowgoddess: Samoa Joe gets the X-Division title shot, and is furious. He will go on a rampage over this.
Kiyoshi gets the Tag Team title shot for himself and Bashir against the new champs, the MCMG.
I thought that Rob Terry was in this match, and I was calling him to get the World Heavyweight title shot, but since that doesn’t seem to be true, Robert Roode gets it.
Either Cody Deaner or Eric Young will get fired, but Young will be reinstated by Kevin Nash.

chjpacheco: Cody Deaner gets fired just because he isn’t being used and he sucks feast will be Kevin Nash because he has the money

JT: Eric Young gets fired, James storm gets the title shot, Roode gets the X-division shot and cody deaner gets the tag shot.

ThinkSoJoE: Deaner’s getting fired, I think that’s pretty obvious.  Storm is going to grab the Tag Team Championship shot, Homicide the X division title shot, and finally, Samoa Joe the World Championship shot.  No reason for the picks, just really not sure.

Who’s right?  Who’s wrong?  Find out tonight as TNA Wrestling Presents Final Resolution!

  3. BWF Roundtable: Hell In A Cell

What’s up everyone and welcome to the second edition of the Roundtable. Tonight I am your host as we sit down and predict this Sunday’s “Hell In A Cell” pay per view! Tonight we all of the BWF staff on board with their predictions, so without further ado, let’s get this show on the road:

    1. World Heavyweight Championship Match- CM Punk vs. Undertaker (Hell in a Cell Match):

Legend Killer: Punk retains. Oh yeah, nobody else picks it, but watch for Batista.

ThinkSoJoE: We still don’t know for sure who put Long, Punk, and Scott Armstrong up to screwing The Undertaker at Breaking Point, so I’m sure that he’ll get screwed again at Hell In A Cell. Punk’s leaving with the gold.

    Tharvey1: Undertaker over CM Punk

Drowgoddess: I want CM Punk to win and retain the title. It’s considered a foregone conclusion that Taker wins here, but it’s just too soon. Taker winning here makes no sense.

JT: It is more logical to have Punk retain here since he has people to feud with such as Batista, Rey Mysterio, And even to a lesser extent Great Khali and John Morrsion. If Taker wins he has Kane and that’s about it unless they turn Batista heel, which I don’t see happening. Punk retains.

    2. Divas Championship Match- Mickie James vs. Alicia Fox:

Legend Killer: Mickie James. Who the hell is Alicia Fox?

ThinkSoJoE: Why even have a Hell in a Cell PPV if you don’t have EVERY match inside a Hell In A Cell? This one will be a victory for Mickie James if the WWE wants their women’s division to have even an ounce of credibility compared to TNA’s

Tharvey1: Mickie James over Alicia Fox

Drowgoddess: Mickie James. That Alicia Fox is even in a ppv title match is appalling.

JT: Mickie James. Do I really need to explain.

    3. WWE Championship Match- John Cena vs. Randy Orton (Hell in a Cell Match):

Legend Killer: Cena. Because the WWE are like that.

ThinkSoJoE: Cena just won the title. Cena sells merchandise. WWE have a new toy deal starting in January with Mattel, and cheap looking toy championships to sell. Cena ain’t losing at HIAC.

Tharvey1: John Cena over Randy Orton

Drowgoddess: Cena wins. After the last RAW, it’s a given.

JT: I think that the stipulation in that if Orton loses, he can’t have another title shot. So, I’m going with Orton here. Plus like with Punk, it’s better for Orton to be champ, since he can go on to feud with HHH and HBK and even the long awaited Mark Henry feud we’ve all been waiting for. If Cena wins, he has nobody and babyface vs. babyface feuds can’t happen all the time.

    4. D-Generation X vs. The Legacy (Hell in a Cell Match):

Legend Killer: DX. See previous match. Also, Cody Rhodes was Rey Mysterio jr. in WCW.

ThinkSoJoE: If there wasn’t another PPV between now and Survivor Series, there would be no question in my mind about Legacy winning this match. My assumption is that they’re still booking DX & Cena vs. Orton and Legacy as the dark main event for RAW events after Bragging Rights later this month, the theory of DX finally getting their revenge at Survivor Series could still hold up. I’m going to go with Legacy here.

    Tharvey1: DX over Legacy

Drowgoddess: Who are we kidding? DX wins here, and in humiliating fashion. I completely disagree with the people who say that DX has effectively put over Legacy, and that a DX win at HIAC is acceptable.

JT: I’ve got two words for ya: “DX WINS!” I don’t see Legacy having any chance here.

    5. United States Championship Match- Kofi Kingston vs. The Miz vs. Jack Swagger:

Legend Killer: The Miz. His opponents are a palm tree after a bushfire, and the second is the re-incarnation of Dusty Rhodes.
ThinkSoJoe: All three of these guys have been in a game of one-upsmanship over the past few weeks. Kofi’s outsmarted Miz and Swagger on a few occasions, leading me to believe he’s retaining.

Tharvey1: Jack Swagger over Miz and Kofi Kingston

Drowgoddess: I like all three of these guys, and will be happy no matter who wins. That said, I’m going with Kofi to retain, and Swagger and The Miz to develop a feud of their own over it.

JT: Kofi Kingstion has been champion since June, so a title change is eminent. I’m gonna go with Swagger here.

    6. Unified Tag Team Championship Match- Chris Jericho & Big Show vs. Batista & Rey Mysterio:

Legend Killer: Batista and Rey. You really see them losing? Silly wrestling fan, WWE is for kids. Yes, the WWE is now a breakfast cereal.

ThinkSoJoE: Look. I’m going to give the same prediction I’ve given before. They took the time to have a band come in and remake a remix of Jericho and Big Show’s theme music. They’re not splitting the team up this quickly by ending their reign at Hell In A Cell. If they do, and I have to see Batista when RAW comes to Buffalo in three weeks, I’ll be very upset.

Tharvey1: JeriShow over Boretista and Rey Mysterio

Drowgoddess: Batista and Rey would not be in this match if they weren’t going to win it. I don’t want them to, but I predict that they will. That said, I want JeriShow to retain until Edge comes back, and have Edge and Jericho start their inevitable feud with Edge and Christian (who will have lost the ECW title to Regal) winning the tag team titles one more time.

JT: There hasn’t been enough build for this match for me to believe that the titles will change hands. Plus Mysterio has unfinished business with John Morrison and Dolph Ziggler. Plus both Rey and Batista are the next in line to be World Title contenders. Jericho and Big Show retain and keep thetitles until Edge returns and causes them to lose them.

    7. Intercontinental Championship Match- John Morrison vs. Dolph Ziggler:

    Legend Killer: errrr … Morrison?

ThinkSoJoE: PLEASE let Ziggler win. It’s no secret that I’m a huge JoMo mark, but the whole “Mr. Ziggles” thing got real old, real quick. I want Ziggler to win just so Morrison will take him seriously enough to stop calling him that. So, my pick is Ziggler.

Tharvey1: John Morrison over Dolph Ziggler

Drowgoddess: Ziggler has been doing well, and I like the guy more than I thought I would, but I don’t see the Guru of Greatness losing the title just yet. With the hint of a Maria heel turn recently, I’d like to see a slow burn on that where Maria eventually does something despicable to help Ziggler win the title, and we have a new heel couple. Morrison retains.

JT: With Rey returning, I think that he’ll want a rematch for the title at some point, probably the first or second Smackdown after the pay per view, and he will face the champion, John Morrison! Ziggler’s day is coming though.

Alright that’s all thanks for joining us for this edition of the BWF Roundtable. Tune in tomorrow for “Hell In A Cell” coverage, plus an all new Random Randomness!

  4. TNA’s “No Surrender” Predictions – a BWF Round Table

    TNA “No Surrender” Predictions

    World Heavyweight Championship match
Sting vs. AJ Styles vs. Matt Morgan vs. Kurt Angle (ch)

JT: Matt Morgan – TNA needs to go for it and put the belt on him now. He wins by pinning either Sting or AJ Styles.

ThinkSoJoE: Gotta go with Angle here – Sting and AJ are “Bound for Glory” bound, Morgan isn’t ready for it yet.

The Green Teabagger: Matt Morgan reveals he was with Angle all along and helps Angle retain The Precious. Sounds like another addition to The Intro!

Legend Killer: Kurt Angle. Do you really see Matt Morgan winning?

Drowgoddess: AJ Styles to win, because he and Sting can still fight at BFG with AJ being the champ. The guy carried the company since the very first day, and he is long overdue to have the gold that proves it. AJ is not the future of wrestling, he has been the present of wrestling for the past seven years. I just hope against hope that Matt Morgan doesn’t turn out to be on Angle’s side after all. For one thing, we’ve already seen that when Samoa Joe joined the MEM and handed Angle the title. For the other thing, people are going crazy in a good way over Morgan blatantly playing games with Angle, and a swerve for the sake of a swerve will only destroy Morgan’s momentum and connection with the fans.

“The Boss” Bobby Lashley vs. “The War Machine” Rhino

JT: Lashley – It’s his first ppv match since joining TNA, no way he’s gonna lose.

ThinkSoJoE: Lashley. They’re going to put that much hype behind the Bruce Springsteen wannabe to have him job to the War Machine? Psh.

The Green Teabagger: Yeah, like Rhino has a chance. Rhino was forgotten until they needed someone to take a dive for a part-timer. Reality check: Barring injury, stupid shit, or Angle getting thrown in jail, the main event at BFG 5 is Angle-Lashley for the title. Lashley is going into that undefeated, but it will probably be his third match in TNA. Next month, he’ll probably be facing Homicide.

Legend Killer: Black Lesnar. Have this guy, that you’re hyping up to be the cornerstone of the company, then have him lose in his first match.

Drowgoddess: Everybody, even a pygmy deaf-mute in the Amazonian rain forest, knows that Lashley is winning this match. Lashley is the latest ex-WWE savior of TNA, and as such, will be absolutely dominant until he finally fights Kurt Angle.

    X-Division Championship match
    Daniels vs. Samoa Joe (ch)

JT: Joe – Wait, is this a feud??? Wow, this shows how much attention I pay to iMPACT! every week. I don’t see Samoa Joe losing the title anytime soon.

ThinkSoJoE: Joe. For no other reason than Joe is gonna kill you.

The Green Teabagger: I’d like Daniels to win the title and go on to a feud with The Pope D’Angelo Dinero. Right, like the MEM is giving up a belt, but this would be the one they lose if they do lose any of them anytime soon. Samoa Joe retains.

Legend Killer: Samoa Joe. Daniels wants to bring the X-Division back, but Joe’s only held the belt a month.

Drowgoddess: I could go either way in this match and be happy, but Samoa Joe retains here. Daniels SHOULD win the X-Division title, but the timing may not be right.

“Lethal Lockdown” tag team cage match
Beer Money vs. The British Invasion vs. Team 3D vs. Scott Steiner & Booker T (ch)

JT: British Invasion – There’s a Lethal Lockdown match??? I seriously didn’t know about this one until this week’s iMPACT!, but since they’re trying to tease a feud between the MEM and the British Invasion, I’ll go with them.

    ThinkSoJoE: BEER MONEY!

The Green Teabagger: No titles are on the line, so Beer Money and Team 3-D win this match. That way, it looks “balanced.” :/

Legend Killer: Team 3D and Beer Money Inc. Three words. Beer Money Inc.

Drowgoddess: I’m still confused about this match. I thought that it was a four-way match for the tag team titles in a cage, under “Lethal Lockdown” rules. Now, it seems to be a non-title match with two teams of four. The website and the tv program are not in alignment on this! Either Beer Money wins or The British Invasion (in the form of Brutus Magnus) steals a third pin and victory from Steiner and Booker.

“$50,000 Bounty vs. Legends Championship” match
    Abyss vs. Kevin Nash (ch)

JT: Nash (as long as he doesn’t get injured walking to the ring or boning fat chicks) – Dr. Stevie gets involved, Nash wins.

ThinkSoJoE: If the title is on the line, Nash. If not, Abyss.

The Green Teabagger: I want Abyss to win the Legends Title. That said, I almost expect Foley to either insert himself into this match at the last moment to make it a Triple Threat. Either way, if Nash shows up, he wins.

Legend Killer: Abyss. You watch Foley interfere in this one. I say Abyss, just so it pisses off Foley. However, Nash claims the bounty.

Drowgoddess: I’m not terribly excited about this match. No way is Nash losing. Mick Foley and Dr. Stevie will likely get involved, somehow.

Knockouts Championship match (title is held up)
    ODB vs. Cody Deaner

JT: ODB – The women’s title should be on a woman, not a man, enough said.

ThinkSoJoE: Given the fact that every Knockout beat the crap out of Deaner this past Thursday, going with ODB.

The Green Teabagger: If there is a just and loving God, ODB will win this match. I’m still picking Cody Deaner because Russo has the book.

Legend Killer: Cody Deaner. Because TNA are that retarded to do that.

Drowgoddess: ODB has got to win. End this horribly unfunny abomination of allowing Cody Deaner to cheapen a title that actually did mean something!

Finals of the Knockouts tag team championship tournament
The Beautiful People vs. Taylor Wilde & Sarita

JT: The Beautiful People – Don’t really have a reason why, just picking them.

ThinkSoJoE: I’m going with Taylor and Sarita for the sheer fact that Angelina Love won’t be there.

The Green Teabagger: The Beautiful People….Vel Vel and 🙁 Madison Rayne, subbing for Angelina Love. Because it’s as close to the assumed original plan as they can, Rayne and Vel Vel with the Knockouts Tag Team Titles.  They will still be more legit tag champions than The British Invasion.

Legend Killer: Taylor/Sarita. Considering one of their opponents no longer works for the company, I’d say it’s a good bet.

Drowgoddess: Taylor Wilde and Sarita should win, but the only reason that Madison Rayne got back together with The Beautiful People is because Angelina Love won’t be at the ppv. That’s quite a lot of trouble to go to unless the only plan is to have The Beautiful People win. Therefore, I’m predicting a Velvet Sky/Madison Rayne victory.

    Grudge match
    Eric Young vs. Hernandez

JT: Hernandez – I think everyone knows how much I hate Eric Young, so yeah, my pick might be a little biased, but I’m sticking to it.

ThinkSoJoE: EY will take this one, likely with help from Homicide.

The Green Teabagger: Eric Young wins with a combination of cheating, chairs, and a piledriver. JT will probably say, “Fuck Eric Young!” before, during, and after. I will be watching the New York Giants dissect the Dallas Cowboys.

Legend Killer: Hernandez. Even with Homicide in his corner, the chum for Team Canada has no chance.

Drowgoddess: I don’t hate Eric Young. I think he’s doing the best work of his career, and the “cheap knock-off of Chris Jericho” accusations really aren’t fair. Hernandez has destroyed all of World Elite that have challenged him thus far, so Eric Young has to win, by hook or by crook.

  5. WWE RAW & ECW on Sci Fi thoughts

Well, like I said yesterday, folks, I was under the weather.  I didn’t tell it to get up and move, like Drowgoddess suggested – it did that on it’s own.  Either that or it saw her comment and decided it didn’t want a Texas sized ass kicking.

Hey, speaking of Texas sized ass kickings, Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker will wrestle at WrestleMania!  They kicked off Monday Night RAW with a killer back and forth promo – probably one of the best promos in years in the WWE.  Undertaker was going to tell HBK to rest in peace, but HBK interrupted, saying he’d rest comfortably knowing that he ended the streak.

More of RAW, and all of ECW, after the jump! (more…)

  6. SmackDown – 2/27/09

Alright, I watched SmackDown last night, and don’t feel like watching it over again to review it, so we’re gonna wing it – like this week’s ECW review, but better.  I know, I know, you’re all wondering, “Why didn’t you just review the show while you were watching it?”  Well, I’ll tell you why.  Because I’m f#$%ing lazy, that’s why!

So, put the blue ropes on the ring, paint your face up all wacky, steal a Heavyweight Championship, and job to Kung Fu Naki, it’s time for SmackDown!

After the jump, of course! (more…)
