Your friendly neighborhood Drowgoddess is covering this week’s “Smackdown,” as our fearless leader, ThinkSoJoE, was actually in attendance. This review should have gone up yesterday, but due to completely unexpected personal matters of the happy persuasion, you’re getting it now. With a smile. 🙂
Darren Young, CM Punk’s rookie, defeated Jennifer Hudson’s fiancee and R-Truth’s rookie, David Otunga in the opening contest. Luke Gallows and Truth got into a discussion outside of the ring, and as the referee was distracted, Punk tripped up Otunga, allowing Young to pick up the victory.
After the match, Otunga shoved Truth.

During the break, David Otunga and R-Truth got into a bit of a brawl before officials broke it up.
Chris Jericho is introduced, and he comes to the stage to introduce Wade Barrett

The Miz and Carlito watch from a monitor backstage, as Barrett dominates early on. Barrett hits a spinebuster and it’s too much for Bryan to overcome.

Later on tonight, Justin Gabriel teams with his pro Matt Hardy to face Skip Sheffield and his pro, William Regal.

Backstage: Heath Slater is bragging about his and Christian’s win last week. Christian tells him that he shouldn’t be overconfident, and that David Otunga won his match too.

Regal and Skip Sheffield make their way to the ring.
<COMMERCIAL BREAK>

Gabriel picked up the win for his team. Matt Hardy dropped Regal with a Twist of Fate, and Gabriel nailed a 450 splash, picking up the victory.
Backstage: Matt Striker is with the rest of the rookies. Carlito comes in and spits in the face of Heath Slater. He says that’s cool. Slater doesn’t think so, but Striker says, “That’s NXT.”
Welcome everyone again and welcome to another edition of this thing called an article, where I try to tell you the goings on in my head. Â Well hopefully my non-hangover state will help me this week so without further ado, lets go: (more…)
Welcome, my friends to the show that never ends. I’m so glad you could attend. Come inside, come inside. The Circus that is WWE Superstars is here.
Match 1:Â Jack Swagger and William Regal vs Santino Marella and Chris Masters w/ Eve
Santino is absolutely hilarious! He hit a cartwheel and the drop-down splits and then attempted to unleash the cobra. Swagger and Masters need to compete for the US Title. The end of the match came when Masters put the Masterlock on Swagger, but Regal interrupted and Swagger hit the gutwrench powerbomb for the win.
Match 2:Â Zack Ryder w/ Rosa Mendez vs Primo Colon
This was a highly entertaining match. Primo is quick and exciting and Ryder is definitely a rising star in the WWE. Woo Woo Woo…You know it! Primo got in his fast offense, highlighted by his cartwheel. Ryder hit the Rough Ryder and eventually the Zack Attack for the win. Ryder is another guy who should be thrown into the US Title mix. The problem with RAW right now is there are too many guys who should be involved in the US Title hunt.Â
Match 3:Â Luke Gallows w/ Serena vs Sylas Young
Its about time they give Gallows some time on his own without Punk. He cut a promo saying Serena and him would like to dedicate the match to their Straight Edge savior, CM Punk. This was a quick squash for Gallows to exhibit his power and dominance since most people don’t recognize him as the former Festus. He has some unique offense and hit the 12th Step for the win. Serena then gets in the ring and kicks Young in the ribs and out of the ring.
Main Event:Â Great Khali, Matt Hardy, and Maria vs The Hart Dynasty
What is the point of Khali and Fatt Lardy being partners? Surely they could have found a better partner that isn’t doing anything at the time for each of these two. They both suck, so I don’t understand why people want to see them. Khali can’t move and Hardy apparently is living off past glory. It’s good he went back to the pants and got away from the baby pajama bottoms he was wearing. The Hart Dynasty should be working more meaningful matches than this. They are probably the best tag team in the WWE and should be shown as such. Tyson Kidd hit the Hart Attack on Matt Hardy for the win.Â
See ya next week for another arousing episode of WWE Superstars.
This is it. The last episode of ECW and this time it’s unlikely there will be another revival. We’ve got a Unfied Tag Team Title Match featuring Yoshi Tatsi and Goldust challenging Show-Miz and Christian will defend the ECW title against Ezekial Jackson. (more…)
Hey, everybody. Sorry I’m late this week, but I’m here now and ready to kick off on Super Bowl weekend.Â
Match 1:Â Kelly Kelly and Eve Torres vs Katie Lea Burchill and Alicia Fox
Diva wrestling…BOOOOOOO!!!! Alicia Fox rolls through a Kelly Kelly lateral press for the win. Anybody care about Diva matches??? I don’t and its my review, so no time for the Divas here.
Match 2:Â Evan Bourne vs Carlito
I really like both of these guys. I find them both extremely entertaining and full of ability. I know, I know. There are a lot of people that say Carlito is lazy and doesn’t work hard, but I don’t agree with that. The guy just makes things look effortless. He’s graceful in the ring. As for Evan Bourne, I really wish they would push him in the US title race. He is absolutely, 100% amazing. RAW has so many talented guys that they refuse to give substantial pushes to. These two are prime examples. This was a fantastic match with a ton of false finishes!!! Bourne wins with the Shooting Star Press after a Sunset Flip Powerbomb off the top rope. This match gets two thumbs way way way up!
Main Event:Â John Morrison, Matt Hardy and The Great Khali vs The Hart Dynasty and Drew McIntyre
Anytime you get John Morrison, Drew McIntyre, and The Hart Dynasty, you get a good match. Fatt Lardy sucks now and Khali can’t move, but there is always something negative to every positive. It’s just how the world works. The Punjabi Playboy needs to hang it up and Hardy needs to be released…and soon. How are those two supposed to be a credible tag team when they can’t do anything??? Matt Hardy hits the Twist of Fate and Khali hits the Punjabi Plunge on David Hart Smith for the win. Matt Hardy does some type of dance to finish the show. Very weird!
Match 1:Â The Bella Twins vs Jillian Hall and Katie Lea
Brie Bella has a tattoo and Nikki doesn’t. That’s all that matters in this match. The Bellas get the win.
Match 2: Chavo Guerrero vs Primo vs Chris Masters w/ Eve
The winner of this triple threat match gets a spot in the Royal Rumble. I like Chris Masters. I think the guy can get the job done. All he needs is a chance. This is a pretty fast paced match, as it always is with Primo. Maybe Chavo and Primo should form a tag team. That would be pretty entertaining. Masters gets the win with the Masterlock on Chavo to get his spot in the Rumble. I would love it if Masters would win the Rumble…that would be sPECKtacular! See what I did there???
Chris Jericho makes his way to the ring to cut a promo in his dapper suit. He then proceeds to call every superstar in the WWE a liar for claiming they will win the Royal Rumble because he guaruntees a victory. R-Truth interupts with a WUSSUP?! in Jericho’s face. He says he will win the Rumble and beats Jericho down.
Main Event:Â Matt Hardy w/ Great Khali and Ranjin Singh vs David Hart Smith w/ the Hart Dynasty
This is the perfect place for Fatt Lardy to main event. He just doesn’t do anything for me. I apologize to the people who like him, but he sucks now. David Hart Smith has grown on me, however. He still needs to tone that belly he has, but he is good. Smith wins with a Big Boot after the ref is distracted and Tyson Kidd hangs Matt’s arm on the top rope. Khali then comes in to clean house including Matt Hardy. I guess he thinks he’s gonna win the Rumble too.
That’s it for Superstars this week. Remember Smackdown is tomorrow night and the Royal Rumble is Sunday.
We’re at the final ECW of the year, and if rumors are to be believed we may be nearing one of the last ECW’s ever. We’ve got more ECW homecoming matches with Matt Hardy and Evan Bourne making their returns. (more…)
