Hello, my loves. I know it’s been a very long time since I’ve put up a review, but… It’s the WWE Draft!! I’d make some kind of smart comment, but I haven’t seen RAW in a few weeks. So, here we go.
Jesus Christ, we start out with a RAW vs Smackdown fight in the ring. I missed the beginning, as did everyone el- Oh, god. It’s a battle royal. So, don’t ask me what’s going on, but here’s the order of eliminations as I can see them: The winner of this battle royal gets the first draft pick of 2011!
On this week’s RAW, Edge shocked the world (…I almost said ‘WWE Universe,’ there. Ew.) by announcing his forced retirement on medical grounds. Tonight, we bid farewell to the in-ring career of the Rated-R Superstar, Edge.
We open with everyone backstage and Tiffany gets everyone’s attention. Tiffany talks about ECW going off the air but says it’s “not a bad thing, it’s a good thing. Everyone’s a free agent so use the next two weeks to impress everyone in the WWE universe and have a good time. She puts on some Mardi Gras beads and grabs a drink. When Zack Ryder questions her about this, ECW’s going off the air and she’s just going to party? “Woo Woo Woo, You know it.” (more…)
Welcome everybody to the critically acclaimed BWF Roundtable. I am your host as tonight we talk about the 2010 Royal Rumble. Joining me tonight are BWF authors Tharvey1 and ThinkSoJoE, as well as message board and Roundtable regular RYMAN to give everyone their picks for the Royal Rumble. Well without further ado, lets get this show on the road: (more…)
What’s up, my Peeps?! Hope all is well in your world. I’m back following an absence last week…sorry. While I may be a tad tardy to the party this week, this review is getting done. And here…we…go!
Match 1: Kelly Kelly vs Gail Kim
I think everybody knows how I feel about diva wrestling by now. Thus, you just get the results here. Kelly Kelly defeats Gail Kim. I think Gail turns on Sunday. Raw needs another heel diva.
Match 2: Ezekiel Jackson and Vladimir Kozlov vs Tommy Dreamer and Golddust
I like Big Zeke and Golddust, but could care less about the other two. The finish sees Dreamer hit Kozlov from behind and Golddust hits the Flatline for the win. After the match, Jackson and Kozlov attack Tommy and the Bizzarre One. Zeke is a future World Champ IMO!
Main Event: Matt Hardy and R-Truth vs Drew McIntyre and Eric Escobar
Matt looks really fat in those tights that he insists on wearing to the ring every week. R-Truth should be an IC title contender. Drew McIntyre is pure gold. Eric Escobar IS fat. McIntyre hits Hardy with his DDT for the win. They are intent on pushing their young talent on Smackdown…catch a hint RAW!
10 days until Hell in a Cell. That means 2 more Superstars to review. Lets get the first one out of the way.
Match 1: The Masterpiece Chris Master vs Primo Colon
Its time to start pushing Chris Masters into something big. This guy is huge! Primo is a very good inhancement talent. Masters should not be losing to Primo, but I understand that Primo can’t job every week and needs some credibility for himself. Primo wins this with a quick roll up. This is fine with me, as Masters was not made to look weak in the loss. Primo is always fun to watch and he has so much more talent than Carlito, but I still see Carlito as having more to offer. Go figure.
Match 2: Goldust vs William Regal
Lord Regal’s court follows him to the ring in this one. Big Zeke is a star! Kozlov not so much, but he is ginormous too. Should Goldust still be called Goldust if his ring attire is more black than gold? Goldust wins this one via DQ. Kozlov and Ezekial Jackson help Regal dismantle Goldust. Christian, Tommy Dreamer and Yoshi Tatsu rush to the ring to save the Golden one.
Match 3: Michelle McCool and Layla vs Maria and Melina
If you have missed it, over the last few weeks Maria and Melina have been on the outs, as Maria thinks Melina has been trying to sabotage her relationship with Mr. Ziggles. Early on, Maria and Melina seem to be on the same page. Michelle McCool hits a big boot to Maria’s face and Layla gets the pin. After the match, Maria wants nothing to do with Melina. This proves that good booking and creative writing can make women’s matches interesting.
Ask the divas segment. Who cares?!
Main Event: Matt Hardy vs Kane
Matt just doesn’t do it for me at all. He is out of shape, doesn’t speak well, and can’t do the things he used to be able to. Kane, however, should be a main event heel on Smackdown right now, but the fans will always love him too. Why are the fans behind Matt so much? Is it because he is Jeff’s brother? He certainly isn’t exciting to watch or listen to anymore. Matt wins via DQ as Kane straddles Matt on the ropes several times and then delivers a Chokeslam for good measure. Even after leaving Matt in a heaping pile in the ring, the fans still popped for Kane as he left the ring.
Thanks for checking out the review this week. Join me next week as I will also give my HIAC predictions.
This match looked like a squash until the end, when Bourne made his comeback and hit his Shooting Star Press for the win. Raw is not doing a good job in building their midcard scene. Masters should be in the US Title race…not losing to Evan Bourne. Evan Bourne should be on Smackdown in the IC Title race…not beating huge guys like Masters and Jack Swagger.
Match 2: William Regal vs Tyler Reks
Tyler Reks sucks. He looks like he needs to take a massive duece when he walks. Regal wins with his running knee. After the match, Big Zeke and Kozlov hit their finishers on Reks for good measure.
Match 3: Cryme Time and Eve vs the Hart Dynasty
Good match…even with the divas involved. Eve looks good in the ring and Natalya is good in the ring. Natalya gets the win after Eve missed her acrobatic splash followed by a Natalya clothesline.
It appears that everyone else has forgotten about the little one-hour show every Tuesday nights on Syfy called ECW, so I am here to catch you up.
8/11 RESULTS
Shelton Benjamin def. Zack Ryder
After last week’s actions in the Abraham Washington show between the two, it was Benjamin who got the win with the Pay Dirt.
Paul Birchill attacks Gregory Helms, accusing him of being the masked superhero who has been coming to the rescue in recent weeks.
Vladimir Kozlov def. Random Jobber #1
After Kozlov won, Ezekial Jackson also beat down Random Jobber, causing a staredown between the two.
Yoshi Tatsu def. Paul Birchill via DQ
Birchill’s valet, Katie-Lea got involved, causing the DQ. After the match, the Hurricane came to the ring and attacked Birchill.
Tyler Reks def. Random Jobber #2
Not much to say, really.
On the Abraham Washington show, William Regal was announced as #1 contender for Christian’s ECW Championship. Nothing wrong with Regal being #1 contender, but someone should mute Abraham Washington.
William Regal def. Tommy Dreamer
Dreamer, still suffering injuries from the Extreme Rules match with Christian the week previously, fell to the man from Blackpool, England.
8/19 RESULTS
The Hurricane def. Paul Birchill
In his first offical match back, the Hurricane is victorious after hitting the Eye Of The Hurricane.
The Abraham Washington show featured Goldust, and then Sheamus. Sheamus calls Goldust lucky for beating him on Superstars, a stare down followed.
Zack Ryder def. Yoshi Tatsu
Ryder won after the Zack Attack. Does ECW have more than 10 guys on the roster?
ECW Champion Christian and Ezekial Jackson def. William Regal and Vladimir Kozlov by DQ
Dreamer was scheduled to be the Champ’s partner, but he was beat down by Regal and Kozlov earlier, so Christian chose Big Zeke, who proceeded to join Regal and Kozlov in a 3-on-1 assault on Christian.
That’s ECW all caught up. Tune in next week, for more ECW action.
