  1. WWE RAW results 3/15/10

    What?  I was supposed to review this at 9?  What?  I was supposed to use tweets?  What?  I should be publishing this right now instead of just starting on it?  What?  Deadline?  What?  Schedule?  What?  Punctuality?  What?  What?  What?  Truth be told, I was unable to catch the beginning of RAW or iMPACT for reasons beyond my control, so I opted to wait until after the shows were over to start writing about them.  So I found a copy of RAW first – and fast! – so we’re going to start with the WWE’s show tonight.  Too bad today’s only 3/15, because with our guest host tonight, 3/16 may have been more appropriate – That’s right, Stone Cold Steve Austin is our host tonight, and he’ll be moderating the contract signing between Bret Hart and Vince McMahon for their WrestleMania match.  Speaking of WrestleMania, it’s WrestleMania rewind night tonight!  We’ll get a rematch from WrestleMania XIX, which I happened to have attended, when Shawn Michaels faces the World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho.  We’ll see a rematch of WrestleMania XX’s opening contest when John Cena faces The Big Show.  WrestleMania 25’s main event will also see a rematch tonight, as Randy Orton takes on Triple H.

    Alright, I don’t want to talk too much (this is the RAW review, not the iMPACT review, y’know!), so let’s get started!

    Welcome all to another edition of Random Randomness.  Happy St. Patrick’s day to all those who celebrate it on Wednesday.  Here in JTland the celebration has already started.  But we’re not here to talk about that this is a wrestling website so lets talk about wrestling:

    We’re still rolling here on the Road to WrestleMania!  Will ShoMiz respond to getting rolled over by John Morrison and R-Truth on Monday?  Will Chris Jericho continue to be rolled over by Edge when the number one contender to Jericho’s title is the guest on the Highlight Reel?  Will I continue to try to work the word “roll” into every sentence?

    Let it roll, let it roll, Friday Night SmackDown is unstoppable, and it’s starting now!

  4. WWE Superstars

    Hey everybody.  I’m back with another invigorating review (and by review I mean my rants about how these guys should be used instead of how they are being used) of WWE Superstars.  Let’s get this thing started shall we?

    Kofi Kingston def. Chavo Guerrero

    This match is for two guys who can’t get on TV anymore.  Somehow, Kofi got lost in the RAW shuffle and is not even in the Money in the Bank Match at Wrestlemania.  How does this kind of oversight happen?  One minute the guy is on fire in a very hot feud with Randy Orton and then the next he is delegated to random matches against Chavo Guerrero on Superstars without even a hint he will be on the biggest show of the year.  Is it just me or does Kofi seem like another Elijah Burke, destined to be in TNA?  Anyways, Kofi wins with the Trouble in Paradise.

    Evan Bourne def. William Regal

    This is the type of match that should get some time.  It’s really hard to explain a comeback from a beatdown in a short period of time.  William Regal dominates this match and then out of nowhere, Bourne hits a knee and the Shooting Star Press for the win.

    Kane def. Mike Knox

    Ok. Kane is in the MITB match at Wrestlemania.  Mike Knox is on his way to the unemployment line.  Who do you think won this?  Kane wins with the Chokeslam.

    Chris Jericho vs Goldust

    This was a highly entertaining match.  Jericho even praised the Bizzare One on his Twitter account after this match was recorded on Tuesday night.  With Goldust being in good shape and still being able to perform on a high level, maybe he can hang around for a little while and do for Drew McIntyre what he did for Sheamus on ECW.  Jericho wins with the Codebreaker.

    That’s it for this week.  Tune in again next week.

    Ah, SmackDown.  I didn’t think I’d be reviewing this show anymore, but it just keeps coming back to me.  Truth be told, I love covering the blue brand – Josh Matthews makes stupid faces, Matt Striker makes cool comments, and I don’t really have to wait for the show to come on to do my review.  Yes folks, it’s 8AM on Friday, March 5th, and I’m here to review WWE Friday Night SmackDown!

    Darren Young def. David Otunga

    Darren Young, CM Punk’s rookie, defeated Jennifer Hudson’s fiancee and R-Truth’s rookie, David Otunga in the opening contest.  Luke Gallows and Truth got into a discussion outside of the ring, and as the referee was distracted, Punk tripped up Otunga, allowing Young to pick up the victory.

    After the match, Otunga shoved Truth.

    Promo: Daniel Bryan says he’ll headline WrestleMania some day.

    Video: Bryan taking a huge bump courtesy of Chris Jericho.

    Backstage: Bryan is getting looked at by the trainers, and Miz informs him that he’ll be facing Jericho’s rookie, Wade Barrett, next!

    <COMMERCIAL BREAK>

    During the break, David Otunga and R-Truth got into a bit of a brawl before officials broke it up.

    Chris Jericho is introduced, and he comes to the stage to introduce Wade Barrett

    Video: Wade Barrett will dominate you, because that’s what will put money into his bank account.

    Daniel Bryan’s ribs are taped up as he makes his way to the ring, sans The Miz.

    The Miz and Carlito watch from a monitor backstage, as Barrett dominates early on.  Barrett hits a spinebuster and it’s too much for Bryan to overcome.

    Chris Jericho attacks Bryan after the match and locks him in the old school Lion Tamer style Walls of Jericho.

    Later on tonight, Justin Gabriel teams with his pro Matt Hardy to face Skip Sheffield and his pro, William Regal.

    <COMMERCIAL BREAK>

    Backstage: Heath Slater is bragging about his and Christian’s win last week.  Christian tells him that he shouldn’t be overconfident, and that David Otunga won his match too.

    Backstage: Justin Gabriel is excited to work with Matt Hardy.  Hardy says Gabriel will bring a lot of high flying maneuvers, kind of like a young Matt Hardy.  Here’s hoping he doesn’t get fat and wear tights that are too small for him.

    Regal and Skip Sheffield make their way to the ring.

    <COMMERCIAL BREAK>

    Video: Skip Sheffield is a Corn fed Meathead.  He’s an entertainer, and he’s good at it.

    Hardy and Gabriel make their way to the ring and we’ve got our main event.

    Matt Hardy & Justin Gabriel def. William Regal & Skip Sheffield

    Gabriel picked up the win for his team.  Matt Hardy dropped Regal with a  Twist of Fate, and Gabriel nailed a 450 splash, picking up the victory.

    Backstage: Matt Striker is with the rest of the rookies.  Carlito comes in and spits in the face of Heath Slater.  He says that’s cool.  Slater doesn’t think so, but Striker says, “That’s NXT.”
