    The 2008 Summer Olympics began earlier today and are going on as we speak – but nobody cares about that, it’s Friday night, it’s 8PM, it’s time for SmackDown!  You guys know the drill by now, so here we go!

    Tazz is filling in for Mick Foley

    Natalya, Maryse, and Victoria def. Maria, Michelle McCool, and Cherry via submission.

    Backstage, Bam Neely is found unconscious with a black rose on him.

    Hawkins and Ryder def. Jimmy Wang Yang and Shannon Moore by pinfall.

    MVP announces that he’ll be wrestling Jeff Hardy at SummerSlam.

    Jeff Hardy def. Shelton Benjamin via disqualification.

    The Great Khali left Triple H lying in the ring via the vice grip.

    Curt Hawkins is found unconscious with a black rose on top of him.  Apparently Ryder was found with one earlier too.

    Vladimir Kozlov def. Jesse via pinfall.

    The Brian Kendrick def. Super Crazy via pinfall.

    Edge takes out Chavo with a Con-chair-to, and tells Vickie that he’s taking her to hell with him.

  9. BWF Podcast #6

    BWF Podcast 6 (Right click, save as)

    Well, I decided to do a podcast this week after all.  I’ve also decided that I’m not going to the Vans’ Warped Tour either, mostly because I can’t afford to.  So that means your iMPACT review will be up tomorrow.  This week’s podcast clocks in at just over 40 minutes, it’s some quick thoughts on the past week worth of shows, and a long winded rant about why ECW now officially needs to change it’s name.

    Now would be a good time, I suppose, to announce that I’m going to be doing more blog style posts in addition to the review posts – after the power comes back on at my place of employment.  Yes folks, it’s been seven weeks as of today and my job is still to just sit in the dark and tell people to go away.  Hopefully that will get fixed soon and I’ll be able to go back to a normal posting schedule around here.

  10. Getting back to normal – SmackDown 7/11/08

    Despite matches featuring the WWE Champion, the US Champion, the WWE Tag Team Champions, and the two women who will be competing for the new Divas Championship at The Great American Bash, this show was completely centered around the relationship between the number one contender for the WWE Championship, Edge, and his former fiancee, SmackDown General Manager Vicki Guerrero.  Not that I’m complaining – I’m a huge Edgehead.  I just think the champions should’ve had some mic time or something, since, y’know, they are champions.  Oh well, whatever.  Not really much to this week’s show – not saying it wasn’t entertaining, there just wasn’t much to it.
