  1. A case for the Hall of Fame: Edge

Twenty-seven is an ominous number for rock stars.  Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and several others have died at that age.  It’s also a number associated with “Weird Al” Yankovic for some reason.  It’s also the number of championships the man we’re here to talk about today has won during his WWE career as of press time.  He’s the only person to have held all six major championships across RAW and SmackDown.  He’s also the only person that Hulk Hogan has ever held a tag team championship with.  I’m referring, of course, to SmackDown’s current World Heavyweight Champion, Edge.

  2. Quick note from ThinkSoJoE

Hello, fellow Bored Wrestling Fans. Thank you all for once again helping BWF set a site record for monthly page views. 1576 pages have been viewed through the month of April, which is now the third straight month that the readership of this site has grown. A special thanks this month to LegendKiller, who did killer numbers for his WrestleMania real-time, and tharvey1 who joined the BWF family to cover WWE Superstars every Thursday night.

In other site related news, over the course of the next week I will be without my own internet connection at home (I’m leeching off of somebody else’s in my new apartment at the moment.) and therefore some of my WWE coverage will be handled by somebody else, posted late, or direct you elsewhere. This will not effect my weekly column, as a new edition of “A case for the Hall of Fame” will be published tomorrow at noon. Hope you all enjoy it, and thanks once again for visiting BoredWrestlingFan.com!

  3. New Skin: BlueMania 25

Hey guys, I just added a new skin to the list of choices. This one is a WrestleMania 25 inspired minimalist blue and silver themed skin called “BlueMania 25.”

Speaking of Blue, I haven’t watched SmackDown from this past Friday yet, but here are the results for your reading pleasure:

Triple H says he’s the cure for the disease that is Randy Orton. Then he beat Vladimir Kozlov.

MVP recaptured the United States Championship, defeating Shelton Benjamin.

    Shawn Michaels defeated Kane

Jeff Hardy beat The Brian Kendrick in an extreme rules match. We find out that Jeff’s match with brother Matt at WrestleMania will also be extreme rules.

The Von Erich family is being inducted into the hall of fame by Michael P.S. Hayes

    The Undertaker defeated JBL

Vickie Guerrero announced that the winner of the triple threat at WrestleMania will win her heart. This led to an altercation between Edge, The Big Show, and John Cena that left Vickie victimized by an accidental spear from Edge. Big Show carried Vickie off.

  4. Why I hate: WWE Cyber Sunday

This article is part 9 of a series on WWE Pay Per View events.  See also:  Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, Part 6, Part 7, and Part 8.

WWE Fans tend to think that they’re just as much a part of the show as the performers in the ring.  To an extent, they are.  A hot crowd can make a mediocre match feel like a five star classic.  Fans reactions to performers can even influence how the Superstars’ careers turn out.  Steve Austin is a prime example of a guy who promoters didn’t know what to do with until the crowd got behind him and made him, arguably, one of the biggest names in the history of the industry.  Make no mistake about it, if the fans didn’t get behind him, he wouldn’t be going into the Hall of Fame in a couple of weeks.  So since the fans are an important part of the show anyway, why not give them the book, right?

  7. SmackDown – 2/27/09

Alright, I watched SmackDown last night, and don’t feel like watching it over again to review it, so we’re gonna wing it – like this week’s ECW review, but better.  I know, I know, you’re all wondering, “Why didn’t you just review the show while you were watching it?”  Well, I’ll tell you why.  Because I’m f#$%ing lazy, that’s why!

So, put the blue ropes on the ring, paint your face up all wacky, steal a Heavyweight Championship, and job to Kung Fu Naki, it’s time for SmackDown!

After the jump, of course! (more…)

  8. ECW on SciFi Review – 1/13/09

Tonight, Jack Swagger finally gets his shot at the ECW Champion, Matt Hardy.  Will the rookie from the New Superstar Initiative be successful in his first attempt at WWE gold?  There’s only one way to find out!  Ok, there’s a bunch of different ways to find out, but if you’re not watching the show, I’ve got a good way for you…
